Dawn of the 13th Era

A Tier 3

"Jerry!!" Orion screamed out.

He left him behind at the hall and there was no way Jerry could've left campus when he was still there.

'Just hold on a bit, I'll be there soon.' he thought then transformed into Dave's form sprinting back to the lecture hall hoping to find Jerry there.

On his way to the hall, he could see different animals running about, monkeys, giraffes, foxes, gorillas, cheetah and even an elephant stomping across without a care.

The whole university was in disarray especially with the students rushing about, the animals looked like they were on drugs and specifically targeted the students nearby causing even more panic as blood flowed everywhere.

Orion saw a tiger leaping towards a student while running towards the hall. He clenched his fists and struck it with a powerful punch, blasting it away, it lay limply on the ground without any sign of life left in it.

He could've reached the hall if he just ran over there straight but he couldn't just watch the rampaging animals kill the students and watch them die when he could've helped. He killed one, then another, and another till he got stuck among them.

'At this rate I'll be late to the hall, who knows what will happen by the time I get there.' he turned after killing the tiger and continued running towards the hall when he heard another scream from his right.

Turning over, he saw a student entangled by a cobra 6 feet long it was biting into the students shoulder while the student was screaming in pain.

The sight of a snake that long made him freeze on the spot, he had always been afraid of snakes and one almost as long as a full grown human gave him the urge to just turn around and run.

Gritting his teeth he said "Forgive me Jerry, I'll deal with those here then go over to help once I'm done, I can't run now or I'll feel guilty for the rest of my life"

Despite the fear, he switched form to Alex's and raised a fist gathering the blue sparks and throwing it towards the snake head unintentionally hitting the student also but he could care less as long as the snake died.

The moment the snake fell off and tried to escape he threw another punch at it, gathering more blue sparks this time turning it into a charred carcass.

'This is better and faster instead of just brute forcing my way out as long as I don't wrap it all around my body I should be alright' he thought then decided to keep using Alex form.

The downside was his speed slowed down considerably unless he gathered all the blue sparks on his body and he didn't want to experience the same thing he went through the previous day.

'I'll just stay behind and kill those I can see around here for now.' he thought then ran towards a gorrila nearby throwing another punch at it, this time hitting it in the chest directly. The gorrila fell to the ground while convulsing.

'Okay I think that's all here time to go' he thought then transformed back to Dave's form and ran towards the hall.

'I'm sorry you all, I need to go first I'll be back once I check on Jerry' he thought looking at the students running about trying to clear his conscience.

At the university's entrance, vans were rushing into the campus while soldiers could be seen rushing in creating a barricade round the university and others were going in to kill the animals and rescue the students.

Among them Alex and a group of eight other men could be seen rushing in with guns equipped.

"What's going on in here?" One of the soldiers asked.

"The zoo, the animals all broke out but they don't look normal, it's like they're all possessed and all they know is to kill all humans they see." One of those following Alex said.

"Mutants?"

"No, doesn't seem like it at least, they don't have any abilities. Besides, it takes a long process for a mutant to be created and there's no way so many of them can emerge at once. At most, four or five of them would show up in the zoo, there might not even be one."

"Then what's wrong here? We need to know what we're fighting." The soldier asked again.

"They are not mutants but they are being controlled, they might be animals but even the monkeys and zebras are fighting like they are hungry for blood even biting into flesh. There's a mutant behind all this controlling them that's what we have to kill." He said.

"That doesn't solve anything, how are we supposed to find the one controlling them?" The soldier asked with an annoyed expression on his face while ordering the soldiers to rush in and kill the rampaging animals.

"Pretty much useless, you can't even do much just stay behind the soldiers before you die to a stray shot." He said then picked his gun and led his squad away.

"You---"

"Don't" Alex said.

"We can't do much here just stay here for now and kill those who pass through their net that's our job." He said while holding him back.

"So annoying"

The soldiers walked into the university while killing the animals they found, the university zoo had a variety of animals. Even the pigeons and peacocks were attacking humans with their beaks, poking at their eyes and body.

The worst were the wild beasts and the snakes, tigers and leopards were on an unstoppable rampage, even the soldiers had to be careful dealing with them.

"When are the reinforcements coming? Some of the students are stuck far away and some are surrounded we can't do anything to them for now unless reinforcements arrive." The captain spoke into his walkie-talkie.

"Just evacuate those close to the entrance for now, reinforcements are on their way to deal with the breakout."

"When will they arrive?!"

"They should be there already."
