Albert scratched his head. No matter from what perspective, this choice was the most correct one. Everyone could see that there was a huge gap between the two sides. Knowing the result yet still insisting on going ahead, wasn't that being a masochist?

Albert thought for a while and didn't go to the Soul Liquid House that day. Instead, he went straight back to the old mansion because even though there were alternatives, he still felt that he needed to make some preparations.

The next day, as soon as Albert arrived at the Navia Academy, he heard someone calling his name. Then he saw Kelly standing beside a big tree. Today, Kelly was wearing a navy-blue academic-style suit jacket. The tailored cut highlighted her slender waist. The golden buttons on the jacket were exquisite and shiny, adding a noble touch to the whole look. She wore a black pleated skirt on her lower body, and the hem of the skirt fluttered gently with her movements, showing the vitality of youth.

Her long hair cascaded down her shoulders like a waterfall, and the slightly curled ends added a bit of charm. Many teenagers nearby pretended to be talking with their companions, but their eyes couldn't help but glance over at her.

Kelly asked, "I heard that you're going to fight against David today?"

Albert nodded.

"Then what are you going to do?" Kelly asked with a frown.

Albert thought for a moment and said, "Most likely, I'll just admit defeat directly."

Kelly gave a light laugh when she heard that. However, there was no hint of ridicule in it. She nodded and said, "This is the wisest choice. There's no need to compete with him. With your talent, the gap between you and him will gradually narrow."

Albert nodded and said, "I think so too."

Kelly said somewhat embarrassedly, "This matter might be related to me too. I'm sorry."

Albert said, "There's a bit of that factor, but it's more about the dispute between the Martin family and the Gaunt family."

"And I feel that David is afraid that I'll surpass him, so that he'll be living in my shadow again. All his efforts over the years will become a joke."

If these words were heard by others, they would ridicule Albert for being boastful. But Kelly knew how glorious Albert had been in the past. Even she couldn't match up to that, let alone David.

"So he wants to trample you underfoot firmly when you haven't risen yet and then strengthen his own heart."

Albert nodded, "Probably that's the case."

Kelly said seriously, "If that's really the case, then I'm afraid he won't let you admit defeat today."

"Hopefully it won't be like that," Albert sighed.

Then Albert waved at Kelly and walked towards the direction of Class Two.

...

Albert's first match ended without any accident, and the second match was arranged to be the last one of the preliminary examination.

It was like a final battle.

In the square, there was a hubbub of voices and a sea of people moving around.

On that high platform, Old Dean Walton, along with tutors like Hill and Lamb from the Navia Academy, was watching the match.

The old dean asked with a smile, "I didn't expect that Albert would run into David. Do you think this match will actually happen?"

Lamb smiled faintly and said, "Dean, what's the point of such a match?"

Hill sighed softly and said, "It probably won't happen. For such a completely unequal match, it's okay to just admit defeat directly. There's no need to continue fighting. It's not shameful."

The old dean nodded and sighed, "Albert has already rushed into the top twenty. That's a very fast speed. If he's given some more time, it won't be a big problem for him to catch up with David."

Lamb chuckled and said, "I'm afraid it won't be that easy. Song Yunfeng has a seven-star beast soul and crushes Albert in every aspect. So it's basically impossible for Albert to catch up with Song Yunfeng."

While they were talking, the time for the match arrived.

David leaped up into the air and landed on the arena. His tall and straight figure and handsome face made him look imposing and noble.

With David's appearance, warm applause broke out in the arena, which showed David's fame and prestige in the Navia Academy.

Albert walked slowly onto the arena. Without any fancy way of appearing, he still made many girls exclaim, "How handsome! Much handsomer than David!"

Albert had completely inherited the excellent genes of his father and was truly a peerlessly handsome young man, far surpassing David in appearance.

However, both of them had good psychological qualities and weren't disturbed by the words from outside the arena.

Albert looked at David and slowly raised one hand before David could speak.

David said faintly, "Are you planning to admit defeat before even fighting?"

