Richard smiled as soon as the young man agreed to the bet, he then turned to the young salesgirl, Evelyn, "Shall we head over to the footwear?"

"Yes Sir, Right this way Sir." She said and walked towards another section. Richard followed behind her.

They got to the footwear section and Richard saw all kinds of footwear neatly placed on racks. He tested a few of the ones that caught his attention.

"I want this and this." Richard said and pointed a sneaker worth $10,000 and a sandal worth $5,000. Richard would have felt his heart bleed if the system didn't have the 10× rebate function on his spendings.

"Now, for the moment of truth. Let's see if your pocket is as big as your courage." The young man sneered. He straightened his suit and walked ahead as if he couldn't wait to win the bet. Richard smiled and followed him as well as the salesgirl to the payment section.

"Sir, total purchase of everything is a hundred and ten thousand." The cashier said. At first she had a look of shock on her face, but after taking in Richard's dressing, she had a look of disdain on her face.

Richard didn't mind, he could see Evelyn fidgeting on other side.. she had a pleading look on his face, perhaps praying he has the money to pay for all he's selected. To this, he smiled.

"Oh, it's this little?" Richard said and took out his card. He handed it over to the cashier to run it. She took it and hissed, expecting to see a decline, but then..

DING!

It was successful? She looked sharply at Richard who had a smile on his face.

"Since it's done, I'd like my card please." Richard said casually.

Meanwhile the young man and Karen were both shocked and silent at this moment. Richard didn't even spare them a glance as he took his card with a wide grin on his face.

«Ding!

$110,000 spent!

10× rebate in effect!»

«Ding!

$1,100,000 has been awarded to host.

Host's bank account has been upgraded.»

Richard's phone vibrated in his pocket, he knew the reward had been transferred to him. He then turned to the equally stunned Evelyn.

"Bag all I've purchased, thank you." Richard said. She nodded, and he could see her eyes shone with newfound respect. Richard inwardly shook his head, truly money could buy anything and everything.

Richard then turned to the young man, Mister Larson, and the narcissistic Karen. "Now, what say you Mister Larson, I've just won the bet, so now you have to reimburse me for all I've spent." Richard said in a firm voice that left no room for arguments.

"It-it.. I didn't m-mean it." Larson stuttered. How could he even reimburse the man in front of him when all he got from his father was $20,000 monthly. Even the Ford suit he bought was the cheapest which was four thousand, and yet this man had just paid up more than a hundred thousand like it was nothing.. and yet he has called him a beggar? Who amongst them was the beggar here.

"I'm sorry, but a bet is a bet, you have to honor it. Or do you plan on going back on your words?" Richard said with a smirk on his face.

"N-no, no-not like that.. h-honestly I was simply joking then, yes, that's it, I was simply joking." He stuttered.

"A joke?" Richard laughed, "Oh please, if I didn't have the money, you'd have broken my legs as you said you would." Richard said, his eyes were icy cold.

As soon as Larson heard this, he wished he hadn't been bold to say that. It was because of Karen! That golddigger. If she didn't have a beautiful face and sexy figure, he won't even spare her lowly self a glance. And now he had offended someone who must probably be on par with his father.

Then to everyone's shock, Larson went on his knees with a thud. He placed his forehead on the ground in an apologetic bow. "I'm truly sorry, please forgive me this time." He said in shaky voice.

"Tsk! Doesn't matter, I already knew you won't be able to afford it." Richard said, and then turned to Evelyn who was now standing beside him with shopping bags.

"Thank you." Richard thanked her as he took the bags from her, and then he remembered something, "Please, get me a limited edition women's purse. I have to get something for my wife. Don't worry about the price, just get it." He said with a smile. Evelyn nodded. Meanwhile Karen was now shivering as she stood quietly. She had just seen Larson fell on his knees in front of th man she had disrespected. She couldn't imagine what he would do to her now.

"Here you go Sir." Evelyn returned quickly with a red purse. It was adorned all over with red diamonds. He could already imagine Diane loving this new purse.

