Gideon went over to the man who had self-destructed, and the detective's night vision scanned the black bull tattoo on his wrist. After scanning it, it gave an indication for Gideon to retrieve the man's watch.

The detective's night vision was as though Gideon was putting on mechanical glasses; it could scan objects, showing whether they could be used for investigation or not, and the watch, which was indicated for Gideon to retrieve, was embedded with the button that self-destructed the man, which means Gideon could use it as a track in getting to the cartel boss.

Gideon slightly bent, then picked up the wristwatch and slid it into his pocket. He went over to the document he was in possession of and slipped it into his bag before heading out of the apartment.

Before getting on his bike, he pulled out his phone and dialed Muzan's number before placing a call. “Hello, sir, I was attacked by black bull men. Can you assign some police to come get rid of the men in my new apartment?”

Muzan, who was at the other end of the phone, was stunned, and after Gideon was done speaking, he asked, “Do you mean you were attacked? How did they know your location?”

Muzan was confused as to why they wanted Gideon dead. After a deep breath, Muzan continued. “I told you about leaving anything that concerns the Black Bull cartels, but you wouldn't listen. Those guys won't stop until they see you dead for the second time.”

Gideon got very infuriated; he wanted to yell into the phone for what Muzan, his superior, had said, but then he took a deep breath before replying. “Sir, this is our job and if we keep getting scared of the bad guys, don't you think they will do more of what they are doing?”

“Yeah I know,” Muzan sighed. "But I hope you aren't hurt."

Gideon shook his head profusely. “No I'm not hurt.”

“Okay, come over to my apartment; there you will be safe for now, and there we can figure out their plan and reason they had attacked you. Furthermore, you can share what you have discovered,” Muzan demanded.

Gideon nodded his head while holding his phone as he replied, “Yes sir, I'm coming over now.”

Muzan lives at the Zain residence, a well-secured area in the city.

As soon as the call ended, Gideon deep the phone into his pocket, then sighed. “It's obvious that the security forces are corrupt, or perhaps an insider must have been behind the improvement of the Black Bull cartels.”

Gideon got on his bike and rode towards the Zain residence. Reaching the first gate to the estate, the security, who had received orders directly from Muzan, immediately opened the door for Gideon to get inside.

Gideon got into the mansion but was directed to the waiting room by the security. “Please, sir, wait here while I go call Mr, Muzan. He's expecting you.”

The security bluntly informed before stepping away. Within a few seconds, Muzan could be seen coming; he was wearing pajamas, though it was still night when Gideon was attacked, so it was obvious that Muzan was asleep when Gideon called him and informed him about what happened.

Muzan sat on the sofa and then offered Gideon alcohol in a glass cup. After Gideon sat on the sofa, a woman walked into the waiting room, and Muzan immediately smiled at her before gesturing for her to Gideon.

“This is my wife, Gideon. I got married to her two years ago. She's also a detective,” Muzan calmly introduces the woman with a smile.

Gideon was overwhelmed; the woman before him was the same woman who had helped him three years ago in spraying the itching chemical perfume on the guard's skin that got him a way to sneak into the elevator, making his way to the cartel boss he had tracked down. He didn't know she was a detective.

“She's the exact drunk woman I saw in the club years ago. So she got married to Muzan,” Gideon thought inwardly.

Muzan is a high-ranking figure in the police force, one of the top superiors. The woman he had married was young; she was about twenty-six years old.

Muzan is in his fifties and lost his wife some years ago in an ambush on his anniversary day.

Muzan noticed how pale Gideon was, and this got him curious to ask, “What is the problem? You look surprised.” Muzan then chuckled before continuing. “Yes I know what you are thinking: she's young, and I'm old, but that doesn't count; she loves me, and I love her.”

Gideon immediately snapped back with a sharp laugh before replying, “Sorry, that isn't what I mean; I was just curious about how you pull off something this perfect.”

Muzan laughed after Gideon said this. “Stop teasing me, okay? Well, my wife here has been interested in the case as well; she's also been working on uncovering the enigma of the Black Bull cartels and how they've been strong in there activities without being caught even once. Maybe you could work together to get the job done.”

The woman didn't say anything all this time, but then she slightly moved forward and shook Gideon. “Sorry, my husband forgot to tell you my name. I'm Sophia, and as he had said before, I'm also a detective.”

Gideon was expecting the woman to remember his face, but due to how she had approached him, it was obvious that she didn't remember. Probably the last time they met at the club, she was truly drunk, and that alone could be the reason she had forgotten his face.

Gideon shook Sophia with a smile before replying, "Nice meeting you too.”

Sophia sat beside Muzan, and Gideon sat at the other side of the sofa, while a big, elongated desk stood in their middle.

“Can you tell me in detail what happened?" Muzan adjusted himself on the sofa, his face getting serious and focused. "It was stunning that the black bull attacked you; they don't strike without a good reason, which means you must be someone who is of interest to them. And secondly I have as well send some police officers to your apartment so they can check if they can get any clues on the men you have taken down.”

Though after his demise, his money was still intact in his accounts. He opened the door to the apartment and went in, but soon noticed some things that weren't right: the place where he had kept some papers and other things he used for his investigation was slightly shifted from where he had previously dropped them, as though someone had tampered with them. And with thoughtful words he muttered under his breath, “There's no doubt, someone must have come here.”Gideon was very sensitive to his environment, especially to things he valued like his belongings, and he knew the exact way he had kept the documents before leaving the house early today, when he rented it, which is clear evidence that someone must have come, but the question remains, what

  • Unatural Strength

The man stared at what was happening; he was speechless, and in that moment he let go of the gun he was gripping tight, and it fell to the ground. The man dropped to his knees and at that moment he began to beg. “Please don’t kill me.” After the mutation that had happened, about fifteen years ago. Most humans weren’t affected, and the few humans who were affected in the city were seen as gods and feared. The man currently sees Gideon as one of them because he knows that death is for sure for him after making the careless move of pulling the trigger. Gideon was stunned as to what had just happened. “Dope, that means I have gotten a superpower.” The thought rumbled inside his mind as he thought about it. Gideon wasn’t a mutant; he wasn’t impacted by the chemical pollution outbreak that had occurred years back, so what had just happened to him startled him because he knew only mutants were capable of doing something of the sort. Gideon was confused; he touched his chest before looki

Gideon’s eyes widened as he asked, “You mean I have been dead for three years?” Clara began to mumble words in her mouth, as if already getting mental. “No, this can’t be possible. I saw him die.” Not quite long, the news spread across the department that Gideon was alive. His superior, Mr Muzan, rushed into Gideon’s office, and the moment he saw him, he froze. Muzan was a very close friend to Gideon despised he was his superior, though he was older than Gideon, and a very skilful and intelligent man. His intellect in the aspect of solving cases is unmatched by any. He went over to Gideon and softly held his hands. “I’m I hallucinating, or is this real?” Gideon stared at Muzan, but then he hugged him. Muzan had so many questions to ask, and so he invited Gideon to his office. Gideon sat on the chair

The mistake you made was ever pushing forward in this investigation after fully knowing my men were behind it.” Gideon didn’t flinch at the threat the cartel boss was throwing at him. He casually smirked before replying. “I’m a police officer, so what did you expect? I’m doing my job.” The cartel boss chuckled. “Hmmm, that’s fascinating. I’m impressed.
