Dressed in a hoodie, facemask, and sunglasses to conceal his face, the driver looked suspiciously like he was trying not to be recognized.

For a moment, Tedmond thought the mysterious, fully covered person might have kidnapped him.

Taking a closer look, Tedmond’s brows furrowed as he seemed to recognize the figure. “Kanis?” he asked. “Why are you dressed like that?!”

Kanis glanced back at him. “I don’t want to be recognized,” he replied. “You’re lucky your identity is well hidden, or you’d be drawing too much attention.”

“Perhaps you’re right,” Tedmond replied.

They walked toward a supercar store a few minutes later to get the car they wanted. Three hefty guards stood outside the store, wearing hard, unwelcoming expressions.

As Tedmond and Kanis approached, the guards gave them a once-over. They examined Tedmond’s appearance and then shifted their gaze to Kanis.

Seeing Kanis’s appearance, the guards frowned. This company sold supercars, not rundown second-hand vehicles. They were sur

He had been wondering why Tedmond tolerated all those insults without a word, but now he couldn’t wait to see Tedmond talk back. The saleswoman stood there, stunned. “Did you just speak to me?”Tedmond replied, “I can see this is hard for you to process, but I’m here to buy a car, not to film some prank video.”Her eyes narrowed as she glared at him. “Dressed like that? How dare you!” she spat. “You’re just a broke nobody trying to act cool, pretending you can afford an expensive car!”“That’s right! How dare you talk to her like that?”"Have you no shame? You should have the money before coming here!""Did you think we'd believe your lies? You son of a bitch."“Even if you worked your whole life, you wouldn’t be able to buy a car here,” she added, sneering. “Try a secondhand dealer or a repa

Daniella flinched and slowly backed away from Kanis. She had no idea why he was acting that way toward her. She tried to open her mouth to speak, but no words came out.“There’s no use in trying to explain yourself,” Kanis added. “We already told you we aren’t interested in what you’re selling. As Kiera said, you’re trying to scam us with your tricks.”Tedmond stepped closer. “It would be better if you leave. Trust me, you don’t want to be here when I get mad.”She flinched further but refused to give up. “Just come back with me, and we’ll talk about this later. Jadii will serve you better than the others.”That was it. Kiera couldn’t let Daniella keep bothering their clients. “Security! Security!” she yelled.Daniella turned her head, not expecting Kiera to summon security so quickly. She still needed to convince Tedmond and Kanis.“Stop calling them!” Daniella yelled. “I still have to talk to the clients! They’re mine! I have to take them back!”Tedmond and Kanis turned their backs

Tedmond looked at Linn, tilted his head to the side, and thought. He hadn’t seen the man before, nor had he heard his voice. This was clearly the first time.“Am I supposed to know you?” Tedmond questioned.Linn gritted his teeth in frustration and turned his gaze from Tedmond to Kanis. “Is he trying to mock me?!” he demanded. “Do something about your driver, or you will regret it.”Kanis frowned at him. “Why do you think he’s my driver?” he asked, wanting to understand what made Tedmond look like a driver. From what he could see, Tedmond had a powerful aura he’d never sensed in anyone else.“Isn’t it obvious that he’s a driver?” Linn questioned. “He’s your driver who came with you to pick up a cat and then drive you home. Now that he’s seen me, he’s pretending not to know me to get my attention. Is he trying to get me to hire him instead?”Tedmond and Kanis scoffed at the same time. They had no idea what he was talking about but could feel the stupidity in his words.“What are you tal

A Race?Linn’s words echoed, making Kiera, who was outside the showroom, widen her eyes in surprise. She had heard about Linn’s races—he was notorious for challenging people, whether they were racers or not.She had enjoyed watching his videos but realized they weren’t as they seemed. Those he challenged were often people who had insulted his skills and claimed they could outperform him. However, witnessing it firsthand felt different. Linn had insulted Tedmond, and now he was pushing for an unfair race. Kiera’s face paled as the realization hit her. Had she been watching and enjoying bullying all this time? She had always rooted for Linn to win to see the look on his opponents' faces. Now, she felt sick.****“A race?” Tedmond asked, raising an eyebrow. “What do you mean by that?”Tedmond chose to question him instead of responding directly. He had no reason to react seriously yet.“Hah!” Linn smirked mockingly. “Are you planning to decline the challenge?”When Tedmond didn’t reply

