The library fell silent with neither of them saying anything as Kai’s feelings came rushing to him like a wrecking ball. His mouth opened but he had no idea what to say.

He didn’t think he was in love with Catherine but he knew that he was fascinated with her and she caught his eye.

Unknowingly, he was always finding himself looking at her but was that love? How would he know what love really was when he never felt it growing up?

“You’re not answering my question!” Catherine’s voice jolted him out of his thoughts and he lifted his gaze to look into her eyes.

Catherine’s chest tightened, she didn’t know why she had asked that question but she hoped that his answer was going to be a yes and then she wouldn’t be a total fool.

All her life, nothing else had mattered except for the people that took her as a family and her work, she had always tried to measure up to Fabio’s expectations even though he always made it clear to her that she shouldn’t push herself.
