After his master’s departure, Wang Chen had no reason to remain in this place any longer.

This place was a small pocket realm, only a few square kilometers in size, like being inside a massive cavern with no entrances or exits. It was illuminated by runes carved into the ceiling and the walls of the cave.

However, since Ling Zhizun’s death, this place would only last for a few more days. Yes—without a power source to sustain them, all the runes here would soon become unusable.

So how could Wang Chen leave?

Naturally, Ling Zhizun was not foolish enough to create such a place without an exit. He had created a special exit in the form of a teleportation rune.

Wang Chen was now standing atop that rune array. About twenty runes were arranged in a circular formation, with Wang Chen at the center.

He channeled his Qi into the runes, and all of them began to emit a golden glow, growing brighter and brighter with time.

“Ugh… my Qi is being drained at an insane rate!” Wang Chen felt like he was about to faint as his energy was rapidly depleted, but he endured it until the rune array fully activated. Then, together with the light, he vanished.

This teleportation rune did not have fixed coordinates, so it would send Wang Chen to a random location. Whether he would remain within the Cloud Empire or be flung into another empire entirely, Wang Chen had no idea. He could only hope to be teleported somewhere that wouldn’t bring him trouble.

The light from the runes faded away, and Wang Chen disappeared with it.

In a forest somewhere, a battle was underway between a young man and a ferocious beast—a bear over three meters tall, with spikes covering its back that crackled with lightning.

Both sides were already injured, yet they continued to fight relentlessly. The young man was extremely agile, his fists shrouded in flames, but the massive bear was also incredibly fast.

The young man retreated and struck the bear, causing it to stagger forward, then unleashed a flurry of attacks until the bear finally collapsed face-first onto the ground.

He leaped into the air, and all the flames from his arms swiftly gathered into his raised right leg. Then he plunged downward, delivering a powerful kick.

But before his kick could land, the spikes on the bear’s back released bolts of lightning that struck the young man.

“Arrrggghhh!!”

He screamed in agony and fell to the ground, landing right beside the bear.

The bear struggled to rise, growling with rage. It stood up, looming over the young man whose body was convulsing, unable to move.

“Roosarrhhh!” The bear roared and swung its massive claw.

“Damn it!” The young man could only curse, powerless to stop the attack.

But suddenly, something fell from above and smashed violently into the bear’s head, killing it instantly. The bear collapsed lifelessly beside the young man.

“Huh?” The young man was confused for a moment before realizing that what had fallen from the sky was actually another young man, now unconscious.

“It seems miracles really do exist,” he murmured, unable to comprehend how someone could fall from the sky and crush the bear’s head, saving him from certain death.

Feeling that his body could move again, he took out a pill and swallowed it, then lay down to wait until he recovered a bit.

After feeling somewhat better, the young man stood up, breathing heavily.

“This bear was insanely tough. I hit it so many times, yet it kept standing and fighting,” he snorted, then turned toward his savior, stared at him for a moment, and made a decision.

**

Wang Chen slowly opened his eyes. His vision was blurry at first, but after a few seconds, it gradually became clear.

“Huh?” Wang Chen was confused when he saw a ceiling above him. He felt himself lying on a soft, comfortable bed.

He turned his head left and right, realizing that he was now inside a room.

Recalling what had happened last, he remembered activating the teleportation rune and then fainting. After that, he remembered nothing—he had no idea where he had been teleported to or how he got here.

Yet now he was inside a room. Could it be that he had accidentally been thrown into someone’s bedroom? What if this belonged to the emperor’s wife or someone of extremely high status? Wang Chen could already imagine himself being castrated in public.

“Gulp!” Wang Chen swallowed hard. He got up, intending to sneak out quietly.

But suddenly, the door opened, causing Wang Chen to freeze. He turned toward it and saw a young man about the same age as himself entering the room.

“Oh, you’re finally awake. You were unconscious for a full day,” the young man said with a friendly smile as he approached Wang Chen.

“Huh?” Wang Chen was momentarily confused before grasping the likely situation. “Did you save me and bring me here? Where is this place?”

“Haha, actually, it’s the other way around—you saved me. And yes, I’m the one who brought you here. This is the Chu Family residence. Let me introduce myself, I’m Chu Yan.”

Chu Yan introduced himself with great enthusiasm; it was clear that he was a passionate and energetic person.

‘Chu?’ Wang Chen had never heard of the Chu Family before. Sensing Chu Yan’s aura, he could tell that this young man was clearly at the same level as him—early-stage Martial Spirit.

No one in the Cloud Empire could reach such a level at such a young age. That meant this young man came from outside the Cloud Empire. In other words, Wang Chen was no longer within the Cloud Empire.

“Ah, I’m Wang Chen from the Cloud Empire.”

“The Cloud Empire? So you really came from far away,” Chu Yan nodded in understanding. “This is the Chu Family residence in Wuho City. In this city, there are four great families, and the Chu Family is one of them.”

“Oh, right. Brother Wang, how did you fall from the sky?”

“Huh?” Wang Chen was confused by Chu Yan’s question.

Chu Yan then recounted what had happened—how he was nearly killed by a ferocious beast when Wang Chen fell from the sky and smashed the beast’s head, killing it instantly.

