Ho Chen ducked low and twisted slightly as the demon gatekeeper’s spear swung toward his neck. He aimed a punch with his left fist toward his opponent’s stomach, but the attack was narrowly dodged.

The cave trembled slightly as Ho Chen’s missed blow released a surge of stray energy from the Drunken God Strike, which slammed into the cave wall.

Fortunately, he hadn’t used his full inner energy—fearing that a missed strike could collapse the cave. His caution was justified. If the cave crumbled, he would be buried inside along with it.

Before he could retract his palm, the demon’s spear slashed toward his arm. He barely managed to block it with the heirloom staff in his right hand.

However, the force of the block left him vulnerable—a kick landed squarely on his chest, sending him hurtling backward. His body crashed into the cave wall, but not too violently, as he had driven his Yellow Iron Staff into the ground to slow his momentum, leaving a long scar along the cave floor.
