“What is going on here?” She asked, staring at Ethan with a serious face.

“Let him go.” She added, pointing at the detective who was trying to get away from Ethan.

“Why should I? He is trying to pin a crime on me.” Ethan retorted angrily.

“We will find out about that but you have to let him go, or else we will charge you for assaulting a police officer!” She declared firmly.

Ethan's eyes dimmed knowing she was right, even though he acted in self-defense toward Ray, it wasn't the same here with the detective. He let out a sigh and let go of the officer with the officer scrambling to stand behind the female officer.

“So what is it now? Are you letting me go?” Ethan asked and went back to sit on his chair while he folded his arms.

“I am Erin, the chief detective here and I will interrogate you from now on.” She replied while she looked around the office.

“Did he do this?” Erin asked the officer behind her, pointing at the broken table. The officer nodded, frantically and Erin raised her brows a bit impressed. She had also seen the footage from the hotel and she knew that they could only detain Ethan for a while.

“You know what?” She said to the officer while she stared at Ethan intently.

“I want everything you can get on him and also his relationship with Ray.” She instructed.

“Why? We can just detain him.” The officer replied, worried that she would go against Ray.

“Just do as I say, damn it!” She yelled back at him causing Ethan to raise a questionable brow at her. He didn’t know what they were saying and he tried to speak up however he stopped.

[Attention! Ethan Blackwood, a new mission has appeared!]

The system’s voice resonated in Ethan’s head and at the same time, Erin was trying to talk to him but he couldn't listen to her but the system.

[Flirt with the police officer in thirty minutes!]

That was Ethan’s mission and he frowned knowing it wouldn't be so easy. The female officer before him looked fierce and wasn't someone who could be dissuaded easily. But on second thought, he didn't mind if she would like him or not, all he just had to do was elicit a strong emotion in her toward him.

“Can’t you hear me? Are you fucking deaf?” The police officer kicked Ethan’s chair, trying to get his attention. This time, Ethan was back to his senses and Erin was looking at him angrily because he ignored her.

“No… I.. Am just blinded by your beauty.” Ethan replied as a sexy smirk bloomed on his face taking Erin aback. He got into character immediately to fulfill his mission.

“W…what are you saying? I'm trying to question you here. We are not talking about beauty!” Erin came back to her senses and spilled those words fiercely.

“Well, from now on, you can do whatever you want to me. I'm happy to die in your arms, Erin.” Ethan replied with a wink and Erin almost choked up. She put her hands on her waist, breathing heavily as she tried to steady herself.

“I'm going to ask you once again since you didn't hear me the last time.” She spoke up and Ethan nodded.

“What business do you have with Ray and how were you able to beat ten men? I watched the footage and I see you have a unique martial arts skill. It's rare for people to have that these days.” Erin asked thinking there was more to the eye than seen. If Ray wanted him locked up then there must be something else she wouldn't be able to lock him up because he was indeed defending himself.

“Well, you could say I beat up those men just to come to you. You are so beautiful and thanks to the heavens that brought me here. I think I have found my soulmate.” Ethan replied with a happy grin on his face.

This time, Erin’s face turned red due to anger and she was frustrated by Ethan’s answers. She was not in the mood for love.

“I am asking you Mr. Ethan Blackwood, who the fuck are you?” She asked while she clenched her arms wanting to slam something but Ethan had broken the only table they had.

“I am…” Ethan began to respond and Erin wanted to hear what he had to say desperately.

“…for you.” He continued, winking at her and the room went silent.

“What the fuck…” Erin was about to yell at him but the door opened and the officer from earlier walked in. He passed an iPad to Erin, with Ethan’s information on it.

Scrolling through the device, Erin saw that Ethan was just an ordinary person and a common worker. There was no record of him learning martial arts and also he had no prior contact with Ray.

“How could this be?” She whispered to herself in disbelief while she glanced at Ethan.

“Is something wrong, Erin? Tell me, I will do anything for you.” Ethan spoke up seeing the bewildered look on Erin’s face and he knew that she was confused about him. Even though his words were a bit cringe, they still made her look at him seriously now.

“Anything?” She asked and Ethan nodded with a sly smile on his face, seeing that his words were working on her.

At his words, Erin’s eyes dimmed seeing the way he was smiling so carefree. She was initially angry with him because he was trying to flirt with her but now that she looked at him, she realized he wasn't so bad. He was good-looking.

At the same time, a look at his records made her even more suspicious of who he was because an ordinary person wouldn't possess the skills he had. As far as she knew, he could be an underworld boss a low-key young master, or even a special forces soldier. Anyway, she knew she should use him to her advantage.

“I will let you out, Ethan.” She spoke up and Ethan looked at her seriously.

“Really? Then we can live our lives happily, together?” He asked.

“Of course not…” Erin replied with a smile creeping on her face but she tried to hide it.

“Then what?” Ethan asked.

“Let’s strike a deal!” She declared.

