Chapter 9: October 1st Estate

Chapter 9

 

Paige Bellingham was overjoyed. Killian had just accepted her invite, and it's something to be happy about. 

 

She muttered excitedly, “Thank you Mr Holland for accepting my invite. You don't know what this means to me.” 

 

Quickly, she brought out his phone and put a call to her assistant about convening a press conference. 

 

It hadn't rang twice when the assistant's voice was heard. "Good day, Miss Bellingham! I saw your call.”

 

“Yess! Lord of Gallagher had been cured. I decided to convene a press conference, and a business party afterwards. Can you do that?” Paige Bellingham muttered. 

 

The assistant's voice hinted with surprise, “Really ma'am! Wow, I'm so happy right now! When will the press conference come up?”

 

" Tomorrow will be fine! Yeah, we should do it tomorrow!” Paige replied while nudging at Killian for his response. Killian also nodded his head in response. 

 

After some minutes of discussing about the conference, Paige ended the call, and turned to Killian with a broad smile on her face. 

 

Paige offered, “Mr. Holland, where are you going to? I'm willing to be your driver for today! Please, do tell me where you are going!" She waited patiently for his response as she was hoping for him to agree. 

 

Seeing her demeanor, Killian couldn't help but accept her kind offer. He nodded his head in response, “Sure! I had boarded a taxi to the destination but I was stopped by Kendrick and his underlings. 

 

October 1st Estate!" He called out his destination, while Paige gasped as she heard the address. 

 

She was totally surprised. She never expected Killian to be among those that lived in that area. 

 

The October 1st Estate isn't for the poor, the wealthiest families in the country are the only ones that could afford and reside in that Estate. 

 

A house in the October 1st Estate worths over tens of millions, and even the middle-class family are finding it hard to purchase a land. 

 

She definitely thought Killian was only good at medicine, unknowingly to her, he was also wealthy and acquired a house at the October 1st Estate. 

 

“Okay then, Mr Holland. Here you are." She opened the door for Killian, and he got into it without failing to appreciate her kind gesture. 

 

Paige nodded her head with smiles plastered all over face, and quickly, she dashed into the driver's seat, and ignited the car to Killian 's destination; October 1st Estate. 

 

Along the drive, everywhere was silent, as they didn't bother to talk to each other while Killian was deeply lost in his thoughts. 

 

He was thinking about the Pratt Family, how they had maltreated over the years being with them. He gritted his teeth inwardly as he recalled Cecilia bringing in her new fiancee when they weren't divorced. 

 

Total disrespect for him. Even though he was seen as a poor man, at least she should show him a little respect. 

 

Surely, he was going to make them pay for what they've made him pass through. They are going to regret it very soon. 

 

The blaring sound coming out from Paige's phone brought him out of his reverie. Paige, on the other hand, stopped the car for a moment, and swiftly raised her hand to the phone. 

 

Checking the caller, she swiped the green button on the screen while placing the phone on her right ear. 

 

“Hello! What's happening?" She muttered to the phone. 

 

“REALLY! NOW! Alright, I will be right there within a few minutes!" With that, she hung the phone call then towards Killian with a pleading look. 

 

"I'm sorry Mr Holland, I won't be able to take you to your destination. My attention is needed at the company.” She muttered. 

 

Killian nodded his head, "You don't have to worry about anything. I heard your conversation, and it won't be right if I stop you from going! 

 

Besides, my house isn't far from here. It's something I could trek and that might serve as an exercise for me.” He said with an assuring smile. 

 

Paige was surprised by how mature and understanding a person he was! He was not annoyed at all. 

 

“I'm really sorry about this, Mr Holland! My attention is just badly needed, and I need to be there!" Paige apologized. 

 

“What? You don't have to apologize. I understand you've an important meeting and I won't like to stop you! You've tried enough for today!" He claimed. 

 

"Thank you for understanding, Killian! I promise I own you big time!” She muttered while Killian smiled sheepishly, and got down from the car. 

 

He waited patiently for Paige to drive and when her car was out of sight, Killian gave out a sigh, and began to trek his way to the estate. 

 

Within a few minutes, he reached the Estate's gate. There were no security guards at the gate, nevertheless, the security was tight. 

 

To gain access into the Estate, he walked up to the scanner and scanned his face. It was marked green, and the gate granted him access. 

 

He crossed over to the sidewalk, and proceeded his journey to his mansion. Due to how shabby and dirty his clothes were, the bystanders' eyes were on him but he was not bothered and ignored it totally. 

 

It wasn't his first time encountering this type of situation and how to deal with the stares isn't nothing more than to ignore them. 

 

Amidst his walks, a car suddenly stopped  in front of him. Killian frowned deeply but before he could say anything, the tinted glass rolled down. 

 

Killian's sight suddenly caught up with the two men in black suits, and a woman in a yellow strapless gown. 

 

He was familiar with the woman as she was Cecilia’s best friend. 

 

He smirked rudely, and tried to walk away from there before Cecilia's friend spoke up in an angrily manner. 

 

“Stop there, Killian! Where do you think you are going?" She looked enraged, and turned towards the men in the car, “I thought the security of the Estate is tight and an ordinary person can't enter into the estate without being verified." She asked in a hurry. 

 

The men nodded their heads simultaneously, and responded, "Sure! That's right, I wonder how he entered the estate. He looked poor!” One of the men muttered and an angry expression bestowed on her face. 

 

Quickly, she dropped down from the car, and walked towards Killian, while glaring at him in a cold manner. 

 

With an ironic voice, she demanded. “What are you doing here, Killian? Are you here to beg for money or what? You aren't eligible to be in this estate. 

 

You should walk out of here right now.” Casting down at him in disgust, Cecilia's friend smirked rudely.