The professional-grade track on the city's outskirts featured sharp turns, treacherous curves, and a long stretch for speed enthusiasts—a fitting stage for the showdown.Spectators packed the sidelines, some on elevated platforms, others leaning over barriers with phones ready to capture the action.Under the glare of floodlights, two identical sports cars gleamed—sleek, custom-detailed machines chosen by Linn to ensure his edge. Their engines growled, radiating power and daring the racers to conquer them.Reporters clustered near the starting line, their lenses fixed on Linn and Tedmond.Linn, in a flashy racing jacket and cap, basked in the crowd’s adoration. Kanis glanced at Tedmond and noticed the way he moved the steering wheel. His blood ran cold. “Did he mess with the steering too?”“That’s what you get for playing dirty,” Linn muttered to himself, slamming on the accelerator. His car sped forward, the damaged tire barely holding up.Meanwhile, Tedmond’s makeshift fix began to stabilize the car slightly, but the strain was evident. Sweat trickled down his forehead as he focused on keeping the vehicle on course.Kanis, gripping the door handle tightly, glanced back at Linn’s car. “He’s catching up! At this rate, we’re doomed!”Tedmond smirked despite the chaos. “Not yet. We still have a chance. As long as I’m behind the wheel, he can’t cheat, nor can he win.”Reaching into his jacket pocket, Tedmond pulled out a small device and pressed a button.Behind them, a tiny compartment on their car opened, releasing an oil slick onto the track. Linn, unable to react in time, skidded out of control, his car spinning wildly before slamming into

Oscar nodded.“Those bastards,” she muttered under her breath. “All of this happened because Otis was stupid enough to get himself that badly injured just to get back at Tedmond—and it didn’t even work. Why are they ganging up on me? If I hadn’t done what I did, Otis wouldn’t even be alive.”“Well, I was the one who prepared the documents,” Adeline continued, waving her hand dismissively. “If I hadn’t prepared them, that bastard wouldn’t have donated his blood. But I had no idea the documents were valid.”She dropped her fork and groaned.“The document shouldn’t have been valid if Otis didn’t sign it,” she added. “We even took the copy that was handed to him while he was unconscious and destroyed it. There’s no way he could have gotten all of Otis’s assets. And the lawyer told me the document can’t be used legally.”At the mention of the lawyer, Oscar’s brows rose. “The lawyer said that?”Adeline nodded. “Yes. He was the one who drafted the document to fool Tedmond.”“I see,” Oscar re

Adeline paced back and forth in her room, her fingers pressed against her lips as she tried to think. So far, she hadn’t come up with a single idea.“It was all his fault!” she yelled, running a hand through her hair, her face twisted in fury. Her room was a disaster—just like her mind.Pillows were strewn across the floor, the bedsheets half-hanging as if yanked in a fit of rage. One of the dresser drawers had been pulled out and tossed aside, its contents—scarves, papers, and makeup—spilled and trampled underfoot. A long crack ran across the mirror above the vanity, a reminder of the moment she had flung a bottle at it.Clothes clung limply to the edges of chairs, the wardrobe doors flung open, one hanging precariously by a hinge. Books lay scattered against the wall, their spines bent, pages torn. The once-scented candles were now just puddles of broken wax on her desk. She stepped over a shattered perfume bottle, its sharp scent still lingering in the air—mixing with the bitterne

Otis's breath caught in his throat. The very sight of Tedmond standing in the doorway—calm, composed, and eerily confident—made his blood boil.“What the hell are you doing here?” Otis barked, yanking the sheets off his legs like he intended to get out of bed.“There’s no need to get up,” Tedmond said before Otis could move further. “I just came to check up on you, since I happened to be so kind and thoughtful.”Hearing that, Otis couldn’t help but feel livid. He had already seen the article, had heard others call Tedmond ‘thoughtful and kind’—but hearing it straight from Tedmond’s mouth made his skin crawl.“What the heck happened?!” Otis demanded. “Did you get them to write that article just to frame me?!”“What do you mean me framing you?” Tedmond asked, arching a brow.He paused for a moment, thoughtful. He had assumed Otis must’ve seen the news—the countless notifications about losing everything. But it seemed Otis hadn’t.After waking up hours earlier, Tedmond had already finali

  • CHAPTER 248

The thought of Tedmond being punished brought a satisfied smile to Otis's face. As long as he was still Otis, the family would care for him and make sure he was well taken care of while he was unconscious.‘Tedmond must’ve been tied up and kept in custody—just in case I woke up. Then I’d decide what to do with him,’ Otis thought, lips curling into a smirk.Growing impatient, he glanced toward the door, wondering what was taking so long. Even the nurse who went to fetch the doctor hadn’t returned yet. He was starting to worry.‘Maybe I’m still dreaming,’ he thought.Just then, the door opened, and the doctor walked in. It was Dr. Richie, wearing a serious expression.Seeing him, Otis relaxed. Richie was their family doctor—someone he trusted. There was no need to worry.“How long was I asleep?” Otis asked.“Forty-eight hours,” Dr. Richie replied, walking over to check on him.“Forty-eight hours?!” Otis yelled, stunned. Two whole days. It felt like much longer. Hearing it had only been

