"Is it just me? or is the car awfully quiet?" Jason forced out a chuckle.

Since the trio hit the road after making that stop at AW Pawn Shop, the ride had been heavily ladden with stifling silence. At first Jason didn't mind the silence as he busied himself with observing the azure colored card he was given after submitting the Ghost Ash of the Malevolent he had killed.

However after training his eyes on the card for a whole hour and counting, Jason's eyes were already starting to water and the immensity of boredom crashed heavily on him.

"I don't see how that's a problem.. we didn't speak much on the car ride earlier today" Aletta clicked her tongue..

This time it was Stephen behind the wheels while she scrolled through her phone in a relaxed manner. Jason snickered inwardly. How couldn't he tell the reason for the silence.

"Somehow I have a feeling that you both are not ready to acknowledge the fact that I can take care of myself. I mean, I killed a Malevolent. And according t

"What do you want to know?" half a minute into their flight, Alan broke the silence. "Three people important to me died.. how do I get their souls back from the Phantom Plane?" Alan paused for a bit before be replied. However this time, his voice sounded grim. "Give up on this pipe dream of yours if you know what's good for you. " "And what's that supposed to be?" "Take a look around you.. what do you see?" "Sand? a bunch load of it?" casting his eyes around as they cruised through the air, all Jason saw was a desert that seemed to stretch beyond the boundless horizon. "This is the Field of Northern Sand. Think of the entire Phantom Plane as a boundless void and the Field of Northern Sand as a small planet thriving within this boundless void.. just a single small unit within a sea of other planets. Except in this case, the concept of Space and time doesn't exist in the Phantom Plane. I don't know how long it's been since I died but during my time, I recalled that space is mer

"Rear Commander?" a sneer tugged across the corner of Alan's lips after hearing the statement of the Kincie below him. "You are barely a top figure amongst the Soul Reaper tier, don't you think your aspiration to be a Rear Commander is nothing but a pipe dream?" The level 3 Soul Reaper snorted. "My ambitions is something that you cannot comprehend. And even if you do, it won't make any difference since you won't be present to actually witness it.." finishing this sentence, the convergence of plasmic energy around the right palm of the Level 3 Soul Reaper finally stopped. — or to be precise, solidified into draconic elbow length gauntlet wrapped around his right arm. "Roger.. this is the name of my sjælehøster.." the Level 3 Soul Reaper clenched his right fist that was currently wrapped underneath the elbow length sleek black draconic gauntlet. "I never asked for its name.." with a single powerful flap of his wings, a powerful sonic boom erupted, propelling Alan further into the

  • Chapter 77 — Running Into A Kincie

Whirl! Whirl! Whirl! "This is supposed to be the Phantom Plane, a place beyond space and time so why do I feel like I've been plunged into the artic tundra?!" Jason complained while trudging across the arid terrain that seemed to stretch out towards the boundless horizon. Besides him was the level 10 Ghost Lord; Alan Jackson. However unlike Jason, Alan's movement were more fluid; obviously because he was already well accustomed with the Phantom Plane's terrain. "It is. However it is a lot more complicated than that.." Alan replied, taking a small pause before he continued. "Right now, we are located at the Fields of Northern Sand.. What you are trudging across isn't the normal sand that you encounter back at the Terra Plane. No, they are actually extremely condensed particles of pure plasmic energy. If it wasn't for your Kincie form, you wouldn't have lasted up to a split second before being submerged.." Jason's brows furrowed. "Let me guess, I don't want to know what happens af

—[Blessing Of Jericho Defense at 0%]—[Critical Hit!]—[Physique Defense at 30%]—[HP level at 50%] Watching the crimson colored serpentine creature slam it's gigantic forehead against his chest, Jason vomited a copious amount of the unknown metallic blue substance while also feeling like a truck just rammed against his body, breaking almost all his internal bones. Like a snowball, Jason crashed back in the ground only coming to a stop after roll-skidding a large ravine like crater that stretched out for about fifty meters. "Splurt!" Jason tried emerging from the ravine only to vomit another mouthful of blood. Although he could sense that his physical body wasn't present within the Penalty Zone, the collision made him feel like half of the bones in his body were shattered. This caused him to suck in a cold breath of relief. Even with the combination of [Overrun] and the boost from [Eternal+], he almost died from tanking that hit. What if he had been too arrogant or careless to s

  • Chapter 75 — Level Thirty

"L--Level thirty?!" Jason stared at the information on the system floating screen. Did the system experience a glitch or something?! "Heh. Brat, you seem like you've just seen a ghost.." the level 30 Malevolent squinted his eyes in a predatory manner as it snickered. "Eh?" however his expression suddenly went sullen upon noticing that it failed to elicit the reaction he was expecting "Didn't you just hear what I said? You look like you've just seen a ghost because I am actually a ghost.. hahahaha!!" "Seriously?" Jason's brows twitched as he watched the other party laughing at their own joke. He never knew that Malevolents had a sense of humor. Infact a majority of the Malevolents he's encountered so far were either stone cold silent or desired to consume him. This was the first Malevolent he's encountered that seemed eager to converse with him and even attempt to use pun jokes [Jason..] "What's it.." Jason could sense the panic in Sofia's voice. [You need to run.. right no

  • Chapter 74 — Penalty Zone

—[Host has been transported to the penalty Zone]—[Penalty Zone Duration: - - -] "Ugh.." snapping his eyes open, the first thing that Jason sensed was the blistering heat and hotness of direct sunlight blasting onto his face. Groaning with dissatisfaction, Jason blocked the sharp rays of sunlight with the back of his hand. Struggling back on his feet, he noticed he was no longer at the gymnasium of Peach Blossoms High. –Scratch that. It didn't look like he was in anywhere near Texas! Sand.. Hot sharp sand and a lot of them. This was the only thing that Jason could observe, stretching out for what seemed to be an endless expanse. "Did I get transported to Africa?" he wondered aloud. How else could he explain the scenic desert around him. [This.. This isn't some subsharan part of the African continent I'm afraid.. This isn't even part of the Terra Plane] "Not part of the Terra Plane? what do you mean?" Jason immediately had a bad feeling upon sensing the grimness in Sofia's t
