After bidding farewell to the unusual visitor, James rushed back to his room.

Taking advantage once again that Katrina wasn't there (where did she go?), James booted up her laptop, plugging the USB drive into the corresponding slot.

"This is going to be interesting. A glimpse of Mark in the parking lot that could be the answer to our problems, huh?" James grinned devilishly. "The guy always posed as a good guy, perfect, worthy but poor... Let's see."

James accessed the video and began to watch.

He had the same reactions as Adrian upon recognizing Briana in the parking lot footage.

Then, when she reappeared being carried in Mark's arms, James's eyebrows remained raised.

And when Briana's car nearly bounced with the effect of the drug happening inside it, James tilted his head back, laughing heartily.

"HA, HA, HA, HA! Mark, you pervert! You—"

James interrupted his laughter, suddenly realizing the information.

Mark was the first man in Briana's romantic life!

Jake returned from lunch to find the air at the ‘Times of Glory’ set heavy with unease. The preoccupation was almost tangible: everywhere, murmured conversations and worried faces filled the open lot of Glamour Studios.Rumors about the hospitalization of Manager Vasconcelos were spreading like wildfire.Karl sat on a decorative boulder that had once been part of a medieval battlefield set, a lunchbox balanced on his knees. The smell of Thai food drifted in the afternoon air.He hadn’t dared to drive out for lunch, preferring not to risk his life or Luana’s over a meal.“Thai food, Supervisor Carvalho?” Jake asked, walking up to him.“At least I’m still alive,” Karl muttered, offering him a bite with a wave of his chopsticks. “Want some?”“I already ate at Sweet Aroma,” Jake replied.Karl gestured with his chopsticks, his voice low and pragmatic. “No one’s using their cars. Everyone’s jumpy. Some folks are saying we should shut down filming for the day.”Jake frowned. “What? I still h

  • Chapter 888 Panic... Again...

At the elegant restaurant where they were practically regulars, Gilson and Claudia sat in their usual corner table, a spot perfectly located between discretion and display. The establishment, known for catering to the refined palates of Braspolis’ upper echelon, was conveniently close to Vasconcelos Company, which made it a favorite lunch escape for the couple.Gilson, however, was distracted. His eyes kept darting toward the entrance, scanning the room for a certain someone. He had hoped to enjoy lunch with Celia and perhaps have her for dessert afterward. But since Celia was currently with Katrina and Patricio, Claudia had seized the chance to drag her husband along instead.Claudia closed her eyes with a sigh of delight as she savored a bite of smoked Calabrese sausage in garlic and herb sauce.“Mmm,” she murmured. “You have to try this, darling.”Gilson, forced into civility, took a forkful and tasted it. But the moment he closed his eyes, the memory that surfaced was far from cul

  • Chapter 887 Warning Her Like a Thug

At the entrance of Braspolis General Hospital, an ambulance screeched to a halt, nearly colliding with a few parked cars. The back doors flew open, and paramedics rushed out, wheeling Briana carefully on a stretcher toward the hospital entrance.Mark followed close behind, his suit jacket gone, his face marked by raw anxiety.Inside, in the corridor, Dr. Vargas was already waiting.“Dr. Vargas, aren’t you off duty?” a nurse asked, surprised.“Briana Vasconcelos Ferro needs immediate care,” he replied firmly. The nurse exchanged astonished glances with the others, whispering among themselves, wondering how Vargas had managed to take personal charge of such a case.Moments later, Mark appeared with the paramedics, his wife unconscious on the stretcher, her hair clinging to her damp forehead.“Her room is ready,” Vargas said.Mark’s voice trembled, stripped of all composure. “Save her, Dr. Vargas. Please.”“You have my word,” Vargas said calmly, signaling for Mark to stay behind as he fo

  • Chapter 886 The Emotional Video

Mark and Briana stood close together against the pale wall of her office. Luana stood across from them, holding up Mark’s phone — a fancy J.J. model, the kind that promised perfect HD and 4K clarity. She didn’t stop to wonder how Mark had managed to afford such a top-tier phone; her only focus was helping her friends deliver their message.“All right, you two,” she said with a bright smile. “Let’s do this.”Mark straightened his shoulders, adopting the calm authority of a man accustomed to addressing an audience. “Hello, everyone. This is Mark Ferro, manager at Glamour Studios. I’m here with my dear wife, our general manager, Briana Vasconcelos Ferro.”Briana rested a gentle hand over her belly, glowing with quiet pride. “Hi, everyone,” she said warmly.Mark’s tone grew somber, heartfelt. “I want to address those who, for whatever reason, believe our shows are corrupting morals or distorting society’s values. We’re truly sorry you feel that way. Our only goal is to entertain.”Briana

  • Chapter 885 Karl Carvalho… Was It You?

Katrina paced in tight, restless circles around her office, her movements sharp and ritualistic, like a tribal dancer invoking a storm. When Celia entered and saw her like that, she froze for a moment, startled.“Miss Vasconcelos! You need to rest for the baby’s sake!” Celia rushed to her side, grasping her gently but firmly by the arms to stop the erratic pacing.Katrina blinked, as if waking from a trance.“Hm? Oh… it’s you, Celia.”“You need a cup of tea,” Celia insisted, steadying her.“I’m not sure that’s safe for the baby,” Katrina murmured.“Walking in circles like this certainly isn’t,” Celia replied, steering her toward a chair with the same patience one would use with a fragile old lady.Katrina sighed as she sat. “There. I’m comfortable now.”“Can I help with something?” Celia asked.“It’s my brother,” Katrina said, pressing a hand to her temple. “He’s determined to help Uncle Sandro and Aunt Nadir, not realizing they’re setting him up to knock him down later.”Celia’s brow

  • Chapter 884 Good Luck, Chris

Gilson sat behind his desk, smiling with the satisfied mischief of a boy who had just gotten away with something forbidden. The memory of the previous night still lingered in his mind = Celia’s cries and delirious moans echoing like a soundtrack of sin. They had gone at it until five in the morning, and even now, as the sunlight crept through the blinds, the recollection made him close his eyes with a perverse sense of triumph.“Celia,” he murmured to himself, his voice low and smug. “Your body belongs to me. That’s why Jake threw you away.”The door opened. Claudia stepped in.There was a strange, silent understanding between them. Two people united by appearances, divided by everything else.Gilson had spent the night indulging one of his lovers, and Claudia, on her own, had been equally compromised in another man’s bed.Neither had the courage to ask where the other had been.“Is there a problem, Claudia?” Gilson asked, slipping easily into his role of master pretender.“I just cam