  • CHAPTER 247

Even though Tedmond had looked strong earlier when he was discharged from the hospital, the moment his body hit the bed, he couldn’t deny how exhausted he was.He would have fallen asleep right away if not for the fact that he still had to eat—otherwise, Persis would wake him up before he got any real rest. So, he lay in bed, staring up at the ceiling. As soon as he closed his eyes and opened them again, everything around him blurred. His limbs felt heavy, and a strange chill ran through his body. The last thing he remembered was the sound of his own heartbeat—faint and sluggish. He had donated three full bags of blood—far more than any normal person should.Though he hadn’t said it out loud, just standing up earlier had taken sheer willpower. His body was running on empty. But still, he couldn’t understand why he felt that weak. The doctor had said he had more blood than the average person, and even if that wasn’t true, it still didn’t explain the overwhelming weakness.Unless... som

  • CHAPTER 246

Before Tedmond left, he stopped by Otis’s ward—and to his surprise, none of the family members were there. He had thought they all cared about Otis, which was why they had ganged up on him. But it turned out they didn’t care about Otis at all. They probably just wanted to keep him alive for their own reasons.Standing at the doorway, Tedmond looked in and saw Otis lying on the bed, the blood transfusion steadily flowing into his veins. His frown deepened. Not only had Otis harmed him to get him in trouble with the relatives, but he had also ended up receiving his blood. The memory made Tedmond feel irritated all over again. However, on second thought, he felt a bit better. He had managed to take a small dose of revenge on Otis. Once everything in Otis's name was transferred to him, Tedmond doubted the family would have any use for Otis anymore.Just then, Tedmond recalled the seal on the document. Adeline wasn’t the type to make a mistake, especially not by stamping a forged document.

  • CHAPTER 245

“Young Master, the documents are real—but the signature on the final page… it’s forged.”Thomas’s voice was cautious but steady.Tedmond’s frown deepened. “Forged?”“Yes,” Thomas confirmed. “The rest of the paperwork is legitimate—real estate records, asset transfers, bank notifications. Everything checks out. But the final signature... it’s not Otis’s. Someone replicated it. Expertly, I might add.”Tedmond sat still for a moment, his eyes fixed on the wall across from him. His fingers drummed against the armrest of the chair.“So they tried to trick me,” he muttered, a cold smile forming on his lips. “They thought I wouldn’t check.”“You did the right thing by sending it to me,” Thomas said. “If you had submitted that document anywhere official, they could’ve accused you of attempted fraud.”Tedmond leaned back. “Which means they never intended to hand over Otis’s assets in the first place. It was just bait.”“Yes.”He narrowed his eyes. “Let them come and try to retrieve it, then.”

  • CHAPTER 244

Adeline had thought it all through before deciding to provide the fake documents. And since Tedmond didn’t question it and even took his own copy, it was easy for her to realize that he had no idea whether the documents were valid or not.“How would he know?” she asked herself, her lips stretching into a wide grin. “He took the file from me without knowing it was fake.”Hearing that, the rest of the family grew curious. Harold, however, frowned almost immediately.‘Does that mean Tedmond didn’t manage to snatch anything?’ Harold thought, disliking the idea.“What are you talking about?” Tina asked, still not getting it. “How are the documents fake?”Gerald ran a hand through his hair. He had been terrified for a moment, but it seemed Otis’s assets were still safe.“I think I understand what she means,” Gerald spoke up. “Since Otis isn’t conscious and, as his father, I didn’t sign the document, there’s no way Tedmond would get all of Otis’s assets.”That was when the others smiled, mo

“The right amount of blood has been taken. You’ll need to rest for a while,” Doctor Richie said, glancing at Tedmond, who was buttoning up his sleeves.Tedmond frowned slightly, his gaze falling on the three full blood bags resting on the nurse’s tray. He knew they needed his blood, but three bags? That felt excessive.A flicker of suspicion crossed his mind. Had the doctor conspired with someone from the Griffin family to weaken him by drawing so much blood?“Although we collected a little more than usual, your blood levels are still strong,” Doctor Richie added. “You’re remarkably healthy. Not everyone could handle this.”‘A healthy donor?’ Tedmond thought, looking away.He had no intention of donating blood again—especially not to a Griffin. The only reason he agreed this time was so he could use it against Ottis later.Leaning back in the chair, Tedmond remained silent, his mind unsettled. His gaze lingered on Doctor Richie, as if trying to read the man’s true intentions.“When ca
