Chapter 8 JOB OFFER

"The business department? Are you sure that's where you want to go?" The butler asked him in confusion. 

Perhaps he thought Nicola would be choosing another big  department since there's a lot of big vacancies left in then. 

"I am sure that's where I want to go. I told you, I need to know more about business and there's no better place." Nicola answered, determined to go there. 

"There's no big space there though. You'll be at the bottom of the department." The butler warned him. 

He nodded, "That's the point exactly. That way, there will be no biases and I can learn everything I need to learn."

The butler had no choice but to accept. "I'll make a job offer for you to go there. Starting from the bottom is not a bad idea too." 

Nicola waited in the office as the butler called the assistant to make a job offer for him. He was more intrigued with the fact that he couldn't even get a decent job before. 

Now he gets to choose which job he wants? That's more than enough to make him happy. The assistant quickly made the job offer and brought it back to him. 

Nicola collected the job offer with a smile. He was about to leave when the butler stopped him. 

"Will you be fine going alone? You could take the assistant with you and..."

Nicola stopped him, seeing his concern. "I won't be able to learn if you do things like that. I think it's fine for me to go alone now."

Butler James nodded in agreement, "Fine. But you have to call me if you need anything. Don't hesitate to call if anyone bothers you."

Nicola chuckled, "You act like I am about to die. It's nothing to worry about. I'll learn sooner than you expected." 

Nicola patted the butler's shoulder and made his way out of the office. He knew what he was going to face now that he is going to the business department. 

The stupid fat man is probably going to make his stay at the department a living hell. As long as he doesn't bother the girl, he's willing to stay there. 

When he got to the office, he saw Liliana at her table. Liliana saw him and made a surprising smile. Nicola smiled at her too and wanted to say something. 

Before he could say something however, he got interrupted by the annoying supervisor of the business department. It was his new boss after all. 

The fat man got there, surprised to see the two people who kicked him out of the elevator earlier are now in his department as his underlings. 

"Well... what do we have here? If it isn't the two greatest people in the company. The ones daring enough to chase me out of an elevator." The supervisor laughed. 

He was happy to have them in the department. Now it's easy for him to have his revenge if he wants to. 

"What are you going to do now? Will you kick me out of my department too?" The supervisor mocked them. 

"You both have no idea what you got yourselves into with me." 

Nicola waited to say something, but Liliana stopped her. She shook her head, advising him against it. If he does anything rash again, it would mean more trouble fot them. 

"It's best not to provoke him if you want to last long here." She whispered to him. 

Nicola nodded, "I understand. I'll be more careful from now on." 

The supervisor saw Liliana's face and stared at her lustfully. He didn't realize she was such a beautiful girl until she came to the department. 

Liliana saw the way he was looking at her and felt disgusted. What does this stupid man want from her exactly? Nicola also noticed the way the supervisor was lusting at her. 

"Don't tell me you are going to harass her here again." Nicola said to the supervisor but he ignored. 

He walked to her, "I'll give you an exception if you cooperate with me." He tried to hold her hand but she quickly dodged it. 

"I decline sir." Liliana moved away from him. 

The supervisor's face changed. He was so embarrassed that he got rejected by Liliana right in front of everyone. He needed to do something to make her reject it. 

After thinking hard, he decided to make an announcement. 

"You both are going to be working together on a project with the Wightman's group." He announced with an evil grin. 

Before Liliana and Nicola could react, they could see everyone in the department already reacting for them. Liliana did not understand what the big deal was. 

The look in their faces tells a lot. They all had mixed expressions on their faces that were sympathy, relief, gloating and they were just murmuring about the whole thing. 

Nicola frowned on hearing the name. “The Wightman group? Isn't that the same name of that rude girl I met yesterday?” 

The was the same girl that had a marriage contract with him and wanted it to end. He hadn't thought much about her all day and now he is thinking about her again. 

Even so, what could be the big deal in doing this kind of project? Is there something else to it? Does the supervisor think he is doing something bad to them?

At this time, the supervisor went back to Liliana happily. 

He sneered, "If you don't reject me and accept my requirements any longer, I might change my mind and cut you some slack. What do you think?" 

"And what exactly do I gain from accepting you sir?" Liliana finally fired back at him to Nicola's surprise. 

He scoffed, "You don't know? I'll get someone else to handle this project and you won't have to worry about it. Choose wisely beauty." 

She sneered, "I don't think I'll ever accept you sir. Not even if I go crazy. It would never happen." 

Those words got the fat man more embarrassed as some people ended up laughing the moment she rejected him again. Nicola shook his head at the supervisor.
