All eyes turned on Lucas’ car and instantly, Chloe turned tense and Erin frowned, wondering what was going on. Chloe never expected that Lucas would arrive so fast.

They called him to meet up with them at the mansion and his worry that his plans wouldn't go well pushed him to be there in time. On the other hand, Erin saw that Lucas was rushing toward them angrily and she knew that something was wrong. She was quite aware that Lucas worked with Ethan but she didn't know the ropes of it.

“You bastard!” Lucas came rushing at Ethan, his hand fisted, and was ready to throw his punch but Mason stepped in immediately, throwing him off with full force.

Lucas staggered, his burly body no match for Mason’s force and he knew not to go in for another attack, so he yelled instead.

“Where did you take her?” He yelled at Ethan and in the next second, he went ahead to grab Chloe and nobody stopped him.

“You bitch! What were you trying to prove? You want to run away from me?” He glared at her, hi

  • Temporary Disability

Eva wrote about how much she yearned for Ethan. How much she so desperately wanted to remember and get her brain in order. She spoke about how much she wanted Ethan to be by her side as he was the only one who understood her. However, her father deterred her and called her stupid for not getting her life together. She had no other choice, the weight of living life without what she needed quickly settled in and it was too much to bear for her. So, she did the only thing that would give her relief. While Ethan continued to clutch the suicide note, he heard beeping sounds from the ward and Aria quickly rushed back in to see her father panicking around Eva. Ethan stood at the door, watching the heart rate monitor that was quickly turning erratic and then into a thin line. Almost no sign of life or breath. The doctors rushed in, quickly trying to do all they could to save her. “She went into cardiac arrest.” They said. “Was there any commotion in the room just now?”“No…” Chairman Da

  • Guilt

Ethan’s heart sank to the deepest chasm. The System had said the Blood Healing Technique could only sustain her for three hours, and just now, the doctors would declare her brain dead in two hours if there was no miracle. “Can I see her?” He asked. “Of course…”He was led into her ward room where she was hooked to a number of machines. Eva now looked paler and much more fragile. As he sat by her bedside, he wondered if he was to blame for her condition. If only he had not used the Woman Compelling Power on her, then she wouldn't have lost her mind and retreated several times. She wouldn't have been labeled as sick by her family while only he knew the cause of her ailment. If only he had not let Chairman Davins take her away. All along, he thought she would be in safe hands with her father until the moment he dealt with the crisis he had at hand. “I am sorry.” He whispered, with a heavy heart. No matter how much he had to go through grief, he just couldn't get over it. Not with Ra

“Aria, can you step aside? I need to attend to Eva, right now. We can deal with other things later.” Ethan said sternly while reaching for Eva again. But this time, Eva pulled back. “It’s too late, Ethan…” She whispered..“What do you mean?” He finally got to her and as he wrapped his hand around her arm, he frowned, his heart plummeting. “What did you do, Eva? What’s happening!” He asked, as his forehead was lined with worry. “I…” She stuttered, before holding onto her chest, a burning pain arising. Aria stared in shock at her half-sister, finally realizing something was wrong with Eva. She had also noticed the cold feel of het body. “What happened to her?” Ethan barked at Aria. “I…i…don’t know.” Aria shook. “I was in my room all day. I couldn't even go to her room because the guards kept us apart!”“I was only able to leave because they all came out to stop you!”“Shit!” Ethan dragged Eva into his arms as he saw the way she gagged and gasped for breath. But as soon as she was

An hour later, Ethan drove into the Davins’ mansion, however, a few guards suddenly filed out of the house, blocking his car. “I see…” He muttered. “The chairman was prepared already.” “Should we take them down?” Mason asked. “It will only take a few minutes.”“Nah…it’s nothing.” He waved his hands nonchalantly. He would rather preserve Mason’s energy for very important things. But he had one trick up his sleeve. He took up his phone and dialed Aria’s phone number. No matter what, he knew she would come to him anyway. And just as he predicted, in two rings, the call was connected.“Ethan!” She squealed, her excitement evident in the way she breathed heavily. “I have been trying to call you but I couldn't.”“Yeah, I was a little busy.” He replied, knowing fully well he had barred her calls. But he didn't need to tell her that, “I am at your residence, I would love to see you and Eva.”“You are here?” She gasped and he could hear her running. He looked up at the mansion to see her d

The air went still for a moment but in the blink of an eye, the reporters went frenzy! Their cameras flashed rapidly while some hurriedly took records of the conversations. “What did you say?” Chairman Davins’ eyes dimmed slightly. “Are you trying to insult me here, Ethan?”“You must be out of your mind!” He breathed heavily, his chest heaving. “Careful, old man,” Ethan said calmly. “You might tarnish your reputation if you keep speaking that way. After all, you are the one in the wrong here.”“No, you are!” the old man fired back. “How dare you stand there and claim this land is yours? Weren't you at the auction and even watch me bid for it?”“And didn't I warn you against purchasing the West Valley Land? But you told me off, and your assistants edged you on.” Ethan sneered. “I tried, you see…” He shrugged his shoulders with a pitiful expression on his face. “I waited for you to see the truth. For you to at least investigate deeply into what you are purchasing but you didn't.”“So

  • I Own It

Ethan and Mason were on their way to the West Valley land, however, his phone wouldn't stop ringing nonstop. Erin was on the phone, trying to get to him but in his mind, he had totally forgotten her existence. Mason wasn’t left out either. His phone kept blowing hot and eventually he had to connect the call, even though he had gotten a vague report on what happened with Erin last night. “Hello—”“End that call!” Ethan cut him off, his voice stern.“But, it’s Erin—”“I know.” He stared at Mason with a deadpan expression. “From now on, you are not allowed to contact her during work hours. You can have a personal relationship with her, but not around me.”Mason pursed his lips, and quickly ended the call. However, he was concerned about this situation. “But you know Erin is pregnant—”“She is not. You don't need to worry. I confirmed that myself.” Ethan waved his hands. “I don’t want her anywhere near the mansion or a 10-meter radius around me. Take note.” He was indirectly warning Ma
