The manager’s office was quiet. A man in his fifties sat behind a wide desk. He had gray hair, sharp eyes, and a stern face.

His name plate read “Mr. Garrison, Regional Manager.”

Garrison looked up from his laptop, annoyed. “Who are you? And who let you in?”

Before John could answer, Gaius rushed in behind him, breathing hard.

“Mr. Garrison, I’m so sorry for the disturbance. This young man walked in and demanded to buy a property. We tried to explain…”

John cut him off. “They didn’t pay attention to me. Is this how the sales team at Emerald Enterprise operates? By judging clients before listening?”

Garrison held up a hand. He studied John for a long moment. Then he took a deep breath and set his pen down.

“Alright,” he said. “You have my attention, young man.”

He folded his hands on the desk. “Which property do you wish to acquire? We have the twenty-five million dollar mansions, the fifty million…”

“Don’t bother,” John said. “I’ll take the most expensive mansion this enterprise can offer.”

Garrison paused. His eyes widened just a fraction.

“Are you sure about what you’re saying?”

John reached into his pocket and took out his black card. He placed it on the desk.

“I’m more than sure.”

Gaius, still standing in the doorway, chuckled nervously. “Do you even know how much an Emperor Tier Estate costs? That’s not something you just…”

John raised his brows and spoke casually. “I don’t care. Swipe the card. I want to purchase one now.”

Garrison looked at the card, then at John. Slowly, he nodded. “Very well.”

He picked it and slid into the payment machine.

The room was so quiet that everyone could hear their breaths.

A few seconds passed, then the machine beeped loudly. “Transaction successful. Ten billion dollars received.”The screen flashed green.

Gaius gasped. His face went pale as he slowly walked forward. “Sir… did it… did it really go through?” He tried to lean over to see the screen.

Smack!

Garrison’s palm connected with Gaius’s cheek. The sound echoed in the office. Gaius stumbled back, holding his face in shock.

“You should be on your knees apologizing,” Garrison snapped, “instead of asking foolish questions.”

Gaius quickly turned to John and bowed low. “I’m sorry, Sir! Please forgive me. I was wrong to judge you.”

Garrison stood up and smoothed his suit. He looked at John with new respect. “May I have your name, Sir?”

“John Valerio,” John said.

Garrison nodded slowly. “Mr. Valerio. That’s quite a unique name.” He turned to Gaius. “You will apologize. Properly. And not just you.”

He walked out of the office with John beside him. Garrison clapped his hands once, and the entire sales floor went quiet.

“Everyone, gather in the reception hall. Now.”

The employees hurried over, confused and nervous. They formed a line.

Garrison gestured to John. “This is Mr. John Valerio. He is now the owner of our Emperor Tier Estate. He is a valued client of Emerald Estates International.”

He turned to the staff. “And you all failed him. You judged him. You laughed at him. You refused to serve him. That is not how we do business. Now you all must apologize individually."

One by one, Garrison made them step forward.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Valerio,” the woman in the blue blazer said, her voice shaking.

“Please forgive us, Sir,” another man said, bowing his head.

Gaius stepped forward last. His cheek was still red. “Mr. Valerio, I was disrespectful. I let my assumptions control me. I apologize from the bottom of my heart. It won’t happen again.”

John looked at all of them. He didn’t smile. He didn’t frown. He just nodded once. “Good. Make sure it doesn’t.”

Garrison turned to John. “Mr. Valerio, please accept my deepest apologies on behalf of my staff. Your estate will be prepared immediately. We will handle all the paperwork today. The legal team will be at your service within the hour.”

John slipped his hands into his pockets. “Please make it fast. I don’t like to wait.”

“Of course, Sir,” Garrison said quickly. “Right this way to the VIP lounge. We’ll make sure everything is perfect.”

John paused. “Please wait. I have a request.”

“Anything for you, Sir.” Mr Garrison replied.

“Give me the address of the estate. I'd like to go check it out myself, while you prepare the paperwork. I prefer that to waiting here.”

Mr Garrison nodded. “ Sure, Mr Valerio.” He took out a card and handed it to John. “The address is written on this card. You go ahead, and I'll meet you shortly.”

Not long after, John stepped through the giant front doors of the Emperor Tier Estate.

He stopped and looked around. The ceiling was high, with a big glass chandelier hanging down.

Paintings hung on the walls. A long staircase curved up to the second floor.

“Wow,” John said softly. “This place is even better than the model.” He walked further in slowly, taking it all in. “I could get used to this.”

Suddenly, a woman in a tight black uniform saw him. Her name tag said “Anna, Senior Caretaker.”  She frowned and walked up to John fast.

“Hey! You!” Anna said loudly. “Who let you in here? This is private property. You can’t just walk in like you own the place.” She looked him up and down.

“You look like you slept on the street. Are you here to steal something?”

John turned to her, calm. “I’m not here to steal. I’m just looking around.”

Anna crossed her arms. “Looking around? At what? The silver? Art? Security! We have a thief in the main hall!”

Another young woman in a simple caretaker uniform overheard the conversation. She ran over from the other side of the room.

Her name tag said “Joan, Junior Caretaker.”

“Anna, stop!” Joan said. She stepped between Anna and John. “You don’t know who he is. You can’t talk to people like that.”

Anna rolled her eyes. “Oh, look who it is. Little Miss Perfect. Joan, you’ve only been here a week. Stay out of this. This guy is clearly, trouble.”

“I’m not staying out of it,” Joan said. Her voice was steady. “Everyone should be treated with respect, no matter how they look. My mom taught me that.”

She turned to John and gave a small smile. “I’m sorry about her, Sir. Welcome. Can I show you around?”

John looked at Joan. Then he nodded. “Sure. Lead the way.”

Joan started walking. “This is the main hall. The floor is Italian marble. And that painting on the wall is from France. It’s over two hundred years old.”

John listened and nodded. “Nice. I like it.”

A few minutes later, Anna came back. This time she was not alone.

A tall man with a thick mustache walked beside her. His name tag said “Vincent, Head of Caretakers.”

Italian crab, Egyptian freshly baked honey bread. All your favorites. Please, come in.”John shook his head. “No, don’t worry about that.”Martha looked surprised. “Mr. John? I want to do something else today, and I need your help.”Martha blinked. “And what can I assist you with, Mr. John?” John looked at her. “I need a car of top quality.
