Anna's eyes fell on the nervous man in the cheap suit, and something clicked in her mind. This had to be Pervis's doing—another scheme to humiliate her and Noah.

"You!" she shouted, pointing at the real Dr. Martinez. "How dare you send a fake doctor to mock my friend! This is harassment!"

The real Dr. Martinez raised an eyebrow. "I beg your pardon?"

"Don't play innocent!" Anna's voice rose to a near-shriek. "Pervis put you up to this, didn't he? Sending imposters to the hospital to discredit Noah!"

"Actually," Pervis's calm voice came from behind her, "Dr. Martinez is here at my invitation. To treat my grandmother."

Anna whirled around. "Then who is that?" She pointed at the fake doctor, who was now sweating profusely.

"That's an excellent question," the head of hospital security said, stepping forward. "Sir, I'm going to need to see your medical license and credentials."

The fake doctor's face crumbled. "I... I don't have them with me."

"Then I'm afraid you'll need to come with us,"

Roden sat back down in his office chair, his phone pressed tightly to his ear as the line rang. A smile spread across his face—not one of genuine pleasure, but the calculated smile of someone about to unleash a weapon they'd been carefully preparing. The call connected after three rings."Chris," Roden said smoothly, his tone immediately shifting to something obsequious and ingratiating. "It's Gerald Roden from Whitewater. I hope I'm not catching you at a bad time.""Roden," came the response—a cultured, slightly bored voice that carried the unmistakable accent of someone raised in extreme wealth. "This had better be good. I was in the middle of something.""Oh, I think you'll want to hear this," Roden said, his smile widening. "It concerns Ms. Grace Coleman. And that special interest of yours."There was a pause on the other end, and when Chris spoke again, his tone had sharpened considerably. "Go on. You have my attention."Christopher Devoe—Chris to those few he considered equals—w

As the family began dispersing, still muttering among themselves, Isabella was helped to her feet by the guards. She looked at her grandfather with a mixture of relief and confusion. She'd expected complete destruction, but he'd shown unexpected mercy. What she didn't know—what almost no one in that room knew—was that Tony's decision had nothing to do with mercy or family love. It was strategic calculation. If the Watson theory was correct, if the Colemans were indeed orchestrating a larger attack, then appearing to cave completely to their demands would only encourage further aggression.Better to show some spine, protect the family's own, and prepare for whatever battle was coming.Back at Whitewater Corporation, Pervis entered Roden's office with measured steps. The office was deliberately intimidating—oversized desk, expensive but uncomfortable guest chairs positioned lower than Roden's own seat, and walls covered with certificates and awards meant to remind visitors of Roden's su

Tony returned to the main hall where the assembled Downey family members had been waiting, their whispered conversations dying immediately as he reappeared.Isabella still knelt in the center, her body trembling with exhaustion and fear.Tony retook his position on the elevated platform and surveyed his family with calculating eyes. He'd made his decision during the conversation with Samuel—a decision that would serve both short-term family stability and long-term strategic positioning."I've made my judgment regarding Isabella," Tony announced, his voice carrying clearly across the hall.Every eye fixed on him. Isabella's head lifted slightly, dread and desperate hope warring in her expression."Isabella will be grounded to the family estate for the next three months," Tony continued. "She will have no access to social media, no public appearances, and no contact with friends outside the family. She will attend daily sessions with a business etiquette consultant and a PR specialist t

Tony Downey's private study was a stark contrast to the grand main hall—smaller, more intimate, but every bit as imposing.Dark wood paneling covered the walls, lined with leather-bound books and expensive artwork.A massive mahogany desk dominated the center of the room, and Tony settled into the chair behind it with the practiced ease of someone who'd made countless life-changing decisions from that exact spot.Samuel Watson stood before the desk, fidgeting with his hands, his earlier desperation now mixed with nervous energy. He knew he had only minutes to make his case."Speak," Tony commanded, his fingers steepled in front of him. "And make it coherent. I don't have time for rambling."Samuel took a deep breath. "Our families are under attack, Tony. Both the Watsons and now the Downeys. And I believe we're dealing with the same enemy."Tony's eyebrow raised slightly. "Go on.""My family is being systematically destroyed," Samuel continued, the words tumbling out faster now. "Bank

The suggestions came faster now, each family member trying to prove their loyalty to Tony by proposing increasingly harsh punishments for Isabella. Some genuinely believed she deserved severe consequences. Others simply saw an opportunity to eliminate a potential rival for family resources and influence.Isabella knelt there listening to her own family discuss her fate as if she were a problem to be solved rather than a person. Tears continued streaming down her bruised face, but she'd stopped sobbing. There was no point. No one cared."She's always thought she was better than everyone else," someone said."Too beautiful for her own good. It made her vain.""I heard she treated service workers terribly. This was bound to happen eventually.""The apple doesn't fall far from the tree," another voice added, with a pointed look at Mia. "Her mother was just as arrogant when she married into the family."The insults continued, some aimed at Isabella, some at her parents, all contributing to

The east wing confinement hadn't lasted long. Within the hour, Isabella had been dragged back to the main hall—this time for a formal family assembly.Word had spread quickly through the Downey household about what Isabella had done, and now virtually every significant family member had gathered to witness her disgrace.Isabella knelt in the center of the massive hall, still flanked by guards, while dozens of Downeys formed a semicircle around her. Some stood with arms crossed and expressions of stern disapproval. Others couldn't quite hide their satisfaction at seeing the golden child finally brought low.Among the crowd were Isabella's parents—Josh and Mia Downey. Josh was Tony's younger brother, a man who'd spent his life in Tony's shadow, managing minor business ventures while his older brother built an empire. Mia came from old money herself, and their marriage had been more strategic alliance than love match. Both of them stood off to the side, their faces carefully blank, refus