‘Something like that actually happened?’ Wang Chen was stunned. “Before that, I entered a certain place, and a beam of light struck me, knocking me unconscious. After that, I don’t remember anything.”

“Hm, there really are many mysterious places in this world,” Chu Yan said, not suspicious in the slightest.

Wang Chen became alert. His Qi had yet to fully recover; it had not completely returned since the battle against the Wolf King. He was also unable to use Rasenshuriken, as that technique required an enormous amount of Qi.‘This giant scorpion sensed the moment someone took the item it was guarding. That’s why it woke up immediately when I picked the poisonous herbal flower—even though I had already concealed my presence so well.’ Wang Chen snorted in irritation. He had been too careless earlier. He should have been patient and waited until his Qi had fully recovered before taking action. But it was already too late for regrets. There was no point dwelling on it now—he had to focus on the enemy before him.Wang Chen steadied himself and carefully observed the giant scorpion. The creature was clearly enraged, furious that the treasure it had been guarding had been stolen. From its mouth, the giant scorpion spat out thick, dark-purple liquid.Wang Chen instantly sensed danger from that p

“Hahaha… this is it—Rasenshuriken. No one can survive my Rasenshuriken!” Wang Chen felt extremely satisfied.Wang Chen had never thought that this dream of his would come true. He used to only fantasize about it, and now that the fantasy had become reality, it filled him with a unique sense of pride. He continued to stare at the white wind explosion with a wide smile. When the blast finally subsided, he walked toward the massive crater created by the Rasenshuriken.Looking down into the crater, Wang Chen saw the Wolf King lying dead, its body drenched in blood.“Haha, even the effects are exactly the same as I knew.” Wang Chen grinned. The Wolf King that had been struck by the technique looked as if it had been pierced by thousands of extremely thin needles repeatedly and without pause, completely severing and destroying all of its meridian pathways. Even a late-stage Martial King would inevitably end up critically injured—or even dead—if hit by that attack.Wang Chen panted heavily a

  • Ch.39 - Futon! Rasenshuriken!

Wang Chen was going to hunt Lightning Wolves that lived in the forest east of the Starry Sky Sect. The distance was quite far—it took two days of travel for Wang Chen to arrive there. And this journey was not done by walking. Wang Chen moved at high speed, faster than any of the fastest cars on Earth. He leapt from one tree to another while continuously scanning his surroundings, searching for traces of the Lightning Wolves. Soon, Wang Chen discovered a pack of wolves resting in the midday shade. Some were sleeping, while others were feeding on raw meat. They were Lightning Wolves. These Lightning Wolves had white fur and stood around two meters tall. Wang Chen could tell that their cultivation levels ranged from Core Formation to Martial Master. Lightning Wolves were known for their speed and agility—hence the name Lightning Wolves. Wang Chen smiled, then immediately took out his artifact weapon. The artifact was originally in the form of a sword, but it instantly transformed in

  • Ch.38 - First Mission

For two full days, Wang Chen trained a technique deep within the forest. Now, the forest where he had practiced was completely devastated. Many trees bore deep concave marks shaped like unique spirals, several had been uprooted and toppled over, and the ground was riddled with craters of various sizes. There was even a massive crater with a diameter of more than a hundred meters. Wang Chen was currently standing inside that enormous crater. It had been created by the technique he had practiced—no, the technique he had created himself. “Haaah… haah… haaah…” Wang Chen panted heavily from exhaustion. Yet despite his fatigue, his face was filled with satisfaction, a feeling he had never experienced before. Suddenly, Wang Chen burst into laughter like a madman. “Hahaha… I’ve mastered it! This isn’t a dream anymore! I can actually use that technique! Hahaha…!” This was a move he had dreamed of for a very long time. Although Wang Chen had imitated it from his idol, it could still be said

  • Ch.37 - Special Artifact

Wang Chen was currently in his residence. An outer disciple’s residence was only a small dwelling, but it was more than sufficient because it was fully equipped—with a kitchen, a dedicated cultivation room, a bedroom, a bathroom, and even a small library.Wang Chen was inside the cultivation room, not cultivating, but instead formulating poetic inscriptions to create an artifact. He had been working on this project ever since reaching fourth-tier Poetry Master, and he still hadn’t completed the formula, let alone begun crafting the artifact itself.Fortunately, his master had previously helped him with this idea and provided many suggestions, allowing Wang Chen to grasp the general outline of his goal.“Heheh, alright, one part is finished,” Wang Chen smiled after completing one section of the formula—but it was only about five percent. “Still, I haven’t put it into practice yet. I won’t know whether there are any mistakes until I actually do it.”Wang Chen realized that he had to sta

He immediately leapt and landed right in front of the person who had spoken. The man was stout, with a thin beard and mustache, and his expression was filled with arrogance.“Who are you? Were you the one who ordered Ju Sing to fight me?” Wang Chen became suspicious of this man, because he was not wearing the robe of a Bamboo Martial Court disciple. Moreover, his movements were clearly suspicious. From the beginning, Wang Chen had already suspected that Ju Sing had been instructed by someone to provoke him. Otherwise, when Chu Yan tried to stop them, Ju Sing would not have
