CHAPTER 84

Jessica was in her room, she was exhausted and acting sluggish. She couldn’t shake the feeling running through her mind.

She had already arranged her dress for her dinner date with Lawrence Nelson but she wasn’t willing to go out. Just then the door creaked open and her brother strides inside with a serious demeanour.

He was shocked to see his sister in her pyjamas and her top and moved towards her with his face etched with worries.

“Why are you not dressed yet,” he vehemently asked. “Ain’t you going out with Lawrence Nelson again, don’t tell me you changed your mind.” He said, giving her a cold stare.

Jessica sighed in frustration, with her face buried downward. “I… I don’t think I can go anymore.” She said with her voice barely above a whisper.

“What do you mean by that, Jessica? Don’t tell me you are thinking about Jason or have you forgotten what Lawrence Nelson had done for us, including how he paid Mum’s medication bills.” Danny said firmly.
