He could feel his body ache, an evidence of what had gone down in the divinity realm, and although he had a lot of questions, he was more than glad to be back.

Looking around, his eyes landed on the clock and he saw that there were only about twelve hours until the main event. Kai hadn’t thought that he was going to be able to go what Zane wanted with twelve hours more to spare.

His mind drifted to what Zane had said about Zarus coming to the human realm, but when he looked around, he realized that he was the only one who had come, and Zarus was nowhere around.

“Do you have the time now to tell us what’s going on, or should we be expecting you to go into another pull?” Catherine asked, her tone serious, but Kai could hear the plea in her voice.

It was almost as though she was begging him not to go anywhere, and looking at his palm, he couldn’t help the smile that tugged at the side of his lips.

“If I didn’t meet a certain expectation then maybe I would have gone back, but I think I ex

The maid stepped aside as soon as Kai got to the door, and Kai could see Zarus’ irritation evident in the way he glared at him, but Kai was most excited to see him.He didn’t think that he was actually going to come, when he’d heard Zane say that he, Zane, needed Zarus to be in the human world, Kai had wanted to ask if Zarus was going to come with him, but when he woke up without Zarus, he’d thought that Zane had meant after the charity auction.“What are you doing here?” Kai asked, the question directed at Zarus before he turned to the maid. “Thank you, you can go do other things, I’ll take care of this.” He said to the maid.Without any other word or any hesitation at all, the maid bowed her head lightly and left Kai alone with Zarus who looked like he needed really long hours of sleep.“The air here is so fucking impure, I felt like I was going to barf just trying to make my fucking way to this place, and this world smells like shit too.” Zarus grunted as Kai ushered him in.Kai di

“How do you feel?” Zarus asked, inspecting Kai who moved around at first, clenched and unclenched his fist, and he felt good, he felt better than the moment when the miasma almost claimed him.Although, he didn’t believe that all it would take for Zarus to be accepting of him would be for his body to almost be taken control of by an entity that would have cost him the lives of the people he loved. His mouth opened in an attempt to say something to Zarus, but he changed his mind and thinned his lips, he didn’t want the tension to linger for even a moment longer.“I don’t really know.” He finally responded although his voice was groggy, and he could also feel Drakarion prowling within him, and each breath he took felt like he wasn’t actually the one breathing.Kai could almost see the fog of his breath, his mind raced and his heart pounded as if they were both trying to readjust to the fact that Kai’s body was now fully occupying Drakarion.“That is actually normal, and it’s a good thin

His body hurts, but he couldn’t stop moving it because the moment he stopped moving his body would be the moment the miasma took over, and from everything he and Zarus had done to that miasma, he knew that regaining control would be hard.“No matter what you do, Kai Grant, do not ever concede to it! Do not give it even the slightest opening to take over you completely.” He heard Zarus shout, but Zarus’ voice was starting to sound distant.“Do you hear me?!” Zarus asked, and Kai wanted to respond, but he couldn’t. His throat felt like it was being closed up, his muscles were screaming at him to concede, but Zarus was screaming at him not to.Kai could see the look on Zarus’ face, and he knew for a fact that Zarus was worried about him. That was something he wasn’t expecting, he didn’t think that Zarus could ever worry about him.He thought that Zarus hated him, and that the reason he was even training with him was probably because Zane had asked him to, and Zane had probably threatened

The air hummed with a kind of power that was enough to bring even gods to their knees, and Zane felt it immediately, the realization causing him to storm to his feet at once. The divinity realm looked as though it had been plunged into the deepest abyss of chaos, and everywhere spun around that not even Zane could maintain his footing. He knew what this meant, there was only one time that something like this had happened, and that was when he had gotten into it with Fabio Grant. But, this was different. The power that this one emitted was akin to one of those that should rightfully be living on the Divinity realm. Zane could feel the cold chills zinging down his spine.“ZANE!” A familiar voice called, jolting him out of his thoughts and he groaned as he thought about something to say, he knew that the person calling was none other than one of the men in the council.“Why are you yelling? Has someone died?” Zane asked as calmly as he could even though he was well aware of the fact that

Kai could taste the blood in his mouth, and even his bones were starting to feel weary as he lifted his head to look at Zarus who looked equally tired. He couldn’t believe that he’d been able to hold his own for that long, but he had done it, and every time that invisible force seemed to always want to take control of him, he fought back.Zarus had told him that the only time he, Kai, was strong was when he went into the mode where he was completely oblivious of what was going on around him—berserk mode—and he was desperate to let Zarus know that he didn’t have to go crazy to beat him.“Oh, what am I witnessing?” Zarus asked, his tiredness evident in the way he spoke, they were both breathing heavily, and it was clear that they both wanted the fight to end.But before Zane would be able to acknowledge this, before they could bring whatever madness this was to an end, there had to be one winner, and Kai was desperate to make sure he was that winner.“You really seem to be holding your
