Chapter IV (The Sudden Events)
last update2023-11-21 21:09:18

Damion stood in shock as two gunshots echoed inside the public toilet. He then heard a man complaining. "F*ck it! He almost got me!"

That man was Pako.

After a few moments, inside the public toilet, a burst of gunshots lasted for over thirty seconds. The rapid, booming noises of the bullets hitting the concrete walls left Damion's ears ringing in a straight line.

Damion, who was sitting down at the toilet bowl, has his eyes bulging in dread. He yelled and panicked inside his head, quivering with fear for his own life, thinking he would be left dead inside the toilet. 'This is crazy! What the f*ck is happening? Am I going to die here? '

Damion notices that the cubicle door remains unlocked. He decided to peer slowly. He was shocked when he saw Finn's body on the floor, butchered with bullet wounds.

After a few moments, he saw one individual who was wearing a gray suit groping Finn's deceased body. That individual was Pako. Damion then saw Pako irking and heard him saying, "Tsk! I couldn't find it!"

Aside from Pako, Damion then heard another man's voice shouting, "It's not here!"

"Pedro! The dark wooden box wasn't at him." Honcho was the owner of that voice. He was calling out Pedro, informing him that the dark wooden box they were looking for wasn't at Finn's body.

Damion then spotted a bulky and bald man who appeared to be in a terrible mood as his teeth gritted in annoyance. That man was Pedro. Pedro's aggressive voice then responded to Honcho, "What do you mean the dark wooden box wasn't at him?"

Damion couldn't grasp to look at Finn's deceased body on the floor. He was feeling restless. He later settled down to close the cubicle toilet's door and deeply breathed right after.

He was deeply contemplating how to avoid getting caught. However, fear consumed his thoughts, rendering him unable to think. What is even more distressing about his current situation is that he is panicking. In his mind, he was thinking of his what-ifs. 'What if I die in here? with feces in my rectum? O god! Please no! That's the worst way to die!'

He calmed himself down. 'No! no! I will not die here!"

Suddenly, he could feel that the satchel was trembling as if it contained life. He looked at it seriously. After a few moments, he decided on opening the satchel. Inside the satchel, he found a piece of paper clipped to a dark wooden box.

On the paper, there was a name written on it that said, "To Doctor Dominguez.". Additionally, the paper included an attached picture. From the picture, twelve young teens were wearing white hospital gowns, while three old men who looked like doctors were sitting in the center. In the background, a river and a wooden bridge are visible. He also noticed that there were written words on the paper. Although curious, he could not make sense of the writing because it appeared to be written in a foreign language.

Damion then looked at the dark wooden box, as it was trembling as if it contained a life inside it. He was intrigued. He then hauled out the dark wooden box from the satchel.

'What's with this satchel? Should I give it to them so they can spare my life? '

[GASP!]

Suddenly, the strange box shook erratically and slipped from his hands. When it hit the ground, it emitted awful noises, which made him gasp in alarm. Afterward, the strange box cracked open. A dark, veiny organ resembling a heart emerged from the dark wooden box. It thumped in a rhythmic pattern while releasing steam gases and a toxic smell that charred his nose. It was terrifying to look at and, at the same time, displeasing to the nose.

A redstone then popped out in the center of the dark, veiny organ when it twisted. It then glowed in purple and dark flames while strange tentacles unexpectedly sprouted from its sides, crawling like wild vines in the dark wooden box.

It has a preternatural appearance, resembling that of a parasitic creature. That parasitic creature jolted Damion when it suddenly jumped and forcefully entered his mouth. Damion was overcome with dread and panic as he desperately grasped at his throat with both hands.

"F*ckker--GHKK!" Damion choked and fought for his life as the air blocked his lungs. As every second passed, he felt dizzy and was slowly fainting. His ears were ringing, while his body slowly went numb. His body then began to shake, creating a cacophonous sound of thudding and blagging.

His vision slowly darkened, and the last thing he saw were Pako and Honcho destroying the cubicle door of the toilet.

[GASP]

"What just happened?" Damion sprung awake, abruptly finding himself chilling on a distinctly transparent, slicked-wet surface. The air around him was thick with a fog that curled and twisted, obscuring his vision.

