After a while, the doctors were told to dispatch and so they left the room.

Logan slowly walked towards his father whose skin was rather pale with a heavy heart. A heart filled with guilt that if he had known he never would have left.

“Hi son, it's been a while. I have missed you.” An old man in his early fifties Terrence Bentley uttered;

Logan in shock was consumed with sadness. The man he calls his father was the opposite of who was beside him right now. Seeing his once vibrant father, down him this way due to ALS was almost as though he was dreaming.

“Dad!!”

“Son, I am sorry for everything. I know that you feel my actions were desecrating your mother's legacy, all that she was. But I will tell you the reason why,"

Logan's hatred for his father's love for womanising was undisputed, but he wanted to know why he would do that to his own wife.

“When your mother died, I lost my purpose in life, she was my everything. My strength, my joy and my better half, so losing her to the cold hands of death made me sad and heartbroken. I kept frolicking about not because I like it, but because it helps me pass through the pain of losing her. I know you love your mother and you thought that what I was doing was hurting her, but it was just my own way of surviving through the pain left in my heart. Your Mother, Mira was and will always be my everything. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me son and come back home.”

“Why didn't you tell me any of this earlier? I resented you for it but you never said anything or that this was how you felt inside.” Logan uttered.

“Haha, how could I tell you? You are just as hot-headed as I am, you will never have listened to me then son. You are the exact replica of me in reasoning and you took your mum's stubborn nature, that's quite a combination don't you think?”

They laughed out loud as they both recalled a scenario from the past that proved it.

It was quite a funny scenario because Mira Bentley was the queen of the household. While she was alive she did so many things due to her stubborn nature.

One of the things that made that stand out was when her doctor had prescribed that she should stay away from one of her favorite foods, giving her enough reason why she should.

After the doctor left, at 12:00 midnight, she snuck out of her room, slowly went to the fridge, took out her food, microwaved it just the way she loved it, all this in the dark.

When suddenly the light switch turned on and everyone including her husband whom she left in the room stood staring at her, her son too she couldn't help but feel embarrassed but her words were;

“Since I am caught, there is no need to hide this anymore.” She brought out a big piece of chocolate and took a huge bite making everyone around her laugh out loud.

So remembering such still made both father and son happy like it happened just yesterday, as it was an experience they will never forget in the long run.

“Son, I am so sorry for everything I did wrong. I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me, I loved and cherished your mother and I always will. Please forgive me.” Mr Terrance Bentley uttered genuinely.

Seeing his current condition and having listened to his expression of love for him and his mum, he chose to forgive him.

He wasn't so perfect as well, if he was, he wouldn't have been betrayed by the very woman he loved.

“I-I forgive you dad.”

“That's all I ever wanted to hear, thank you son. Anyways, the reason you are here is because I want you to take over the family and its business, it's too huge for me to keep watching over. As you know my strength is failing me, it's high time you took over everything while I watch from the sidelines.” Mr Terrence said somewhat enthusiastically.

“Isn't just the oil company located in Amsterdam the only one we own?” Logan asked as he knew nothing much about his family's source of income.

“What? You really have a lot to learn… Damon, come in.” Terrance uttered and the old man walked in, handed a pile of documents to Logan and walked away.

This was a father and son moment so his presence would be obstructing.

Opening the documents, Logan was shocked beyond words, all he knew was that his family were very rich and well-known in the city, but what he didn't know was how wealthy and powerful his family really was. This was more of an eye opener for him.

He didn't have the concept of all this, until today.

“You are shocked right? We run the oil shell group here in Amsterdam, our family owns General Motors and Ford which is one of the biggest mobile companies in the world. We also own ‘Blue Net Group’ amongst others.” Mr Terrence Bentley retorted.

“Wow!! That's one huge organization.” Logan exclaimed in shock.

“Of course, did you think your mum and I played all our lives? All of this is for you son, you are the heir to everything.” Mr Terrence retorted and continued; “All these are yours, but you will have to earn it, there is just a little bit of clause in there, I am sure you can do it.”

“Tell me dad, what is it?” Logan asked with curiosity.

Mr Terrance coughed really hard as he was using his strength to keep his son entertained.

“You will have to go to Southern California in Los Angeles for six months, there you will take charge of Blue Net Group as an heir apprentice so as to gain experience and exposure. Oh so you can also solve the problems you made from your little marital issues, what do you say?”

Logan became embarrassed by the fact that his father knew how foolish his life had turned out after cursing and leaving home three years ago because of young love, and now all that was futility.

Three years of his life wasted, which led to him being imprisoned.

Noticing the sadness and embarrassment on his son's face, Terrance calmly said;

“Come on son, I know everything going on with you, so don't feel that way. It's all part of the experiences to make you a man. Your ex-wife and her lover did set a trap for you to fall into even more debts, this is an opportunity to get them both for it. They will never see you coming, don't you want that?"

"More than anything!"

"Good to know, oh this reminds me, you do remember Patricia Howard from the Howard family correct?”

    As the night grew deeper, the table emptied, leaving only Logan, Alexander, Seraphina, and Udinov nursing their drinks. Patricia had gone to check on a renovation project upstairs, giving Logan a rare moment alone with his children. He leaned forward, resting his arms on the table. “You’re all too busy.” Seraphina smirked. “That’s rich, coming from you.” Logan chuckled. “I know. But when was the last time you all sat like this? No boardrooms, no deals, no strategies?” None of them answered and then Logan sighed. “You were raised to be strong, to command, to win. But power without family means nothing.” Alexander exhaled, rubbing his temples. “You’re getting sentimental here, Dad.” “Maybe,” Logan admitted and continued; “Or maybe I just don’t want you three to lose what I fought so hard to build, which was not the empire, but this.” Alexander tapped the rim of his glass. “And what exactly is this?” Logan looked at them, they were his legacy, his greatest creations, he utt
