The news traveled fast—faster than wildfire in a dry forest.

Inside the Shaw mansion, Katherine shrieked with laughter as she tossed a glass of champagne into the air, uncaring when it splashed onto the marble floor.

“He’s finally where he belongs!” Katherine squealed, spinning around to hug her mother tightly. "Locked up like the filthy street rat he is!"

Mrs. Shaw clapped her hands together, her diamond bracelets jangling with excitement. "Oh, darling, you’ve outdone yourself this time! That pathetic househusband finally learned his place."

James lounged lazily on the sofa, a satisfied smirk playing across his lips as he scrolled through his phone.

"Didn't I tell you?" James said, puffing out his chest. "Give me one night, and I’ll turn him into a broken dog."

"You’re amazing, James!" Katherine gushed, her eyes practically glittering. "You actually did it."

James winked at her, then made a casual call, tapping his phone screen with a smugness that reeked of victory.

"Yeah. He's in holding now," James said into the phone, voice low and sinister. "Make sure he doesn’t forget this night for the rest of his miserable life."

There was a pause, and then James chuckled darkly.

"Break a few ribs if you have to. Teach him some respect."

Katherine giggled behind her hand like a giddy schoolgirl.

"Make it hurt," she whispered, barely able to contain her excitement.

Tonight, the so-called Yemin Morgan would finally be crushed.

Meanwhile, back at the jail, the atmosphere was heavy with the stench of sweat, piss, and old anger.

Yemin stood by the iron bars, his hands casually stuffed into his pockets, watching the lazy officers behind the desk.

"I want my phone call," he said, his voice steady but sharp enough to cut through stone.

The cops exchanged smirks like schoolboys hiding a prank.

"Phone call?" one of them scoffed, chewing gum loudly. "Who do you think you are, buddy? Some kind of celebrity?"

Another officer laughed so hard he nearly fell off his chair.

"Yeah, sure. You can call your mommy after we’re done showing you how we treat car thieves here."

Yemin’s eyes narrowed.

Pathetic. Brainless attack dogs.

Before he could say another word, two officers grabbed him roughly by the arms and dragged him down a dim corridor.

The door to the holding cell swung open with a loud metallic clang.

Inside, a group of men looked up—tattooed, rough, grinning with broken teeth and bloodshot eyes. James’s goons.

One of them, a hulking brute with a snake tattoo curled around his neck, cracked his knuckles and grinned like a wolf.

"Look what we got here, boys," he drawled, stepping forward. "The big shot who thought he could swim with sharks."

Another man laughed and spat on the floor.

"You scream all you want, pretty boy. Ain’t nobody comin’ to save your ass."

Yemin’s lips twitched, almost in amusement.

They think this is going to scare me?

The door slammed shut behind him.

The air thickened with the heavy stench of violence.

"You should’ve known better," Snake Neck sneered, circling Yemin like a vulture. "When real men talk, little punks like you crawl away with your tails tucked."

"You thought drivin’ a fancy car makes you a big man?" another thug jeered. "It just means you’re a bigger target."

The gang closed in, their boots scraping against the filthy floor.

"On your knees, boy," Snake Neck ordered, jabbing a thick finger into Yemin’s chest. "Maybe if you beg real nice, we’ll go easy on you."

The rest of the cell exploded with laughter, banging fists against the iron beds and walls.

Yemin looked around slowly, his face utterly calm.

"No thanks," he said dryly, his voice slicing through their jeers like a whip.

Snake Neck’s grin widened.

"Suit yourself. Break him."

The first punch flew.

Yemin Ravollor stood motionless in his living room, the evening sun casting long shadows across the imported marble floors of their penthouse. Spread across the mahogany coffee table, evidence of his wife's betrayal lay in stark detail – surveillance photos, hotel receipts, and a record of calls that painted an undeniable picture of infidelity.Katherine strode in, still wearing her tailored Chanel suit from the office, her Louboutin heels clicking against the floor with practiced authority. "Well, well," she drawled, regarding him with disgust, manicured fingers trailing across the photos. "So you've been crawling around gathering intel like a little roach, have you? How fitting for someone of your... position."The photos showed her entering the Grand Plaza Hotel with James Franx, her arm wrapped intimately around his waist, her smile more genuine than any she'd given Yemin in months. "I deserve an explanation, Katherine."A sharp pain twisted in Yemin’s chest, but he forced his

The divorce was finalized, Yemin was gone, and now all that remained was to erase his presence from her life entirely."Get rid of all this junk," she ordered the house staff with a wave of her manicured hand. "You think making a phone call will change anything? Who are you trying to impress? You think we don’t know you're just putting on a show?"She shook her head in mock pity, her voice dripping with disdain. "Pathetic. The sleek black Chevrolet glided through the evening traffic, its polished exterior reflecting the city lights. Inside, Yemin sat calmly behind the wheel while Faye fidgeted nervously with the hem of her dress."I still think this is a mistake," Yemin said, his voice measured. "Katherine's invitation isn't genuine. She wants revenge."Faye sighed, looking out at the passing buildings. "I know, but what choice do we have? Peter's hosting it personally. After what happened with Tommy, we can't risk offending him again."Yemin's lips tightened slightly. He knew more than he was letting on, but explaining would accomplish nothing at this point. Some lessons had to be learned through experience."That's a nice car for someone who was supposedly broke just weeks ago," Faye remarked, changing the subject. "I remember giving you rides because you didn't have transportation."A faint smile crossed Yemin's face. "People see what they expect to see."The flash of blue and red lights cut through

Katherine paced across her luxury apartment, the clicking of her heels against marble echoing her mounting fury. She paused before a large mirror, her reflection revealing not just her flawless appearance but the cold calculation in her eyes—eyes that had once looked upon the Yemin with love, now blazing with hatred."I can't believe that bastard showed up at my party," she seethed, gripping her phone tightly. "Of all people, my ex-husband decides to ruin the most important night of the year."James lounged on her designer sofa, scrolling through his phone with casual indifference. "Babe, why are you so worked up? We've got Peter hosting an even better party now."If only James knew who the Yemin really was to me, Katherine thought, careful to keep her past marriage secret. They need to learn their place."James

"Some truths are better revealed through experience," he replied, his voice calm and measured. "Tomorrow will be... educational for them."They'll learn soon enough what kind of man Peter really is, he thought, picturing Katherine's inevitable disappointment when reality collided with her fantasy. As they walked toward the exit, Katherine and her entourage emerged from the private room. The tension in the room remained palpable, with everyone still processing Peter's dramatic change in attitude. Peter stood nervously before the Yemin, his earlier aggression completely dissolved into deference. He cleared his throat and glanced around the room, his eyes landing on the "Happy Birthday" banner hanging limply from one wall."Wait, is this a birthday celebration?" Peter asked, his voice unnaturally cordial. His gaze settled on Katherine, who was still clutching James's arm.Katherine nodded hesitantly. "Yes... it's mine," she stammered, utterly confused by the shift in dynamics.Peter's face brightened with an artificial smile. Perfect excuse to get out of here with some dignity intact, he thought, mentally calculating how to extract himself from this humiliating situation without losing more face."Well, this is unfortunate timing," Peter said, spreading his hands apologetically. "To make amends for my subordinate's disgraceful behavior, I insist on hosting a proper cele
