In a forest lit by the moon, a girl stood, weaving golden threads around her. But something else caught her eye. Yes, the threads were interesting, but it was the boy standing a distance away who truly drew her attention. The odd part was that even from far away, she could see his striking blue eyes—like sapphires. Their gazes locked together as if they were magnets, and neither of them moved closer. It felt like they were both frozen in place. She wanted to walk over to him, but just as she made a move, she was suddenly awakened.
"Lyrra! Wake up!" She opened her eyes to find her coworker and best friend, Emily, looking angry. Emily, who was 5'4" with wavy dark brown hair and hazel eyes, had a classic and elegant presence that radiated confidence. She was quite attractive. With her arms crossed and a narrowed gaze, she stood in front of Lyrra's desk. After a sigh, she said, "You’re sleeping on the job again." Lyrra quickly gathered herself, using her hands to smooth her curly hair and adjust her clothes. She mumbled an apology, but Emily wasn’t interested in hearing it. "How can you sleep on the job again? What if it had been me who walked in? What if it was our boss? You could get fired!" "I know, I’m sorry! It won’t happen again," Lyrra said, putting her hands together in a pleading gesture and making a cute face. Emily frowned in response, clearly unimpressed. "If you're trying to be cute, please stop; it's not working," Emily said, rolling her eyes. she placed a folder on her desk with the name 'Michael Johnson' on it. "Here’s your next client," she said as Lyrra picked it up and looked it over. "Isn't he the same guy who has been coming here for the last three years?" Lyrra asked. "Yeah, I think he's really struggling with his divorce, so we thought a new therapist might help. Let's see if there are any changes," Emily replied. Lyrra nodded, understanding her role. As a therapist, she had been working at the clinic for years and had never grown tired of her job; in fact, she enjoyed it. "When is he coming?" she inquired. "Right now," Emily said with a sheepish grin. "What?! Like, right now?" Lyrra asked, surprised. "Yes, he’s actually waiting just outside your office," Emily said as she moved toward the door. "I'll call him in," Emily replied, blowing a kiss as she left. Lyrra sighed; she loved her job, but at that moment, she felt a bit worn out and still needed to sort out a strange dream that kept bothering her. A knock sounded on the door, and she called out, "Come in." A man in his early 40s entered. She put on her professional smile and stood up. "Mr. Johnson, it's nice to see you," she said, offering him a seat before taking one across from him. With his file, a book, and a pen in hand. he responded, "I know you guys must be tired of seeing me, right?" He spoke softly, his head down. Lyrra looked at him with compassion and responded. "That's not true; we’re always here to help in any way we can. So, shall we get started? Are you ready?" He nodded in agreement. "Okay then." They began their work, and a few hours later, they finished the session. "Alright, Mr. Johnson, our next meeting will be next Thursday at the same time, okay?" "Yeah, sure." They both stood up, and she guided him out. Afterward, she returned to her desk and sat down. There was a knock at the door, and she invited the person in. Emily walked in and took a seat. "So, how did it go?" Emily asked. "Well, he is really struggling. He must have loved his wife a lot," Lyrra replied. "Yeah, I could sense that when I talked to him." "But I’m going to do everything I can to help him. I’m feeling tired and hungry," she said as she stretched. "Good thing it's lunchtime! Let’s go to the restaurant down the street; it’s just a ten-minute walk from here. I’ve heard their food is really good." "Sure, I could definitely use a good meal." Emily smiled and shook her head. They both got up and headed to the restaurant. Lyrra arrived home around 7 p.m. Feeling too exhausted to cook dinner, she headed straight to her room to prepare for bed. Once she was ready, she climbed under the covers and picked up her phone to check her messages. Just then, she noticed an incoming call from her mom. She sighed tiredly before answering. "Yes, Mom?" a woman's voice came from the other end of the line. "Why do you sound like you don't want to talk to me?" "Well, I just got back from work, and I'm really tired and ready to sleep." "Still, I'm your mom; you should never be too tired to talk to me." "Mom, just tell me why you called." she was becoming irritated "Oh, right! I wanted to remind you about your cousin's wedding in two weeks on Monday. I hope you haven't forgotten." "I haven't forgotten. You sent me messages and even an email about it," she rolled her eyes. "Good to hear. Whatever you have planned that day, drop it and come. You have to be there—no exceptions, no excuses. Who knows, maybe you'll find a boyfriend, which you really need since you've been single your whole life!" Lyrra sighed; she didn’t have time to argue with her mom right now. "Okay, if that's all, I'm ending the call. Bye." "Wait, don't..." But the call disconnected before her mom could finish. Lyrra silenced her phone and placed it on the lamp next to her bed. "Boyfriend? please, and Single my whole life? I think I dated once. Whatever, time to dream about that mysterious man," she thought as she drifted off to sleep.

