His voice was calm.Lie Han's face darkened."Liu Kang!"He took a step forward, forcing himself to remain composed."What brings you to the Hell Fire Sect?"Liu Kang tilted his head slightly."What brings me here?"He chuckled softly."First Elder, you seem to have forgotten something."Lie Han's expression changed.Liu Kang continued, his eyes never leaving the older man's face."Do you remember your son, Lie Zhan?"The atmosphere immediately became tense.Several elders clenched their fists."How dare you!"One of them stepped forward, but Lie Han raised his hand to stop him.Liu Kang smiled faintly."I see you still remember him."His gaze moved briefly across the elders before returning to Lie Han."And what about Su Han? The disciple you sent after me with that tracking talisman?"Nobody spoke.Liu Kang's smile gradually disappeared."Or perhaps you remember Lie Shan better?"At the mention of that name, a few elders exchanged glances. They knew exactly who he was referring to.

  • 293: Debt to be settled

The journey back to the Azure Cloud Sect was relatively quiet. After leaving Stormfall City, the members of Divine Lightning Peak travelled together, discussing the battle between Liu Kang and Chu Wushuang. Even though they had witnessed the fight with their own eyes, some of them still found it difficult to believe that their Peak Master had defeated someone whose cultivation was several levels higher.Elder Qin was particularly pleased. He occasionally glanced at the empty space where Liu Kang should have been, a satisfied smile appearing on his face whenever he remembered the final exchange. However, when the group arrived at a junction along the route, Liu Kang suddenly stopped.Su Lingxi noticed immediately."Junior Brother, why have you stopped?"Liu Kang looked toward the distant horizon before turning to the others."I have something to take care of. You should return to the sect first."Elder Qin frowned."Something to take care of? Peak Master, you are still injured. Whateve

Liu Kang cupped his hands politely."Greetings, Headmaster."The old man nodded slightly before looking at him again."I watched your battle with Chu Wushuang. It was quite interesting."Liu Kang smiled."Thank you for your praise.""There's no need to be modest. Your cultivation is only at the first level of the Origin Realm, yet you managed to defeat a mid-stage Core Formation Realm cultivator. Such a result isn't something one sees every day."The Headmaster paused briefly before continuing."More importantly, I noticed the unusual lightning you used during the battle. It possesses characteristics I have never encountered before, and your control over it is equally interesting."Liu Kang's expression remained unchanged."Everyone has a few secrets, Headmaster."The old man chuckled."Indeed. And I have no intention of asking you to reveal yours."He looked at Liu Kang for a moment before speaking again."Have you ever considered joining the Imperial Academy?"The question caught se

Across from him, Chu Wushuang wiped the blood from his lips. His eyes remained fixed on Liu Kang, but the confidence he had displayed at the beginning of the battle was gone.He still had his spear. He still had some World Qi left. And he was not willing to accept defeat."LIU KANG!"Chu roared and charged forward. His spear shot toward Liu Kang's chest, carrying the last of his golden-purple energy. It was no longer the overwhelming attack of the Nine Dragons Sovereign Suppression. This was a desperate attempt to decide the battle before his strength ran out.Liu Kang did not retreat. He allowed the lightning sword to disappear, then gathered the remaining power he could control into his right fist.White lightning wrapped around his arm, while dark-violet arcs gathered over his knuckles. The two forces remained distinct.Chu's spear arrived.Liu Kang stepped to the side and struck.BOOM!His fist collided with the shaft of the spear. The weapon shook violently, and the force of the

The surrounding space trembled as the draconic domain spread outward, covering the arena. Several spectators immediately felt their bodies grow heavy, while those with weaker cultivation struggled to remain standing.Even the protective formations surrounding the martial arena began to vibrate under the pressure.Chu Wushuang raised his spear toward Liu Kang."Nine Dragons Sovereign Suppression!"The colossal dragon roared. Its enormous body descended, and the draconic domain tightened around Liu Kang, restricting the space around him. The pressure was far greater than anything Chu had unleashed earlier.Liu Kang's clothes fluttered violently. The ground beneath his feet began to crack as the golden-purple energy pressed down on him.Yet he did not retreat.Instead, he raised his lightning sword. The white lightning along its spine pulsed steadily, while the dark-violet energy at its edge grew increasingly concentrated. For a brief moment, the two forces seemed to move independently,

  • 289: Time to become serious

The battle continued for almost thirty minutes, with neither side able to gain an advantage over the other. However, there was one noticeable difference. Liu Kang was gradually becoming accustomed to using his Chaos Lightning Source together with his Sword Intent. Although maintaining the combination was still strenuous, he was finally beginning to understand its pattern and how to control it. Bang! Both forces collided and blasted each other apart, sending the two combatants flying in opposite directions. Liu Kang had a cold smile on the corner of his mouth, while Chu Wushuang's expression had become serious. Anyone experienced enough to understand the battle could tell that Liu Kang was beginning to gain the upper hand. "So, you've been using me for practice all this while?" Chu Wushuang asked, his expression cold. Liu Kang simply smiled, allowing his silence to speak for him. His azure robe fluttered in the wind as he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. The moment