  • Taking Their Women

“There is no way you wouldn't want to marry me, Ethan!” Erin screamed, piercing through the silence in the car. Her face was twisted like a knot and he had never seen her so terrifying. “What do you mean? I never promised to do that!” He snapped at her. “I have never vowed my undying loyalty to you, why should I do that now?”“Because I have sacrificed so much to be by your side. I neglected my family, neglected my job just to live as your woman and yet, you still don't see that as anything.” She continued to scream with tears streaming down her eyes. Ethan could only purse his lips, knowing a large part of her words were true. Her job complications arose just from her clashing with the higher powers that tried to bring her down and he was also entangled with it. However, he never told her to stay away from her family. In fact, he never even spoke about her family with her. Neglecting her family was everything she did on her own but Ethan wasn't going to say that out loud because s

  • Let’s Get Married

Seeing Baron’s surrender, Ethan’s eyes dimmed in suspicion as he couldn't readily believe that this minister would easily relent. After all, he was proud and cocky. “Alright, start speaking.” He urged but before Baron could start, he spoke up again, “And if you dare lie to me, you are dead.”Baron frantically nodded, his eyes filled with too much fear to even lie and his first sentence shocked Ethan so well. “I wasn't the one who helped Genie out of prison.” Minister Baron began and Ethan quickly sat up in his seat, realizing it was about to get serious. “I only served as a connection between her and the other person. My only benefit was to come out of prison and become a minister again as a placeholder. This position isn't controlled by me, it’s for the benefit of that person.”Ethan was surprised at the outcome of things. No wonder Baron was a show-off. Empty people tend to make the loudest noise. “Who is this other person you are in contact with, huh? And what did Genie offer t

  • Dead Eyes

Even though Erin was visibly raging, Ethan sat down coolly staring at her with a blank gaze. He recalled how she had begged to be involved in the case, and yet, she let her emotions lead her. “You have ten seconds to leave, Erin. You are no longer involved in this.” He warned her. “Why?” She snapped, “First, you deceived me into thinking you wouldn't be coming and here you are. I brought you both here! If anyone should be taken out of this, it’s Mason, who stood up to leave abruptly. He ruined the whole thing before my family—”“I ordered him to do so…”“What?” She gasped. “You let your emotions rule over you, Erin. You are not fit for this.” Ethan waved his hand. “Leave before it’s too late.”However, it was obvious she wasn't ready to leave at all. Quickly, Ethan signaled Mason to get her out.“What will you do…hmmm…” Mason quickly covered her mouth, muffling her words. At the same time, he held her body together making her thrash, trying to get away from his grip but then, he wa

  • A Simple Note

One day later…Mason held Erin by the arm, walking her into the grand venue to greet her family for the night. He had a gift box in hand, looking very charming but then he had his eyes scanning the room. His glasses, which complemented his black tailored suit had tiny cameras on them, sending live feed of the event to Ethan. Mason gently scanned the hall but Minister Baron was nowhere to be seen. Though there were other government officials of his caliber in the event, no one seemed to be concerned about his absence. “Are you sure Baron is going to be here?” He asked Erin who clutched his hand rigidly. “Well, I don’t know.” She hissed. “We will have to find out.”Ever since Ethan switched up on her last minute, she had been gloomy. She thought she was going to show him off for once before the high society and her family but he was a step before her. Deep in her mind, she hoped Baron wouldn't even appear! Her grievance overshadowed her reasoning, her emotions rising to an all-time

Driving into his mansion, Ethan had his fingers on his chin, deep in thoughts. Getting to minister Baron would be a long walk especially when trying to get him involved in the scam case. Minister Baron had a lot of power on his side, one that definitely aided him in getting Genie out of prison. Fighting against such a man might be a lot of toll. Ethan had to strategize the perfect plan and not just go in rashly. But then he knew the minister would get news about Genie’s disappearance. Would it be soon and would he be able to trace it back to Ethan? As he got out of the car, he realized there was no way it could be traced back to him. After all, his men had done a clean job. He spotted Erin right outside the building looking very worried and he wanted to ignore her completely but then, as she quickly approached the car, he became concerned. “Ethan, Eva is not in the house.” She said, shocking him. “And why would you care?” He raised a brow, suspicion stirring in his mind. “Uhmmm…”

  • The Raging Old Man

Genie was immensely surprised that Ethan knew about Elvis Chris and the Minister. She had truly underestimated her biggest opponent. It was easy to conquer her husband but Ethan, it didn't seem so. But at the same time, she wondered how he got to know. Everything she did was securely under wraps and only a few people knew she was out of prison. “You want to know how I got out of prison, right?” She tilted her head to the side, her gaze scanning. Ethan pursed his lips, seeing the way she stared at him like a specimen under scrutiny. “You amaze me, Ethan.” She chuckled. “You were able to find out about the minister and Elvis, yet you couldn't find out about such a simple thing. Are your resources limited?” Ethan didn't react to her provocative words just like she wanted, instead, his smile was cool, one that made her swallow. “You know what?” He grinned, his eyes darkening sending warning bells in her head. “I don't need to know how you got out.” He slowly stood up to his feet, a
