Chapter 151

Just as James was about to be led out of the reception hall by the ESU agents, a team of military personnel stormed into the building, sent by Jonathan Princeton through General Arnold, himself. They swiftly surrounded James and the agents, creating a tense standoff.

Mr. Sterling was confused. He didn't know why the military was present. Williams, too, was curious to find out why.

He thought Mr. Sterling was aware of the development, so he gave Mr. Sterling a side eye, and Mr. Sterling understood. He shook his head, indicating his own confusion.

The confusion on everyone's faces was clearly visible.

"The military is here." A close friend of Kate whispered to her from behind. "What do they want?”

"It's clear that they're here to also arrest James." She replied, grinning from ear to ear.

“What if they're here to support him?” Someone asked her.

"Support James? How?"

"Maybe they're here to stop the arrest."

"That's impossible! I hope they don't make things worse."

Chapter 482EMC HR – Kate’s SchemeThe overhead lights hummed in EMC’s HR department, casting a pale glow over rows of sterile cubicles. Kate Carl sat hunched at her desk, her eyes sharp behind square-rimmed glasses. Her pen moved with practiced precision across the forged report — a damning performance review bearing Ana's name. The scent of lavender from her desk diffuser did little to mask the acidic ink or the bitterness curling in her gut. Each stroke of the pen felt like revenge in motion.> “Not a team player. Poor time management. Potential security concern.”The last phrase was underlined twice. The perfect red flag.Justification was easy. Ana had too much influence. Too much access. And she was beginning to ask questions — the kind that drew unwanted attention. Kate’s plan wasn’t personal. It was survival. But then came the unmistakable sound: heels — sharp, deliberate — clicking on the polished floor.Alisha.Kate didn’t look up immediately. She didn’t have to. The rhythm

Chapter 481 EMC Boardroom – James’s Probe The lights in the EMC boardroom hummed softly overhead, casting a pale blue glow over the minimalist furnishings and the polished walnut table. James leaned over the digital display, his knuckles whitening as he gripped the edge. The image of a data flow chart blinked in red—Morris’s name highlighted like a warning flare. “Eric,” James said tightly, not looking up. “We’ve got a trace—backdoor traffic routed through one of Morris’s deprecated credentials.” Eric adjusted his tie, as though the silk might stiffen his backbone. He frowned. “That doesn’t make sense. Morris has been with us fifteen years. If he was planning something—” “He is planning something,” James cut in, finally meeting Eric’s eyes. “Or he already did.” The tension between them buzzed, barely contained by the sleek glass walls of the room. Eric ran a hand down his face, then stepped back, trying to process. “Sterling is as loyal as they come. He was cleared last quarter

One hand gripped her phone, the other gestured wildly as if trying to push the urgency through the signal.“Eric, you have to listen,” she said, her voice low but intense. “James isn’t paranoid—something’s moving under your feet and it’s not a glitch.”On the other end, thousands of miles away in London, Eric Wood stood in his dark-paneled study, the heavy curtains drawn shut against the waning afternoon light. A fountain pen clicked rhythmically in his hand as he stared at the ledger open on his desk, blank except for the margins scribbled with notes—Morris, Oslo node, Sterling? He sighed. “Lana, you realize what you’re suggesting? That Sterling, of all people, planted a virus in the core systems? It’s absurd.”“You said it yourself,” Lana snapped. “The Oslo breach wasn’t random. James traced

Chapter 479The warm Aegean breeze swept through the open windows of the villa, carrying the faint scent of salt and blooming bougainvillea. Outside, Lana twirled gracefully on the sunlit terrace, her laughter ringing out like bells, carefree and unburdened. Inside, Ellen moved quietly through the cool whitewashed room, the wooden floors creaking softly beneath her steps. Her fingers brushed against the edge of a small device nestled inside her luggage—a blinking, unfamiliar light pulsing like a heartbeat. Her breath caught. Heart racing, she carefully lifted the device, clutching it close as if it were a fragile secret. The glow of the screen illuminated her determined face, eyes sharp and focused. Ellen’s gaze flicked toward the terrace where Lana was still dancing, oblivious to the tension simmering inside the villa. She slipped the device beneath her blouse, concealing it from view.As she watched Lana, Ellen felt a pang of guilt. She had always confided in her friend, but this

Chapter 478James’s office at EMC was a sleek, glass-encased sanctuary overlooking the sprawling city below. The soft hum of the air conditioner blended with the faint tapping of keyboards from the open-plan floor beyond the glass walls. Yet inside, the atmosphere was anything but calm.James sat behind his minimalist desk, fingers steepled, eyes sharp as they pinned Niles in place. The technician shifted uneasily in the visitor’s chair, his glasses sliding down his nose, hands nervously wringing together.“Niles,” James began, voice steady but edged with steel, “there’s an anonymous account wreaking havoc on our ledgers. I need answers.”A flicker of panic crossed Niles’s face. “I—I’m not sure what you mean,” he muttered, avoiding James’s gaze.James leaned forward, the overhead light casting shadows across his chiseled features. “Cut the act. You’ve had access to the system. Tell me what you know.”The technician swallowed hard, throat working visibly. “I didn’t touch anything, Jame
