The maid stepped aside as soon as Kai got to the door, and Kai could see Zarus’ irritation evident in the way he glared at him, but Kai was most excited to see him.

He didn’t think that he was actually going to come, when he’d heard Zane say that he, Zane, needed Zarus to be in the human world, Kai had wanted to ask if Zarus was going to come with him, but when he woke up without Zarus, he’d thought that Zane had meant after the charity auction.

“What are you doing here?” Kai asked, the question directed at Zarus before he turned to the maid. “Thank you, you can go do other things, I’ll take care of this.” He said to the maid.

Without any other word or any hesitation at all, the maid bowed her head lightly and left Kai alone with Zarus who looked like he needed really long hours of sleep.

“The air here is so fucking impure, I felt like I was going to barf just trying to make my fucking way to this place, and this world smells like shit too.” Zarus grunted as Kai ushered him in.
