11. SYSTEM

Benjamin head felt like exploding while the pain surged through his body. At first it was just his head then it accelerated twice causing his whole body to throb.

Then Silence , Blackness, nothingness!

He felt his body moving then a sudden sensation went through his body until he was able to open his eyes again.

The sight of a neverending blackness caused him to scream out but his voice just echoed back to him.

This time there were no *blinding lights* it was just him floating in the neverending darkness. Then instantly A noise sounded.

[HELLO THERE ] The voice sounded inhuman .

"Hello" Benjamin tried to speak but he had no lips. He touched his face but he realized that he didn't have a nose or lips. Afraid, he screamed inside his mind.

*Ahhhhhhhhhh* Meticulously his own screaming echoed from far away until he heard it again coming from the background.

[You can't speak here. Use your inner voice if you want to suggest something.]

'Where the heck is this place!' He swore. 'I don't even have a mouth'

[Silence]

*Why am I here? Am I dead?*

[No. You are in coma] The voice sounded again as if the owner of the voice was invisible.

*Why can't I see you? Show your yourself* He yelled again.

[Negative. I can't show you my true form for now. You will freak out. But you can think about anyone you want and I appear like him.]

Benjamin tried to recall the people he knew. Vanessa would have been perfect but he just didn't know what she looked like. Clara maybe? But just seeing her in his mind every night would make him think about stuff he didn't want to think about, so he just settled on the kid.

Suddenly out of nowhere an illumination appeared in the dark. Then Ricky materialized out of the illumination .

*So there were lights after all*

[You can talk to me in this form.] He said but the voice was still inhuman just like before.

*Why am I here?*

*But I don't want to be. What will I gain in return?* Benjamin asked.

*Okay* His questions wasn't answered but he had to listen to what he might tell him.

*So you know who I am. Does it mean you can explain why I keep on forgetting?*

Benjamin Reeds wanted to ask him but he didn't. He just needed to know what he was dealing with so instead he questioned.
