One Month Later…

"Don't worry," a gentle voice said reassuringly. "I'm sure you'll get in."

Lin Wuchen smiled confidently. "Of course I will."

"But are you certain you want to join the Ten Thousand Sword Sect?" Mu Yurou asked with a hint of concern. "Although your unique physique has awakened, greatly improving your innate cultivation talent, you'll still need an exceptional affinity for the Sword Dao to be accepted."

"Mom..." Lin Wuchen said with a reassuring smile. "Don't worry. I'll definitely be accepted."

Mu Yurou smiled warmly. "Alright. I believe in you."

She then gently straightened his robe before adding,

"You should get going. You don't want to be late. Your father is already waiting for you."

Lin Wuchen nodded before turning and leaving the room.

Over the past month, he hadn't slacked off in either his cultivation or training for even a single day, leaving the entire Lin Clan astonished.

Those who had initially believed he was merely pretending to have lost his memories were now completely convinced otherwise. Some even went as far as to speculate that he had been possessed by another soul.

Thanks to Lin Beichen making an exception and allowing him to cultivate in the clan's cultivation grounds for an entire month, Lin Wuchen's cultivation had advanced to the Seventh Stage of the Qi Gathering Realm.

Ordinarily, with the amount of spiritual qi he had absorbed during that month, an average cultivator would have already broken through to the next major realm.

However, cultivating the Nihility Dao Scripture demanded an incomparably greater amount of spiritual qi than ordinary cultivation techniques. As a result, despite consuming vast quantities of pure spiritual qi, he had only reached the Seventh Stage of the Qi Gathering Realm.

Lin Wuchen met up with his father, and the two immediately set off.

The Ten Thousand Sword Sect being one of the Ten Great Sects of the Profound Heaven Continent, was located within Heavenly Sword Prefecture in the Western Province.

Each of the Ten Great Sects had its own unique entrance trial. Anyone wishing to join had to pass their respective examinations before they could be accepted as a disciple.

—----

The journey lasted several days.

Eventually, an immense mountain range came into view. Towering peaks pierced the clouds, and an overwhelming sword aura permeated the entire region, as though countless invisible blades were suspended between heaven and earth.

"This is as far as I can take you," Lin Beichen said as he brought their journey to a halt. He looked toward the towering mountain before continuing,

"The first trial of the Ten Thousand Sword Sect is ascending this mountain."

It sounded deceptively simple.

However, the mountain was anything but ordinary. The entire mountain range was filled with sword intent. The higher one climbed, the stronger the sword intent became. Those who lacked sufficient willpower or a natural affinity for the Sword Dao would eventually be forced to stop, regardless of the strength of their cultivation. Only those acknowledged by the mountain itself could reach the summit.

Lin Wuchen bid his father farewell before making his way toward the mountain range.

As he drew closer, he noticed countless young cultivators gathered at the foot of the mountain. They had all come for the Ten Thousand Sword Sect's entrance examination.

As expected of one of the Ten Great Sects of the Profound Heaven Continent, it truly lived up to its reputation. Thousands of hopeful souls had gathered, each eager to earn a place within the sect.

Since the trial had yet to begin, no one had made a move to ascend the mountain. Lin Wuchen simply found a quiet spot and waited.

GONG!!

A deep, ancient bell resounded throughout the entire mountain range, its echoes lingering between the towering peaks.

Moments later, a majestic voice rang out from every direction.

"All those seeking to join the Ten Thousand Sword Sect, listen well."

"This is no ordinary mountain. It is the resting place of ten thousand ancient blades, each awaiting one worthy of inheriting its will."

"Today, you do not merely climb. You take your first step upon the Sword Dao."

"The mountain will not be swayed by your background, nor will it care for your status. It recognizes only your resolve and your affinity for the sword."

"Those whose hearts waver will find the journey difficult, while those who are in harmony with the Sword Dao will find the path before them."

"Reach the summit before sunset, and you shall pass the first trial, earning the qualification to become a disciple of the Ten Thousand Sword Sect."

"Begin."

The moment the final word fell, thousands of figures surged toward the mountain like a rushing tide, each hoping to be among the first to reach the summit.

Lin Wuchen, however, remained where he stood.

To someone who had once stood at the pinnacle of the Sword Dao as a Heavenly Sovereign, this trial was hardly worthy of being called a challenge.

However, his attention wasn't on the trial itself.

Instead, his gaze swept across the mountain as he sensed the astonishingly pure sword intent and dense sword qi permeating every corner of the mountain range.

A faint smile gradually appeared on his face.

"What a perfect place..."

Originally, he had planned to wait until after entering the sect before he began slowly forging his new physique.

Now, it seemed fate had presented him with an even better opportunity.

In his previous life, he had been born with the Origin Sword Physique, the very foundation upon which he had risen to become the greatest sword cultivator of his era.

But that was his previous life.

This time… He would forge a physique far superior to the Origin Sword Physique. A physique capable of perfectly harmonizing the Sword Dao with the Dao of Nihility.

He would not only reclaim the glory of his former life. He would surpass it completely.

With that in mind, Lin Wuchen headed deeper into the mountain range.

The moment he stepped past the outer boundary, an overwhelming pressure descended upon him like a tidal wave. It wasn't merely spiritual pressure—it was countless strands of ancient sword intent, each carrying an indomitable will that sought to crush his resolve and force him to retreat.

Lin Wuchen remained unfazed.

Ignoring the invisible force pressing against him, he continued walking as though he were taking a leisurely stroll.

The deeper he ventured, the more terrifying the pressure became. The mountain seemed to come alive as countless sword intents converged upon him, each one sharper and more domineering than the last. They collided endlessly, attempting to erode his will and shatter his determination.

Many of the other participants had already begun sweating profusely. Their faces turned pale as they struggled to advance, panting heavily under the immense pressure. Rather than harmonizing with the sword intent surrounding them, they instinctively resisted it, causing their spiritual energy to drain rapidly.

Several minutes later, Lin Wuchen finally found a place to his liking.

The sword intent here was vastly denser than anywhere he had previously passed, enough to make even seasoned cultivators hesitate.

Without the slightest hesitation, he sat down cross-legged and slowly closed his eyes.

His breathing gradually steadied as his heart became as calm as still water. Emptying his mind of all distractions, he used his previous comprehension of the Sword Dao as a bridge, allowing his soul to resonate with the mountain itself.

Time passed quietly.

The sect selection continued as countless youngsters climbed toward the summit, each hoping to catch the eye of the Ten Thousand Sword Sect.

Meanwhile, Lin Wuchen remained perfectly still, resembling an ancient statue that had existed for countless years.

...

Deep within the Ten Thousand Sword Sect, several elders observed the trial through a massive observation formation that displayed every corner of the mountain range.

One elder frowned before pointing toward Lin Wuchen's image.

"What is that boy doing?"

Before anyone could answer, a deep, resonant hum echoed throughout the entire sect.

At first, it was barely audible, like the faint vibration of a single sword.

Moments later...

The sound grew louder.

And louder.

Until it transformed into the deafening cry of countless swords resonating in unison.

Everyone ascending the mountain came to an abrupt halt. Even the observing elders unconsciously widened their eyes.

Across the mountain range, the dormant sword qi that permeated every corner of the region suddenly became active.

Like rivers flowing toward the sea, streams of pure sword qi surged from every direction, all converging toward a single figure.

Lin Wuchen.