Albert said, "Are you planning to use words to provoke me?"

"It's not really provoking you. I just think that with a son like you, your parents are just seeking fame and reputation."

Albert was stunned for a moment and then said, "Impressive. A fatal blow. Since it's come to this..."

"Come on, you little bastard of the Gaunt family. I'll give you a chance, but whether you can seize this opportunity or not depends on whether you really have the ability."

When Albert said this, everyone knew that he wouldn't admit defeat. He had chosen to fight against Song Yunfeng.

However, in everyone's eyes, this kind of collision was like an egg hitting a stone, without any advantage at all.

Simon cursed from below the stage, "David is such a bastard. He's so shameless." Others echoed, "David is really using every means to force Albert not to admit defeat."

In the crowd, Adam, who was lying on a stretcher and wrapped in bandages all over his body, was also watching. He muttered, "What is Albert doing? Isn't he just going up there to get beaten?"

Dale grinned and said, “The old man’s here, isn’t he? Even if we lose, we can ask him to step in and uphold justice. After all, Sister Tina belongs to our Dragon Tooth Vein now. If she’s done nothing wrong, they can’t just kick her out, morally or logically.”“Besides, the wager only states that Sister Tina must be expelled from the Dragon Tooth Guard, with no set deadline. If push comes to shove, they could delay the expulsion for a year or two, right?”The people beside him stared at the seemingly honest Dale in silence.Turns out the quiet fellow was the best at bending the rules.Albert gave him a thumbs-up and laughed. “Great idea, brother. With that, we’re practically unbeatable!”Vance sighed helplessly. “That’s only a last-resort fallback. Word of this wager has already spread. If we exploit loopholes and break the agreement, it will stoke tensions between the two guards and spark far worse conflict.”“So it’s merely a desperate plan.”He turned to Emily. “Only by winning the

His ash-gray hair gave him a distinctive charm; he had never lost when it came to looks.Emily too had a slender, graceful figure. Don’t hold Emily back!” A playful voice called out from the crowd — it was Isabel.A faint smile appeared on Tina’s cold, gorgeous face. “Albert, my whole future rests in your hands.”The crowd burst into teasing laughter. It was Albert who broke the awkward silence. “Grandfather, it didn’t seem all that eager for my blood crystal, did it?”Thomas hesitated. “According to ancient texts, a Sacred Seed ought to grow extremely restless upon encountering the blood crystal of a Primeval Progenitor. Yet the Dragon Sacred Seed has been far too calm.”“So your guess was wrong? I’m not a Primeval Progenitor after all.” Albert scratched his head, feeling both relieved and faintly disappointed.“We cannot jump to that conclusion.” Thomas furrowed his brows. “You do not understand how Sacred Seeds behave. They never consume foreign substances lightly. But it swallowed your blood crystal just now, which means your crystal did trigger some sort of response within it.”Albert was left speechless. “Then am I or am I not a Primeval Progenitor?”Thomas looked troubled. For all his vast knowledge and experience, this was his first time running such a test, and what he was seeing deviated from every record he knew.“My hun

  • Chapter 1454

Having this possibility ruled out, Albert had no other theories left. Could it be that Weston truly suspected him of being a Primeval Progenitor and intended to eliminate him before he could grow into a threat?Albert asked, “Grandfather, are there any special marks that reveal someone is a Primeval Progenitor?”Thomas shook his head and said, “Primeval Progenitors keep their nature deeply hidden. Normally, unique portents only manifest the moment they advance to the Holy Spirit Realm. Perhaps this is how divine treasures conceal their radiance. Much like rare heavenly treasures that mask their miraculous traits before ripening, so they do not draw greedy eyes.”Albert pressed on, “Then how exactly are Primeval Progenitors born?”Thomas fell into brief thought. “From what I know, there are two origins for Primeval Progenitors: innate and acquired.”“The innate ones are born as Primeval Progenitors from the start. As for the acquired type — I mentioned this before — they are the Sacred
