Three floors below them, Aurelius National Bank’s central security division began moving quietly.

Inside the room filled with CCTV monitors, tracking panels, access logs, and behavioral analytics systems, several security staff initially looked confused when system priority suddenly changed.

LEVEL BLACK DISCRETION EVENT

One man stared at the primary monitor with a serious expression.

“Source?”

Leon’s voice answered through the comms.

“Private Wealth Executive Override.”

No further questions were asked. The man immediately began executing the protocol.

“Purge visible lobby footage from public retention.”

“Done.”

“Disable visitor facial indexing between 12:07 and 13:26.”

“Done.”

“Rewrite lobby occupancy archive.”

“Running.”

One by one, the monitors began changing.

Footage of Gavin entering through the main doors... Speaking with Leon... Standing inside the lobby... Slowly disappeared from the system timeline.

Replaced by empty frames. Shifted timestamps. Normal lobby traffic. Natural blind spots.

The man watched the process silently for several moments before finally asking quietly,

“Who exactly is he?”

Leon remained silent over the comms for a brief moment before answering.

“If I knew that... I wouldn’t have activated this protocol.”

Meanwhile downstairs... Marcus Hale had just stepped into the VIP parking area when two men in black suits stopped him.

Judging from their demeanor alone, Marcus immediately realized they were not ordinary lobby security personnel.

Marcus frowned. “Is there a problem?”

“Mister Hale,” one of the men spoke calmly, “today you saw something that officially never happened.”

Marcus laughed awkwardly. “Seriously? What is this, Men in Black?”

But Nobody laughed. Then the second man spoke.

“Starting tonight, you will not discuss that man.”

Marcus’ irritation immediately surfaced. “Look, I don’t know what kind of game you people are—”

“No.”

The first man interrupted him calmly.

“Listen carefully.”

“Some people buy property.”

“Some people buy companies.”

Then he stepped slightly closer. “And some people buy the right to decide who is allowed to continue existing inside the system.”

“Forget Gavin Valerio’s face.”

His gaze locked directly into Marcus’ eyes.

“Because if you don’t...”

“The world will start forgetting your existence first.”

Leon Briggs didn’t immediately return to his office after Gavin finally left the bank. Instead, he followed Evelyn.

There were several things bothering him since earlier, but he had been waiting for the right time and place to ask.

And the moment he closed the door to the Senior Private Officer’s office, he finally spoke.

“Did we really need to go that far?”

Evelyn Voss didn’t answer immediately. She simply grabbed a bottle of wine from the cabinet and carried it toward her desk.

Leon continued. “Lobby restriction. Surveillance rewrite. Executive escalation...”

He exhaled quietly. “This was definitely unusual, but he only moved one hundred million dollars.”

Evelyn smiled faintly while pouring wine into a crystal glass. “I’m investing for the long term.”

Leon frowned. “What do you mean?”

Evelyn slowly rotated the glass in her hand, the faint smile still lingering on her lips.

“Yes... right now, it’s only one hundred million.”

Her gaze shifted toward the massive window overlooking Riverton’s lights.

“But were you really paying attention to that young man?”

“Cheap clothes.”

“No identification.”

“And he still walked into the largest bank in Riverton to move capital.”

“Nervous while speaking...” Evelyn smiled slightly wider. “And I’m quite certain he barely understood half the things he was saying.”

Because Leon fell silent while trying to process everything, Evelyn finally turned back toward him.

“Leon...”

Her narrowed gaze was filled with interest. “Have you ever heard of someone moving one hundred million dollars because they lost their wallet?”

When Leon slowly shook his head, Evelyn smiled again.

“That child moved capital because he couldn’t buy lunch.”

Leon unconsciously laughed quietly. Because now he finally understood why Evelyn found Gavin interesting.

“I just hope...” Evelyn took another sip of wine, “that what we did today leaves an impression on him.”

“So that one day... when he returns here wearing different clothes and standing in a completely different position...”

“He won’t forget us.”

Capital Presence Lv.1

This was a development Gavin never expected. Earlier, he wasn’t even sure increasing Intuition would truly help him during critical moments.

“Good...” Gavin muttered while stepping out of a taxi. “At least I’ve finally started walking on the right path.”

Even after moving one hundred million dollars and receiving rewards, his MMS panel surprisingly remained unchanged.

Still, Gavin was satisfied. After all, he successfully completed the mission and understood the System far better now.

At this point, he could only hope Olivia moved quickly. He hoped she could reconnect with the people she mentioned so they could finally begin building everything.

Because Gavin had already realized something important—Money itself was merely a tool. And now, he needed other things to properly wield that tool.

“I need power...”

The Seven Deadly Sins do not exist.

Those were the words spoken by the old man Gavin believed gave him this System.

“The Only Mortal Sin... is stupidity.”

While leaving the bank earlier, Gavin spent time wandering around Riverton City.

But this time he no longer viewed the city the same way. Three years ago, he came here filled with hope.

