"Are you sure you'll come and visit?" His mum said cupping his cheek.

He nods as though she could see him before he mumbled, "Yes mum, I promise" it makes his heart wince to see her in a condition like this.

He missed how her eyes would be if she saw him or told him how lucky she is to have him and the sad thing is all his life he's been living a lie and nothing else.

Both Mr and Mrs Russor never thought to tell him about all this but he doesn't blame them for it. They were only doing what they were paid to, if anything even more.

The sacrifice they both have made for him was something he could never repay. They've never made him feel even for once that he wasn't their son or he didn't belong.

They gave him everything a parent would give his child.

"Fine, I hope to see you soon," she says, her lips spreading into a sad smile.

Ares thought to send her to her sister's place in Georgia, it was way safe. For all he knows, the DuPont are still after him and he could risk her safety. He has lost his Dad or should he say foster Dad and he isn't willing to lose her too.

Plus he also didn't want her getting involved in any of this.

A slight knock cut them out of their mother and son moment.

"They're here" Ares announced to which she nodded.

"But what are you going to be doing here?" She asks all of a sudden.

He smiled a sinister one before breathing out a sigh, "Nothing you should worry about Mum. I'll stay here and get a job and figure something out"

"Are you sure?" She asked if concern lasted in her tune.

"Yes Mum. Don't worry about me, focus on getting better, okay?"

She nods. "But who are these people that are willing to help with my surgery?" She asked yet again.

I gulped down a numb, "A health organization" he blurted instantly chewing on his lower lip.

"Oh really?"

"Yes."

"That's very nice of them."

Ares mumbled a hmm before going to the door and slipping it open. One of David's employees walked in and the other one by the car stood.

"Make sure she gets there safe," Ares warns.

He nods, "Yes Boss."

"Mum", Ares turns back to her.

"Come here my child" She opened her hands for a soft hug knowing very well that Ares wasn't a fan of hugs at least not anymore.

He sighed, falling into her warmth. "Oh I wish your father was here with us"

He nods, "Yeah I wish so too. Uhm… you should get going now"

She nods, pulling back.

Ares guided her to the car till she was settled in before the engine roared and the car drove off.

He looked at the time on his wrist watch, he was scheduled to meet with Mr Kingsley at his office by 2pm and it was already 1:30pm.

He hissed going for the boss. He'd kill to not have to go for that meet up but David would be on his neck.

Just in time a message dropped on his phone.

He pulled it out from the pocket of his sweatpants and spoke about the devil.

Sender: David.

-You're getting late for the meeting. I'll send you a driver.

Ares hissed as he typed.

-That will be no need, I'll be catching the bus.

He hit the send button and slipped his phone back in.

He got to Kingsley Inc. two minutes late.

Walking through the bustling building each employer sent glances at him which remained unfazed by him.

He got into the elevator before it slid lock and he noticed a guard running towards him.

"That's a VIP eleva–" his words cut short as the elevator door shut.

Ares smirks dipping his both hands into the pocket, patiently waiting to reach the first floor of the building.

As the doors dinged open he stepped out walking through the hallways.

"Good day" he greeted the receptionist that was typing away on the computer ignoring him.

"H–" she cut him off.

"I heard you the first time" Finally meeting his gaze.

She took in his look, sending him glares.

"Do you have an appointment with him?" She asked to which he nodded.

"What's your name?"

"Ares Russor" he replied, roaming his stare around the place.

She made a call for a moment, probably checking in to see if he was telling the truth.

"Mr Kingsley in a minute. Go straight and take the next turn. The first office by your left is Mr Kingsley's go in and wait for him there" She guides nonchalantly as though he was of nonuse of time.

He nods as instructed. As he got there the CEO tag was plastered on the office he was instructed to go to and on the other hand was another one was another.

But somehow his curious mind led him to the other office. He scanned his eyes around making sure no one was there.

Thankfully there were no cameras at all.

Surprisingly, too.

He slipped open the door carefully, walking in and shutting the door behind.

"I said leave me!" He heard a faint voice roar urging his brows to draw together.

The voice sounded familiar but he couldn't point it out.

"Come on baby, we both know you want this" A man's voice came to his hearing yet again.

Something wasn't right. Not at all.

"Please don't do this" He heard the female light voice yet again.

He walked further into the office spotting a door slightly opened at the distant end of the office.

He walked there and just as he got there and pushed open the door his eyes fell on hers.

Elena.

But that wasn't just it, she was with Cristian DuPont pinned to the wall.

That son of a bitch

Ares blood boiled at the sight.

Not this time.

Russor regretted leaving Ares there. He could have finished him off, when he had the chance to.Why had he not loaded the gun, before now? He must make sure that Ares does not survive it, because it would be easy for him to manipulate Allison to signing everything to him.He had recently found out about Ryan, and didn't know know him, that was why he had put Allison's name as his next of kin. Russor was not stupid. The ring alone could not do so much. It was only a way to lure Elena into his lair, get hold of her, and of course, make Ares hopeless. She had suffered an external bleeding from the blow, making blood to trickle down the side of her face. She was tied up, and thrown beside her son, who laid helplessly on the floor.Russor was an epitome of a heartless demon. He could not even pity the 4-year-old boy!He asked the man to take a perfect picture of the mother and son in all angles, and sent it to Ares.He added a caption to it, which said: "How do you like this present? Any further delay, and you'll be gifted their dead bodies. I'm sure they are more important to you than that inheritance, be smart, Ares. Be smart."Allison came back from the black web. She had been there for a while, trying to track Russor's location, but it was all in vain. She needed to check up on the duo, and when she got the house, she found it strange as to how quiet it was.Could it be th

"Alright, then. Great choice you have made, Elena! You have less than a day," he said."What?" "I give you 12 hours. I believe that you are a smart woman, you can get it done in 6 hours, even. Once you get it, call me, and I will send you the location. Remember, no one. I mean, no one at all should know about this," he voiced sinisterly."Do not harm my son, please. I will bring the ring to you, just don't do anything to him," she begged, feeling a sense of guilt, for being so irresponsible."Get to it, already. Your time has already started. You now have 10 hours to go, if I were you, I would not say anything further. Good luck!" He said, and let out a wry laughter. The phone beeped. He had ended the call, leaving her to devise a plan to get the ring. She sat on the bed, and didn't feel comfortable, so she began to pace around the room, racking her head, trying to come up with something. How was she going to get the ring? Elena stepped back a little, shocked at his confession. She had not expected him to say something like that. She asked again, to confirm that she was not dreaming. He looked into her mesmerizing eyes, captured by its ocean blue orbs, feeling entrapped. He moved some inches close to her. Subconsciously, she moved back, until she hit the wall, where she could no longer move any further. He smirked, trapping her in between his arms, as his tall figure dominated her little frame.Their eyes were locked in each other's world.
