There are many Mortal World in this novel and what determines the world to be a mortal world is the spiritual energy it produced! Once a world can only produce spiritual roots of the lowest to mid tier, it's immediately labeled as mortal world.
Immortal world on the other hand has thick spiritual energy and can produce high to highest spiritual roots if a cultovator cultivate in that world. So the moment you are born in the mortal world, without a connection to the Immortal clan and be accepted as their outer disciples, your fate is already sealed to be a mere mortal! To reach the Immortal realm, and start cultivating into Qi Gathering Stage, one needs vast resources but all resources are manipulated by the Immortal clans. Without a connection to them even with a heaven-defying body constitution you won't reach the Qi Gathering stage, the lowest stage of the Immortal stage! In this novel, there is no such sects here—only Clans. Immortals here cultivate their own bloodline rather than picking up random people.
