Sofia moved backwards, realizing what she had done. Though she wanted Edward out of their lives, away from her daughter, she wasn't prepared to let the cat out of the bag so soon. She wasn't in the position, at least not when Edward and Ava were not yet divorced. To her, it would be better if Ava disclosed such news to Edward, considering who Ethan was to Edward. But the next minutes? Who cares, she hissed. Edward was a nobody. So such rules didn't apply here.

Edward's eyes brimmed with anger that threatened to consume every soul in the room. "Answer me. Is it Ethan Gavins or another Ethan?"

One step. Two. He started pulling his feet, which now felt so heavy, towards Ava. As far as he was concerned, Ava owed him an explanation. She needed to tell him it was someone else not who he was thinking. At least that would lessen the pain and the weight of the betrayal.

"Talk to me." The yell tore out of him, raw and unrecognizable. He looked from Sofia's smug mouth to Ava's downcast eyes. "Is it Ethan Gavins that we all know? Or another Ethan?"

"It is," Sofia yelled, mustering some courage.

The deed was done. So it was better they sort it out so they could all stop hiding the identity of Ava's new man. It wasn't like Edward could do anything to Ethan. Ethan was in a high position, way higher than Edward. The highest Edward could do to them was break down and cry like a baby in their presence, disrupting their peace. Nothing more.

Edward staggered as he lost balance.

It was barely twenty-four hours since he found out there was a man taking up his place in Ava's life the woman he truly loved. Now he got to find out it was Ethan Gavins. His younger brother? It was all too much.

Edward's head banged at the confirmation. Ethan. The golden child. The one who had stood beside their father when the disinheritance papers were signed. The one who had inherited Edward's future his company shares, his trust fund, his seat at the family table. Everything he had ever had since he was a child. Now he had come to take the last and only thing he had left.

"Ahh, you mean Ethan?" His voice erupted into thunderous laughter.

His eyes found their way to Ava, who was standing. Her heads down as if searching for something on the floor. That was Ava when she had done something wrong and couldn't face the person. Edward didn't need her to answer for confirmation. Ava's silence was the loudest answer, and that confirmed everything.

At that moment, something broke in him. He was never going to mend this shit. He was never going to cry in front of these people. He was never going to be that husband Ava had known all her life. He didn't care if Sofia had pushed her into doing this. She wasn't a child! She had done this, all he knows, and nothing is going to mend it. He was a man of worth. It didn't matter if he had money or not. Edward Gavins was not a man to take shit. In fact, he had been too calm because of Ava. He had turned into a crying baby, a weak man because of her. Now he was back to the old Edward the one before Ava came into the picture.

"I will never forgive you, Ava," he said.

And in a swift motion, he was out of the sitting room. He slammed the door shut then hopped on his bike.

It was time for some revenge. All the things he was going to do henceforth was to make everyone pay. Anything that involved him begging for Ava to take him back? He was never going to be seen around such shit. In an instant, he was out of sight.

Edward pulled over outside a villa. The villa was located on a private street. Not anyone had access, as it was only people from the upper class that could freely visit. Anyone from the lower class seen around was either a staff of the Gavins or a staff of the Gavins yes, only workers from the lower class were ever seen around on the private street that belonged to the Gavins. Though it had already been a year since he stepped foot anywhere near the Gavins' private street, everything still looked the same.

For once he never begged to take back that position even though it broke him down, yes he had cried but never begged Caleb that man was evil.

"Sir, I'm sorry, but you are not allowed here. It's an instruction from the boss," a man putting on a black suit said.

Edward knew him. He was the personal assistant to Ethan Gavins the bastard he was there to see. There were two villas on the street. One for him and one for Ethan, his brother. Their parents lived in a big mansion at the end of the street, still a few minutes' drive away. Edward shook his head. He had not been wrong when he decided to check his own villa first to see if Ethan now lived there before checking Ethan's. It baffled him how much Ethan must have prayed for him to be disinherited.

"John, I'm sorry, but if you don't leave the way, I'm going to hurt you badly," Edward threatened, walking towards the man.

John didn't push him or try to fight. Even though Edward was no longer the man he used to be, his demeanor was still the same, scaring the shit out of him.

"I understand, Mr. Edward, but this is an order. I'm just here doing my job. It will be better if you leave, else I will have to give the security men instruction to forcefully take you out of this private land."

"Let him be." A voice said, followed by a dry chuckle. "It seems you finally found out my little secret, brother."