"Fifty thousand, Sir." The cashier said, but this time, there was no look of disdain in her eyes. Richard handed back his card to her.

Richard took out his phone and went straight to his bank wallet, then handed the phone to Evelyn. "Please, put in your bank account detail."

"Sir?" Evelyn was confused at first, but seeing that assuring smile on Richard's face, she nodded and took the phone. And after doing what he asked, she handed it back to him. She watched as he typed on his phone, and a few moment later, her own phone vibrated in her back-pocket. She took it out, stared at the phone's screen for ten seconds, looked at Richard, back to her and to Richard again.

"Thank you for everything." He said. She had placed her trust in him when she had a thousand reasons not to, and even defended him at the cost of losing her job. He decided to reward her for her kindness.

Meanwhile the cashier stretched her neck and peeked at Evelyn's phone.. her eyes went wide with shock!

"FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND!" She screamed out!

There and then, Karen's legs lost balance and she sat on the floor in shock. The only thought that was in her head was: she had messed up big time and lost a big catch, even bigger than the bratty Larson.

"You can start up your own business if you want to, and I'll be your number one customer." Richard said with a smile and then walked out with his shopping bags full of clothes and a limited edition bag. Leaving Larson still on his knees and Karen sitting on the floor.

He hailed a cab back to the hotel.. he will be heading to his wife's company after dropping his clothes in the hotel.

The news spread fast — faster than anyone could have imagined.By the next morning, every corner of the Warren company was buzzing. From the cleaners in the hallway to the executives in their glass offices, everyone was talking about one thing — Richard Tucker. Some called him lucky. Others called him clever. But everyone agreed on one thing — what he did was unbelievable.“How did he even pull that off?” a young employee whispered near the elevator. “The Robertson Group never signs deals easily. Especially not with someone like him.”“I heard he begged Sarah Robertson herself,” another one said, lowering her voice. “Maybe he even worked for her for a while.”“That can’t be true,” someone else joined in. “I heard she likes men who are bold. Maybe he charmed her.”The group laughed softly, but the sound carried down the hall. Rumors like that always did.By noon, the whole company knew that the man

He knew this fight wasn’t over — not yet.Kathleen’s eyes were sharp as knives as she looked between Richard and Brian. “You think you can walk in here and embarrass my family? You think one little scene can change what we already know about you?”Richard said nothing. He only stared back, calm and quiet. He had earlier wanted to speak up but the firm hands of Dianne pressed against his arms had him under control. Kathleen turned to Brian with a softer tone. “Don’t mind him, Brian. He’s just desperate. Trying to make himself look good in front of everyone.”Brian adjusted his tie and tried to recover from his earlier shock. “Mrs. Warren, you don’t have to explain anything. Some people just don’t know when to accept d

For once, he wanted to make him feel small.“You look surprised,” Richard said slowly, his eyes locked on Brian’s. “Don’t tell me you didn’t expect to see me alive?”Brian’s jaw tightened. “You should have stayed gone when you had the chance.”Dianne glanced between them, confused and tense. “Richard, what’s going on?”Richard didn’t answer. For a moment, he thought she was joking, but the calm and confident look on her face told him she wasn’t.“I don’t understand,” he said slowly. “You mean you’ll give me the contract… if I kiss you?”Sarah folded her arms, watching his every move. “Yes. One simple kiss. That’s my condition.”Richard looked away. He didn’t want this. He had promised himself never to betray his wife, Dianne. She was the only person who stayed with him when everyone else turned their back. She was the reason he kept fighting. Even when her family threw him out and called him worthless, she still held his hand and said, ‘We’ll make it.’And now… this?“I can’t,” Richard said, his voice low. “Please, don’t do this.”Sarah raised an eyebrow. “Don’t do what? It’s just a kiss. Not a marriage proposal.”“It’s not just a kiss to me,” Richard replied, his tone firm. “I’m marrie
