Chapter 3

Rey clutched a thousand Drago notes that had just come out of the ATM machine, he hands shaking with overwhelming excitement. "Finally, I can buy clothes and food," he muttered with a big smile on his face. 

Coming out of the ATM booth, Rey walked quickly towards the side of the road, hoping to catch a taxi that would take him to the shopping center. 

However, every taxi that passed by seemed reluctant to stop, the driver's eyes assessing its shabby appearance from the rearview mirror. 

Disappointed, Rey took a deep breath and looked around with a gloomy gaze. "This gap is cruel," he sighed softly. 

Having no other choice, he started walking along the busy sidewalk, towards the nearest mall that he knew. As he walked, his heart was filled with the hope that soon, he would be able to experience a little of the pleasure he had only dreamed of.

Tin! Tin!

Suddenly, Rey heard the sound of a car horn, which startled Rey, causing the man to reflex away from the side of the road.

"Sorry, I startled you," said a woman opening the car window.

Rey frowned when his saw the woman he bumped into while buying a loaf of bread.

"Where are you going? Let me take you," said the woman softly.

Rey, who was stunned, immediately came to his senses. "Miss talking to me?" he asked, pointing to himself.

"Who else? Is there anyone here besides you? Come on in quickly!" the woman scolded as she opened the car door.

Rey looked confused, this was the first time he was treated like a normal human being.

Usually, never mind talking to him, everyone just looks at him and feels disgusted, even those who talk to him just to insult or make fun of him. However, this time the beautiful woman actually invited him into the car.

"Why are you stunned? Come on in!" the woman scolded loudly.

Rey gasped, he hesitantly got into the car.

The fragrant smell of the woman's perfume wafted into his nose, making Rey's feelings drift.

The woman stepped on the gas pedal, the car left the place carrying Rey who was drunk in his imagination.

Rey smiled to himself looking at the woman who asked his to ride in the car, he looked like a fool.

The woman shook her head with a smile, she realized that Rey was watching her.

"What's your name?" asked the woman who immediately broke Rey's imagination.

Rey gasped in surprise when the woman who invited he asked his name. "R-Rey... Rey Asmodeus," he answered nervously.

"Your name is also good, like a film actor. Nice to meet Rey, I'm Avril Selia," said the woman with a smile. "Where are we going Rey?" she continued asking.

"M-Mall, I want to buy clothes," he answered, still nervous.

"Oh... okay, coincidentally I also want to go to the mall," Avril said kindly while focusing on driving.

Rey didn't speak at all after that, he was still nervous about being in the same car as a beautiful woman.

Avril occasionally glanced at Rey, who looked tense sitting with her. The woman saw that the appearance of the man beside her looked very shabby, plus his clothes had holes in them, she wondered to herself what Rey's purpose was in going to the mall.

Rey didn't say anything until the car arrived at the mall parking lot. He immediately got out of Avril's car.

"Thank you very much for the lift, Miss Avril," said Rey as he just got out of the car.

"You're welcome," she answered with a smile.

Rey closed the car door and rushed into the mall. Avril, who was curious about Rey, got out of the car and immediately followed him.

Avril is clearly afraid that Security will kick Rey out, considering that his clothes are so shabby, they don't reflect the people who enter the mall in general.

Sunrise Mall, one of the big malls in the city of Andalas, there is almost everything available, such as accessories, clothes, cellphones and others.

Avril's guess was true, just as Rey was about to enter the mall, two security guards stopped him.

"How dare a tramp like you come here!" scolded one of the security guards while grabbing Rey's arm.

"What are you guys doing? I want to shop here!" he shouted while trying to free himself from the grasp of the two security guards.

One of the security guards, with a mocking tone and a look of disdain, answered. "Tch, how can a bum like you afford to buy things here! Don't dream in broad daylight!" 

Those words were like a hard blow that hit Rey. His hand tried to reach for any handle, but the other security guard pushed him away. His body fell, hitting the floor hard.

The pain spread from his back to his entire body. Rey grimaced, trying to endure the pain. 

Standing back up, Rey adjusted his feet, looking at the two security guards with a gaze that was challenging and full of anger. Instantly, the place seemed to freeze. 

The security facing him knitted their eyebrows, their anger increasing. 

"Do you think by looking at the two of us like that we're scared?!" shouted one of the security guards while giving a signal to his colleague next to him. 

His partner was quick to respond, he approached with quick movements, his hand reached out to grab Rey's collar.

However, with quick reflexes, Rey grabbed the arm, his eyes unblinking, his cold voice cutting through the air. "I don't like someone looking down on me!"
