CHAPTER 15 — The Wrong Way

At this point, Gavin truly had to accept that all these years, he’d been completely deceived by Bella’s pretty face and sexy body.

Because if he actually paid attention to the way she talked, He never should’ve fallen in love with her in the first place.

Right now, in Gavin’s eyes, Bella genuinely looked like a shameless woman who had no idea where her limits were.

But this time,Gavin no longer thought the same way he used to. He refused to be humiliated simply because these two believed they could do whatever they wanted to him.

The moment he saw Brandon’s

condescending smile, An idea suddenly crossed Gavin’s mind.

“Yo, Brandon.” Gavin smirked faintly.

“Shopping today? Guess you’ve got a lot of money to throw around.”

Gavin’s intuition started working again. At this point, he was convinced that no matter how arrogant Brandon was, he still wouldn’t do something reckless enough to create legal trouble over someone like him.

And Gavin himself fully intended to take advantage of the changes happening in the way he now judged situations and acted.

That alone caused Brandon and Bella to glance at each other.

Because from Gavin’s tone,That clearly wasn’t praise.

“Well, obviously.” Brandon grinned proudly while wrapping an arm around Bella’s waist. “But I’m not shopping just for myself.”

He pulled Bella closer. “I’m also buying things for this beautiful girl.”

Bella visibly enjoyed hearing that. There was even pride in her eyes.

And somehow, that made Gavin hate the girl who had occupied his mind for the past several years even more.

“Oh, really?” Gavin nodded casually. “Good for you. I think she suits someone like you perfectly.”

“Anyway, carry on. I’ve got other things to do.”

Just as Gavin started turning away, Brandon spoke again. “Gavin, you don’t need to pretend you’re strong.”

“Because all three of us know who the real loser here is.”

“You’re so proud of your poverty,” Brandon sneered, “when you don’t even realize how much money separates people like us.”

Honestly, Gavin had once wondered why Brandon targeted him specifically instead of simply taking Bella.

But now,He no longer cared. Gavin smiled slightly. Because this was exactly what he expected.

Brandon was never going to let him leave peacefully. And Gavin himself never intended to walk away either. He had deliberately waited for a moment like this.

“Oh really?” Gavin asked calmly.

Bella knew Gavin extremely well. That was exactly why she managed to manipulate him for such a long time before Brandon appeared and approached her.

Without even considering Gavin’s feelings, Bella immediately accepted Brandon’s attention and willingly did whatever it took to secure him. Including humiliating Gavin publicly.

But strangely, The moment Gavin turned back toward them again, Bella instinctively realized something about him had changed.

“Gavin...” Bella frowned slightly. “There’s seriously something wrong with you.”

“You should just leave. We don’t have time to waste dealing with you.”

Her voice sounded colder now. Because for the first time, Bella felt genuinely uneasy. After all, A desperate man obsessed with her could become dangerous.

“No, babe.” Brandon smirked arrogantly. “We’ve got plenty of time to play with this pathetic loser.”

“It looks like he wants proof.” Brandon glanced at Gavin mockingly. “So I’ll show him.”

“Brandon, forget it.” Bella frowned slightly. “He doesn’t know anything about you.”

Ignoring her completely, Brandon spoke again. “Babe, pick anything you want in this store.”

“I’ll pay for all of it.”

“Brandon, what are you talking about?” Bella looked awkward. “I already finished shopping earlier.”

At that moment, Bella suddenly felt like she had become some kind of trophy in a strange competition between two men showing off in completely different ways.

“No... no...” Brandon insisted lightly. “You can buy more.”

“Just choose whatever you want.”

Bella became visibly uncomfortable. Of course she enjoyed the idea of Brandon buying her expensive things. But somehow, deep down, she felt that if she accepted too eagerly right now... Then Gavin would somehow win something.

Bella was intelligent. But clearly, She wasn’t used to situations like this. And Gavin immediately noticed her hesitation.

“Brandon...” Gavin suddenly spoke calmly. “I don’t think you’re actually that rich.”

Brandon’s brows instantly furrowed.

“I think you’re just playing safe by targeting girls far below your status because it’s cheaper to sleep with them.”

Then Gavin glanced toward Bella. “Just look at her.”

“She can’t even properly take advantage of your wealth... She’s already satisfied with a few pieces of fabric.”

Bella froze instantly after hearing that. Meanwhile, Brandon’s face turned red as though Gavin had just slapped him across the face.

Now fully convinced he was right, Gavin continued.

“I bet women at your own level reject you all the time. Because other than your money...” Gavin smirked faintly, “there’s absolutely nothing interesting about you.”

“And obviously, your money isn’t enough to take women like that on dates... Let alone get them into bed.”

After saying that, Gavin immediately turned around and started walking away.

“Yeah...” he muttered casually, “you two really are perfect for each other.”

He left Bella and Brandon standing there silently, both visibly stunned because neither of them expected him to act like that.

And honestly, Gavin felt satisfied. At the very least, he managed to repay a small part of the humiliation they caused him.

As for the rest, He intended to settle it another time.

“Stupidity is a sin...” Gavin muttered quietly.

“And I won’t commit that sin again.”

Just as he expected, Brandon wasn’t crazy enough to attack him publicly.

Ding!

[ Emotional retaliation detected ]

[ No capital gain identified ]

“What the hell?” Gavin frowned.

He genuinely thought the System would reward him this time instead of penalizing him. Then another notification appeared.

[ Risk exposure increased ]

[ System Stability -3% ]

“My System Stability dropped?”

“Three percent?! Seriously?”

The satisfied smile on Gavin’s face slowly disappeared. Because now,He realized something important.

Maybe Brandon wasn’t insane enough to attack him in public. But someone like Brandon would never forget humiliation either.

And after thinking about it carefully, The System was right. At this point, Brandon would definitely start planning retaliation.

Only now did Gavin fully understand something. What he just did wasn’t dominance. It was merely emotional release disguised as a small victory.

There were still many things he needed before he truly possessed the power to reveal who he really was.

“Damn it...” Gavin exhaled bitterly.

“I should’ve just paid gangsters to kill him instead...”
