The Solstice Group didn't get to be a global superpower by playing fair, and Han Jin wasn't about to start now.
In the passenger seat of the modified SUV, Zhao Wei gripped the door handle so hard the plastic groaned. The blacksmith looked at the neon-blue HUD flickering on the windshield, tracking three red dots moving through the city’s industrial district.
"You’re insane," Zhao grunted, his eyes darting to the massive hammer resting between them. "We just slapped the son of a billionaire into the harbor, and now you’re raiding an armory belonging to the people who basically own the government?"
"Correct," Han Jin said, his hands steady on the wheel. "In forty-four days, the government won’t exist. But the 'Engine of the Apocalypse' sitting in Warehouse 12 will. If Solstice finishes building it, they’ll have the power to enslave every survivor in a thousand-mile radius. I’d rather have it in my basement."
[Target Approaching: Solstice Logistics Hub - Warehouse 12]
[Security Level: High (Automated Turrets + 12 Guard Personnel)]
[Estimated Time to Breach: 4 Minutes]
The warehouse was a mountain of corrugated steel on the edge of the docks. Unlike the other buildings, this one was surrounded by a ten-foot electric fence and a "Dead Zone" of cleared earth.
Han didn't slow down.
"Zhao, hold on to something," Han commanded. "System, activate [Kinetic Ram]."
The front of the SUV shimmered as the Nano-bots from the bunker’s core, which Han had brought along in a portable canister, surged forward. They formed a jagged, diamond-shaped prow of reinforced alloy on the vehicle’s nose.
CRASH!
The SUV tore through the electric fence like it was made of wet paper. The reinforced steel doors of the warehouse buckled and exploded inward as three tons of mana-shielded SUV slammed into the loading bay.
"Intruder! Code Red!"
Alarms screamed, their red strobes painting the interior in the color of blood. Security guards in high-tech tactical gear scrambled from the catwalks, but Han was already out of the car.
He didn't reach for a gun. He reached for the air.
"System: Structural Override," Han Jin whispered.
[Architect Points (AP) Consumed: 150]
[Control Gained: Warehouse HVAC and Electrical Systems]
Suddenly, the massive industrial fans in the ceiling reversed. A localized hurricane of dust and debris blinded the guards. At the same time, the floor-mounted conveyors began to spin at lethal speeds, tripping the mercenaries and sending them sliding into the walls.
"Now, Zhao! Get the Engine!" Han shouted.
Zhao Wei didn't need to be told twice. He leaped from the car, his massive frame a blur of motion. He swung his sledgehammer, shattering the reinforced glass of a pressurized container in the center of the room.
Inside was a device that looked like a mechanical heart made of gold and obsidian. It was the Mana-Turbine V1—the only machine capable of converting the "thick" mana air of the future into pure, usable electricity.
"I got it!" Zhao roared, lifting the half-ton machine with a grunt of effort, his muscles bulging under the influence of the mana shard Han had given him.
"Not so fast, little builder."
A voice, cold and sharp as a scalpel, echoed from the catwalk. Han Jin looked up. A woman stood there, dressed in a sharp gray suit. She wasn't holding a weapon, but the air around her was crackling with static.
[Target Identified: Elena Voss]
[Rank: Solstice Executive / 'The Lightning Queen']
[Threat Level: High (Level 8 Awakened - Early Evolution)]
Elena raised a hand, and a bolt of blue lightning arced toward Zhao Wei.
"Zhao, down!" Han lunged.
He didn't use a shield. He used his own body. The [Kinetic Impact Suit] beneath his clothes glowed as it absorbed the strike. Han felt his hair stand on end, his skin searing, but the System HUD turned green.
[Energy Siphoned: +15%]
[Exoskeleton Overcharged!]
"You people really like giving me free power," Han Jin said, his voice dropping an octave as the suit’s power-boost kicked in.
He didn't run at her; he jumped. The hydraulic pistons in his boots hissed, launching him twenty feet into the air. He crashed onto the catwalk, the steel groaning under his weight.
Elena’s eyes widened. "You... you absorbed a direct hit from me? Who are you?"
"I'm the guy who’s taking your lunch money," Han said.
He swung a heavy, mana-weighted fist. Elena moved with the speed of a reflex, her body turning into a blur of sparks as she dodged. She was fast—faster than Silas Thorne—but she lacked one thing: Future Vision.
Han didn't aim where she was. He aimed where his System’s predictive algorithm said she would be.
He punched the steel railing next to her.
"What? You missed—"
CLANG!
The railing didn't just bend; it sent a massive kinetic vibration through the entire metal catwalk. The frequency was perfectly tuned by the System to disrupt human equilibrium. Elena stumbled, her lightning flickering out as her brain struggled to process the "vibration-stun."
Han grabbed her by the throat, pinning her against the wall.
"Tell your board," Han hissed, "that if they want their 'Gods' back, they can try to find me. But for every minute they spend looking, I’ll take another one of their toys."
He didn't kill her. He dropped her unconscious body and leaped back down to the floor. "Zhao! In the car! Now!"
They peeled out of the warehouse just as a fleet of Solstice helicopters appeared on the horizon.

