Marcus staggered back, clutching his cheek, his face red with anger.

His eyes narrowed as he glared at Snow, his voice rising to a shout.

"How dare you! Do you have any idea who I am? I’ll have you thrown in juvenile delinquency prison for that! You can’t just slap me and get away with it!"

Snow stood her ground, her eyes blazing with fury. "You keep my mother’s name out of your mouth! I won’t let you insult her or make a mockery of her. You have no right!"

Marcus cursed under his breath, his face twisted with rage. "You little brat! You think you can come here and act all high and mighty? You’re nothing but trash from the slums, just like your brother!"

Barry stepped forward, his eyes hard and his voice low but dangerous. "That’s enough, Marcus. You’re going to grovel and apologize to my sister right now."

Marcus laughed, a harsh, mocking sound that echoed through the lobby.

"Apologize? To her? Barry, you must be stupid. Do you think you’re some big shot now? You’re still the same

Barry stormed back into the mansion, his jaw clenched and his fists tight at his sides with controlled fury. Veronica and Snow were waiting in the living room. The fire crackled softly in the hearth, casting warm shadows across the marble floor. Veronica stood up immediately when she saw him enter."So, honey," she asked softly, cautiously searching his face. "how did it go?" Barry didn’t sit. He stayed standing. "Just as we suspected. The Order created the virus. They released it into the world to manufacture panic and profit off the vaccines. Vince admitted it outright." Snow gasped, her hand flying to her mouth. "How horrible! Have they no heart? Millions of lives were lost because of them!" Barry’s eyes darkened. "And they don’t care. Vince sees it as nothing more than a business strategy to boost demand. They inflated the numbers with media manipulation and scared the world into obedience." He clenched his fists. "But he’s not going to get away with it. I’m not stoppin

  • Vince

A few days later, Barry and Sebastian arrived at the headquarters of Pharmcorp. The moment they stepped inside, they were greeted by a team of executives in crisp suits, all wearing practiced smiles. At the center of the welcome party stood John Vince himself, his silver hair perfectly combed, his tailored suit immaculate. "Mr. Sullivan," Vince said, extending a hand. "What an honor it is to host the wealthiest man alive. We’re delighted to have you here." Barry ignored the handshake, his expression cold. "Cut the bullshit, Vince. I’m here to talk about your new vaccine. The one you ‘miraculously’ discovered three weeks after the world fell apart. I want to see it." Vince’s smile remained fixed. "Of course," he said smoothly. "Right this way." He led them through the sterile, white corridors of the facility, past security checkpoints and into the heart of the building—the high-security laboratory where the vaccines were produced.Scientists in lab coats moved between machin

  • The pandemic

The world was thrown into chaos as a new virus began spreading across continents. What started as isolated cases quickly escalated into a full-blown global pandemic. Within weeks, over twenty million people had lost their lives, and countless others were being infected every hour. Hospitals were overwhelmed, and the streets grew silent as fear took hold. Those who caught it experienced dangerously high fevers and relentless vomiting. In many cases, the virus progressed so rapidly that patients had only days—sometimes hours—before their condition worsened beyond recovery.Governments around the world declared a state of emergency. Borders were shut, businesses shuttered, airports closed, and cities locked down. Daily life grounded to a halt as people were forced to isolate in their homes, hoping to avoid the invisible threat. Barry sat on the couch, his eyes fixed on the news as the anchor delivered the latest update about the virus. He reached for the remote and switched off

  • Forgiveness

Snow and Veronica were seated in the guest room, serving Loid small portions of his breakfast."Father-in-law, try this porridge," Veronica said softly, holding up a spoon.Snow was dabbing at his mouth with a napkin. "You must eat your fill, dad. You need your strength."Just then, the door creaked open and Sebastian quietly."Miss Snow," he announced, "your brother has returned." Snow's eyes brightened with excitement as she and Veronica exchanged glances. "Finally, I was getting tired of waiting. Let them in," Snow said.Sebastian stepped aside—and Barry walked in, followed by Leo and Iris. Loid, frail and propped up against pillows, slowly turned his head. He caught his breath when his gaze landed on Leo—his long-lost son, the living image of the woman he'd once loved and failed. "Leo...?" Loid whispered, his voice trembling. Leo stepped forward, his throat tight. "Father." Their word hung in the air, heavy with decades of absence. It was the first time Leo was seeing

  • The message

Leo pulled out a chair from the boardroom table, the legs scraping softly against the polished floor. He sat down, crossing one leg over the other as if he owned the place. "Relax, Daniel," Leo said, his voice steady. "I only came to say hi." Daniel’s face turned red with fury. He instantly snatched the phone receiver from the table and jabbed a button for security. "What the hell is wrong with you people?" he snarled into the phone, his voice sharp enough to make his executives flinch. "Why did you let this rat into my building? Do you want to lose your jobs?" The person on the other end stammered a response, but Daniel cut them off. "I don’t care! Get up here and throw him out now, or every single one of you is fired!" He slammed the receiver down so hard the phone nearly bounced off the table. Leo watched him, unfazed. His fingers drummed lightly against the armrest of the chair. "What have I ever done to you," he asked quietly, "to deserve being treated this way?" D