"Let me clarify this: you dreamt about him, can hear what people are thinking, and both of you see golden threads connecting you. Am I right?" Eryn asked. "Yes. I know it sounds unbelievable, but it really happened," Lyrra said, trying to convince him. "I understand," was all Eryn responded. "Do you actually believe us?" Kael inquired. "I do," Eryn answered. "Really?" Lyrra questioned, surprised that he would believe them so easily. "Aren't you a scientist? I thought people like you didn't believe in things like this," Kael said, but Lyrra nudged him with her elbow. "What's wrong with you?" she whispered to him before turning back to Eryn. "So, can you help us?" "Hmm, how can I be sure you're telling the truth?" Eryn asked. Lyrra thought for a moment and decided to try using her mind-reading skills. "Let me read your mind," she suggested. He stared at her for a bit. "Okay, go ahead," he replied. "I need to touch you; can you give me your hand?" she asked. Kael looked at th

Lyrra sat in her office, and today there were no clients. She was waiting for Emily to finish up so they could talk. After a little while, Emily entered and took a seat across from Lyrra's desk. "You wanted to talk to me?" Emily asked while stretching. "Yeah, I need your help with something. You have a friend who knows a friend, who has a cousin that knows another friend who is a scientist, right?" "That's a lot of friends you just mentioned! But yes, I do know someone. What do you need?" "I actually need the scientist's help. Can you tell me how to reach him?" Lyrra said. "Sure! I have his number; I can just give it to you." "Really? Emily, you're amazing! I appreciate it so much!" Lyrra exclaimed happily. "Wow, you must really need his help if you're this excited and saying nice things to me! But what do you need his help for?" Emily asked with curiosity. "I'm not sure yet, but I'll let you know as soon as I find out," Lyrra promised. "Okay then." ------------------- Afte

" Nice place," Lyrra remarked as she looked around. "That's not the reason you came here. It's a condo, not a house," Kael replied while sitting down on one of the couches. "Same difference. You live in a house, and you also live in a condo," Lyrra shot back. Kael shook his head and sighed. "Let's just talk about why you're here." "Why are you so eager?" Lyrra asked as she settled onto the couch opposite him. "What do you mean, why am I eager? Aren't you curious about what's happening between us? You said you daydream about me." "Excuse me, I do not daydream about you," Lyrra defended herself. "But that's what you told me," Kael smirked. "No, I said I saw you in my dreams; it's different." "You saw me in your dreams; that means you daydreamed about me. Either way, your mind was filled with thoughts of me," Kael said sarcastically. Lyrra tried to stay calm. "You're right. Let’s just get this over with. Do you know what's going on?" "Nope, that’s why you're here—to explain it

"And your schedule for next week..." Aria listened as her assistant went over her modeling appointments for the upcoming week. They were in her living room, and she couldn't help but wonder why she had given her assistant a spare key in the first place. She wasn't excited about it at all. As she glanced at her assistant, who was still talking without pausing, she quietly muttered to herself, "I need a drink." "Is there anything you want to say, Miss Aria?" her assistant asked. With a forced smile, Aria replied, "No, not really. Is that everything?" "Not quite; I still need to go over your company's schedule," the assistant continued. Aria's smile grew even more strained. Before the assistant could continue, Aria cut her off. "Actually, let’s save this for another time. I'm feeling pretty tired, and I bet you are too, right?" "But..." "No buts—you’re dismissed." Without waiting for an answer, she stood up and headed to her room. Once inside, she turned on her phone and dialed Kae

Sophia stood in the lab, staring blankly ahead. She looked at the messy table and felt disheartened about what to do next. Eryn had been missing for two weeks since the incident; he left the hospital on his own, and no one had heard from him since. She wished she could have stopped his obsession with that book earlier. When a coworker walked in and saw her standing there, it made her feel sorry for Sophia. "Sophia, coming back here every single time won't bring him back," she said as she stood beside her and glanced at the messy lab, letting out a sigh. Sophia turned to her and replied, "So we aren’t going to do anything?" "The police are doing their best to find him. Just stay calm; they will locate him," her coworker encouraged. "And what if they don’t find him?" Sophia asked. "They will! Let’s be optimistic. Come on, let’s go grab something to eat," she said with a gentle smile. ------------------Eryn paced back and forth in his living room, whispering to himself, "What's hap

Lyrra stood in the busy crowd, deep in thought. Her cousin had shared how her life was in danger from her own fiancé, yet there was nothing she could do except watch her marry the same man. Lyrra closed her eyes and let out a sigh. "What am I going to do?" she murmured. She glanced around the reception hall filled with smiling faces, unaware of the true situation. Across from her stood the newlyweds, greeting their guests. Isabel wore a tight smile, as if she didn't want to be there at all. This made Lyrra feel even more heartbroken. She turned away from the couple and was about to find a seat when she heard someone call her name. "Lyrra!" She looked up to see the couple approaching her and forced a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. "Oh hey," she said, noticing one of them looked tense while the other beamed with joy. The sight of Richard's cheerful face made her smile vanish. "Richard, congratulations on your wedding! I hope you treat Isabel like the treasure she is," Lyrra s