As they sped back toward the mountains, Zhao Wei looked at the golden engine in the back seat. "We have the power source. We have a smith. What's next, Architect?"
Han Jin looked at the countdown on his HUD.
[Time Remaining: 44 Days, 18 Hours.]
"Next," Han Jin said, a cold smile playing on his lips, "we find the Doctor. Because in forty-four days, a bunker won't be enough. We’re going to need a hospital that can cure the 'Mana Plague'—and there’s only one woman in this city who knows how to build it."
He looked at a photo on his screen: a young, overworked surgeon named Dr. Aris Thorne. Silas Thorne's sister.
"And she’s currently being held in a Solstice 'rehabilitation' center."

The white light didn't fade; it shattered like a glass mirror.Han Jin woke up with the taste of copper and salt in his mouth. The rhythmic hum of the [Divine Architect System]—the constant digital companion that had dictated his every breath since the reboot—was gone. No HUD. No status bars. No reassuring pings of "Level Up."Silence. The kind of silence that usually precedes a burial. He was lying on a beach of black volcanic sand. Beside him, the rusted wrench of the First Architect was half-buried in the tide. Further up the shore, the massive, jagged remains of Babylon lay beached like the carcass of a dead whale, its enchanted granite cracked and its violet lights extinguished."Zhao? Aris?" Han croaked, his voice raw."Over here, Boss," a muffled voice groaned. Zhao Wei crawled out from under a piece of hull plating, his massive frame shaking. He wasn't wearing his mana-reinforced apron anymore; just a tattered shirt. "The Turbine... it's dead. The System... I can't feel t

The pressure at the bottom of the Mariana Trench was over sixteen thousand pounds per square inch—a weight that should have turned Babylon into a ball of scrap metal. But Freya’s [Zero-Point Ice] held, the translucent shell glowing with a rhythmic, ghostly blue light as the mountain-fortress finally settled onto the silt of the ocean floor.[Depth: 36,000 Feet][External Pressure: CRITICAL][Status: Hull Stabilized by Cryo-Reinforcement]"We’re on the bottom," Zhao Wei gasped, his breath visible in the freezing air of the command deck. "But we’re blind. The sonar is just... bouncing off something massive."Han Jin stepped toward the primary viewport. He didn't need sonar. Through the crystalline ice, he saw it: a structure of smooth, white obsidian that defied the darkness of the trench. It was a pyramid, perfectly preserved, and it was emitting a signal that resonated with Han’s very soul.[System Link Established...][Welcome, User 001: The Original Architect.]"User 001?" Aris

The impact wasn't a crash; it was a planetary concussion. When ten billion tons of enchanted granite and reinforced alloy slammed into the Pacific Ocean, the resulting displacement sent a tsunami three hundred feet high racing toward the shattered remains of the California coastline. The air inside the Pillar of Genesis was too clean. It lacked the grit of the shipyard, the metallic tang of Babylon’s forge, and the scent of ozone that Han Jin had come to associate with survival. It smelled like nothing—a sterile, vacuum-sealed void.Han Jin stepped off the ramp, his charred [Kinetic Suit] hissing as it pressurized. Han Jin asked, his voice rasping. "You're saying this isn't a global apocalypse. It's a galactic culling?"The silver woman—the Herald—inclined her head. "Earth is the twelfth seed, Han Jin.