"What is this place?" The place is quiet—not that quiet of a total silence, as you could still hear the breezy wind rushing into your ears. Damion gently stood up and wandered around. As he looked straight ahead, his eyes squinted as he saw an unknown figure looming. 'What was that? '

Then, the figure's subsequent disappearance jolted him. After a few moments, an eerie feeling jittered his spine, causing him to slowly veer behind his back. As he turned, he stumbled in terror. His face was filled with fear as an amorphous, dark, smoky, faceless entity with a human-like body blazing with purple flames stood behind him.

The entity then flaunted its ability to talk by cocky-greeting Damion with its hoarse and androgynous voice: "What's up? Don't be scared of me, you useless human."

Paralyzed in fear, Damion looked at the entity. His frightful eyes then broadened in stupor when the entity touched his shoulder and morphed, adopting his full appearance, notably the short black hair, brown eyes, mid-sharp nose, and lean frame. The entity also replicated Damion's entire school's physical education uniform. From the gray cotton pants, high-cut sneakers, and short-sleeve red and white striped shirt with the university emblem on the right chest.

Damion's mind then snapped back in realization when the entity snapped its fingers. Damion hastily crawled backwards away from the entity as he tremulously inquired, "Who in the hell are you?"

The entity flickered in front of him; their faces were almost contiguous with each other. It then flicked Damion's forehead while he was grinning. "Who do you see in front of you? That's what my name is," it replied.

Damion could see that it was a reflection of himself. His eyes were blinking in confusion. "Am I you?"

The entity snapped his fingers. Slowly, its appearance was vanishing, like ash blown away by the wind. Its voice later resounded in the area: "That's right, Damion! You and I are one now."

Damion was completely baffled, as the entity seemed to know his name. He then inquired in his thoughts, "How does this entity know my name?'.

Damion stood up, took a quick big breath, and exhaled loudly, "I don't understand what you were talking about! What do you mean that you and I are one? And where the hell am I?".

[GROUND CRACKS!]

From the wet surface, a strange, black vine suddenly came out and coiled itself tightly around Damion. The black vines then laid Damion into the ground.

From above, a spark of flame kindled and burst like a spiraling hollow. From the spiraling hollow, an unknown entity appeared. An unknown entity appeared from the spiraling hollow and crafted a spear out of purple and dark flames.

It then sarcastically praises and questions Damion: "What a funny human! Haven't you realized that I have already taken your body? Have you not remembered anything?".

In a flash, it throws the purple flaming spear he created right at Damion's chest. The flaming spear pierced through Damion's chest, widening his eyes in a state of shock. A light pinch got into his head afterward, and a transient vision abruptly flickered into his mind.

The bizarre parasitic thing that forced its way inside his body reflected in his head. And after a few moments, his mind went back to the present situation.

[DEEP GASP!]

"Are you that parasitic creature?". He inquired about the entity while incredulously gasping. Then, with bewilderment, he added, "Does that imply you've killed me?"

The entity didn't reply to his inquiries. However, it gave Damion notice about something: "You need to save yourself, Damion.".

After that, the entity's entire appearance was slowly vanishing from the mist, as were the weird, dark vines that tangled Damion. Damion is in a state of confusion while lying down on the ground. He yelled, "Hey! Comeback! Where the hell are you? What do you mean that I have to save myself?"

He waited for a few seconds for a response, but there was none. He thereupon curses in extreme confusion, "I—I just don't f*cking know what was going on!"

A few moments later...

[RUMBLING!]

An intense vibration occurred. It was such a strong force of vibration that the entire area started to create a cracking sound and a narrow earth split.

[INTENSE CRACKING NOISES!]

Damion was then shocked when the ground collapsed. He then fell into a dark space, screaming in fear while free-falling at high velocity with the rock debris.

"AAAAAAH!"

And as he fell even more deeply, he felt that his chest began to tighten as the air was getting thinner and thinner. Slowly, his vision went dark as his consciousness drifted away.

[SMACK!]

"Wake up!"
