Richard stood by the large iron gate of the Robertson mansion, staring at the signed papers in his hand. His fingers trembled slightly as he touched the edges of the document.

Richard's face went pale. He had tons of questions, but he didn't know where to begin or what questions to even ask. He waved his hands in the air, and immediately the waitress who waited on him before rushed toward his table. “Can I get your orders, sir?” she asked with a smile. “Get me a glass of whiskey,” Richard said immediately. The girl looked at Richard; she could see that he had another look entirely on his face. She walked away without making any comments. Meanwhile, the man sat down with an air of confidence. “I know you have tons of questions to ask me, but I won't be answering all of them. Not today.” He adjusted his seat and bent a bit. “But you can ask me one question. Just one.” Richard knew the question to ask. “The system—have you been giving me the task right from the start?” The man smiled. “That is a wise question, Richard. But the answer to that is no. The system was built specifically for you alone. I don't have any interference with it, although it acti

You’re scaring me.” Her eyes were fixed on him.“Don’t move yet,” Richard murmured. “He’s still watching.”“Are you sure he is one of Bishop’s men?”Richard hesitated. “I don’t know. I am not sure if he is here for me… or because of me.”Dianne looked down, her fingers twisting nervously on her lap. “I shouldn’t have come here. You should’ve just texted me.”“Do you think I anticipated this?” Richard shook his head. “If something is happening, I’d rather you be where I can see you.”Her eyes glistened with emotion, but Richard didn’t have time to comfort her.He watched the man again. The stranger wasn’t blinking enough. His posture was too stiff. And he tapped his fin

It suddenly felt like the whole place was watching them even though no one was.“Richard… what do you mean?” she finally whispered.Richard rested his back on the chair and exhaled deeply. His eyes shifted away, like he was looking at a memory far behind him.“Everything I know about myself… everything I believed… it’s all a lie,” he said quietly.Dianne blinked fast. “You’re scaring me. What do you mean?”Richard rubbed his temples slowly. His head felt heavy. He didn’t even know where to start.“I don’t remember my parents. I don’t remember my childhood. Peace? It really wasn't in Richard's dictionary the moment he tried to outsmart Thomas Bishop. The house was silent again, but Richard’s mind wasn’t. His head felt heavy, his chest tight. I need to handle something first.”“Got it. But boss…” Tony paused. “You sound off. Are you alrigh
