019 Her Role Model

"You slithery bitch!" the guards roared, rushing after Felicity. "Get back here!

"CEO Valery Frost! I need to talk to you!" she shouted, running faster so as not to get caught before reaching her target.

At the podium, Valery furrowed her brows in irritation. What could this deranged woman possibly want now? She had no intention of acknowledging her or giving her a second of attention.

Back in the Chairman's office, Valery had told Leonard that the Gambino group could easily make both Victor and Felicity disappear from the world without a trace.

The Gambino heir had ordered her to leave the couple untouched. If not for his mercy, Valery would have ended this ungrateful witch already.

The guards finally caught up, seizing Felicity by the arms and yanking her back.

"Miss Frost, please!" she cried out, frantically struggling. "I just need a minute!"

Valery kept her eyes fixed elsewhere, as if this desperately crying woman were invisible. Simon Mercer stepped forward to chastise her.

"Can't you see that madam wants nothing to do with you?" he snapped. "Get lost before you get hurt!"

"Miss Frost!" Felicity begged, wriggling against the guards' vice grips. "It's a matter of life or death! Won't you even hear me out for once?"

Valery was about to command the guards to throw her out when Leonard intervened.

"Let her come," he said quietly, only for Valery's ears. "Or she'll never give up and create a bigger scene."

Valery gritted her teeth, resisting internally against her master's orders. Why was he still bothered about this woman who hurt him badly? Even mercy has its limits.

Regardless, she nodded at the guards. "Let her through."

The guards released Felicity at once. The latter's eyes brightened in relief, and she hurried forward, rubbing her sore arms. "Thank you for this chance, Miss Frost."

"You have a minute," Valery said coldly. If this bitch stepped out of line again, she wouldn't shy away from strangling her with her bare hands.

Felicity gulped anxiously and nodded, feigning obedience. "Miss Valery Frost. I have always been your fan, even though this is the first time I've seen you in person."

"I've always admired you, ma'am. You're my role model. That's why I'm speaking up in this case. I only want what's best for you."

"Oh?" Valery's tone carried genuine surprise. "Go on."

Felicity pointed towards Leonard. "It's about the man standing beside you."

Simon shook his head and rolled his eyes. This woman was digging her own grave. She should have escaped while she could.

A cold gleam flashed in Valery's eyes, but her face stayed calm. "What about him?"

Emboldened, Felicity turned towards Leonard with open contempt. She had prepared a speech.

"A woman of your standing shouldn't be seen with trash like him. He's a leech. Keeping him around will only ruin you."

She leaned in. "Just yesterday, my mother told me some woman helped this pest buy the Reishi Royale mushroom. Now I realize that woman was you!"

"One day, together with Leoanrd, and he's already making you spend millions on herbs! Can't you see? He's only using you to drain your wealth!"

Valery let out a low chuckle. "And what if I enjoy being drained by handsome, strong men like him?"

Felicity's face twisted in disbelief. "What?"

Seeing Valery's amused expression, a forced laugh escaped her. Of course, the CEO was joking about Leonard's attributes. She pressed on.

"There is no justification for enjoying being looted in broad daylight. If you surround yourself with men like him, how will you ever rule the world?"

"Ma'am, this way you'll never be able to rule the world. I know you're powerful and are entitled to have male pets, but seriously, get rid of this loser immediately! If you need a man, choose Victor. He's the perfect match for you!"

"Oh really?" Valery exchanged a quick, amused glance with Leonard before looking back at the pleading girl. "Isn't Victor your fiancé?"

Felicity flushed but nodded. "Yes, but you can have him."

Near the door, Victor's eyes lit up with excitement. That's my girl! What a solution! Her ambition and hatred towards Leonard trumped her attachment to her lover.

If Valery actually accepted him, all his problems would vanish instantly. Not only would he secure the partnership deal, but he would also have the power to make a hostile takeover of the Harrington company.

Besides, Valery was an exquisite woman; he never approached her out of fear alone. He had never expected Felicity to become his wingman. This was perfect!

However, Valery's next words crushed Victor instantly.

"But I am smitten with Leonard. If he wishes, I'd gladly give myself to him." She shot Leonard a flirtatious smile and blushed.

The entire hall fell deathly silent. Valery Frost, the untouchable CEO of Eclipse Consortium, had just offered herself to Leonard!

Every man in the room stared at him with raw envy and jealousy. What insane luck! The gods had blessed Leonard!

Felicity's face twisted with rage. Her fists clenched until her nails bit into her palms.

"Miss Frost, with due respect, how can you want a man like that? Leonard will only drain your wealth dry! That's all he's good at! He did the same to me!"

Valery had been waiting for this moment. "Is that so?" she asked, her expression glacial.

"If I know correctly, you were the one who drained him. He gave you his bone marrow out of love. He spent every cent he earned buying you fruit while you were in the hospital. He ran errands for you until you got a job at Langford Enterprises. And you dare claim he used you?"

Felicity's face, which was brimming with expression, suddenly crumpled like paper. She had been caught in her lies and confronted with the toxic truth.

Valery stepped closer, her voice piercing like jagged ice. "After everything Leonard did for you, you dumped him and ran into another man's arms. Did you think your sins would be forgiven?"

"I—I—" Felicity stammered.

Valery lowered her voice so that only a few could hear. "Victor beat him half to death and threw him in a cage to be eaten by dogs."

Now she roared for the entire hall. "Tell me, you ungrateful, heartless bitch! Do you think you have the right to insult him?"

Her eyes hardened. "And never call me your role model again. I don't need someone as wicked and cheap as you looking up to me. It would only bring me bad luck."

"Get out of my sight before I lose all restraint and rip your eyes out!"

Felicity's face burned with humiliation. She had only tried to advise Valery out of kindness.

Why was she being scolded so harshly instead of being thanked? What was so special about Leonard that Valery defended and desired him so fiercely?