Hoping to change his miserable life into something easier. He enrolled in university believing that after graduation, he could find work or start a business.

But who would’ve guessed. His own naïveté trapped him inside the web of a beautiful girl he thought loved him. When in reality, she only treated him like a horse pulling her carriage.

“Oh, Shit...” Gavin muttered bitterly. “Why am I thinking about her again?”

He knew he shouldn’t care about Bella anymore. Especially now that he fully understood she had exploited him in every possible way.

“Yeah...” Gavin laughed faintly to himself. “I guess I really was stupid.”

Regardless, Gavin no longer saw this city the same way anymore. In his eyes now, Riverton had become a target. A city he intended to conquer.

“We’ll see...” Gavin muttered quietly. “Once I control this city... Will anyone still dare look down on me?”

Gavin decided not to return to the university again today. Instead, he planned to visit his three friends at the dorm later.

For now, he wanted to buy proper clothes. Since he now possessed effectively unlimited money, he intentionally chose one of the city’s largest and most famous fashion stores so he could finally wear something far better than the cheap things he’d owned all his life.

But unfortunately Bella happened to be there too. And just like always, The more someone tries avoiding something, the more that thing seems to chase after them.

That was exactly what happened to Gavin now. For some reason, Bella suddenly stood directly in front of him while staring at him emotionally.

“Gavin, I honestly didn’t expect you to follow me everywhere.”

“Are you actually stupid?” Bella crossed her arms coldly. “We don’t have any relationship anymore.”

“Bella, I didn’t come here to follow you.”

Gavin answered just as coldly. “Feel free to continue whatever you’re doing. I don’t care. I have my own business here.”

“Oh?” A familiar voice suddenly interrupted. “I think I know exactly what kind of business that is.”

Gavin didn’t even need to turn around to recognize the voice.

“Hey,” Brandon smirked while walking closer. “Do you seriously think buying a few new clothes will change who you are?”

At first, Bella didn’t pay attention to him. But the moment Brandon brought it up, her attention immediately shifted toward the shopping bags Gavin was carrying.

“Gavin, did you rob someone?” Bella asked. “You couldn’t even pay your tuition before, and now... you can buy clothes in a place like this?”

“Profit?” Gavin asked, half under his breath. “Yeah.” Caleb immediately leaned forward. “How much?” Honestly, Gavin himself didn’t really understand crypto that well. The basics weren’t hard to grasp, but he had never actually bought a single token before. He didn’t even have an exchange app. He had only heard other people talk about it. “You guys are still here?” Gavin asked when he realized Nina and the others were still standing behind him. “W-We...” Nina stammered slightly. “Just tell us already!” one of the girls behind Nina shouted. “Yeah, we wanna know too!” another added shamelessly. There was no way Gavin could escape now after starting all this. He glanced left and right. Every eye was still locked onto him. So after thinking for a few seconds, he finally answered casually. “One hundred.” Adam frowned. Dylan tilted his head slightly. Nina and almost everyone else in The Yard also seemed confused because the number was way too short. “One hundred what?” “One hu

You can think whatever you want,” he said. “But who exactly are you?”Nina slightly pulled her head back, but Gavin still wasn’t done.“And why is whatever I do any of your busine—”His words suddenly stopped when his eyes landed on one of the girls standing beside Nina.“Oh...” Gavin slowly nodded. “Alright. CHAPTER 18 — Power RangersThe Yard was still fairly crowded that night. The sounds of student conversations, clinking utensils, soft music, and occasional bursts of laughter blended together in the air.Although students from South Block and North Tower occasionally showed up there, nothing particularly interesting had happened today, leaving most of the seats occupied by Commons residents who treated the place like their shared living room.At one of the tables in the middle of the food court, Adam leaned back in his chair while staring at Caleb and Dylan sitting across from him.“No matter what happens, we can’t just delete it.”Caleb immediately frowned.“Why not?”Adam let out a slow sigh and rubbed his face.“Because it’s not our responsibility. We only built the place. We’re not the ones who uploaded it, and we’re not the ones creating all that bullshit on there.”Dylan, who had been busy stabbing fries with his fork the whole time, finally looked up. Gavin walked slowly along the campus pathway with his phone pressed against his ear. Several shopping bags were still hanging from his hands, swaying lightly with each step. The night air felt colder now.“Olivia...” Gavin frowned slightly. “What exactly did you mean earlier?”Several seconds of silence passed before Olivia’s voice finally came from the other side of the call.“Gavin, if your goal is simply to start a business, then everything is fairly straightforward. We choose an industry, find a good location, and start investing.” Her voice remained calm as usual. “But if what you want to build is your own network, then that becomes a different problem.”Gavin stayed silent as he continued walking, waiting for Olivia to continue.“We need information,” Olivia finally said. “We need to know which networks are beginning to weaken, who’s fighting who, who’s losing money, and who’s becoming desperate.
