The black luxury limousine glided to a smooth halt directly in front of the grand entrance of the city’s most prestigious auction house.

Flashbulbs from dozens of reporters went off, illuminating the red carpet in anticipation of the newcomer.

The car door opened, and Harry stepped out in a simple, charcoal gray designer suit. The clothes were not too flashy, but his aura was elegant and powerful like a Prince, born and bred in wealth.

Standing just a few feet away, near the velvet ropes were his wife, Julia, and Derek.

They had just arrived and were getting their pictures clicked, when Julia spotted a familiar face in between the camera flashes.

Her jaw hit the floor.

‘What the hell is this beggar doing here? Did I make a mistake by telling him about the auction…?’

But the next moment, she shed her guilt. Even if he got to know about the event from her mouth, how could she know that he'd have the audacity to show up to an invites-only event?

As she noticed him handing an envelope to the security guards, her face twisted into a sour expression of jealousy.

In fact, if one looked closely at Julia’s hand, she was proudly sporting a brand-new shiny diamond ring on her finger.

It was a symbol of her secret engagement to Derek, despite the fact that she and Harry had not even filed for a formal legal divorce yet! She foolishly believed that having the high-society status of being engaged to a wealthy, European-educated heir would earn her much more approval, status, and respect at tonight’s gala.

But Harry didn't even cast a single glance in their direction. He walked forward, completely ignoring their existence until Julia and Derek stepped directly in his way, blocking the red carpet with smug expressions on their faces.

Julia crossed her arms, speaking loudly for the nearby guests to hear,

“Well, well, look at you, Harry! Did you manage to find yourself a sugar mommy in less than 24 hours? Is that how a penniless delivery boy gets a suit like that?"

Harry’s expression instantly turned cold.

"I am here for the grand auction. What business is it of yours what I do?”

He also raised his volume slightly, speaking clearly.

“Ever since I arrived at this venue, I’ve been hearing nothing but annoying flies buzzing around my ears. The security guards at this high-end establishment really should do a much better job, they shouldn't just let just anyone crawl inside from the street."

A soft, elegant chuckle echoed in the silence as Nancy Holloway stepped forward, putting her arm through Harry's elbow like they were quite familiar with each other.

Derek spun around, his eyes locking onto Nancy. He froze completely, staring at her with awe. This girl, dressed in a pasted pink gathered dress, was looking like an angel from heaven.

Not only was she strikingly beautiful, but her elegance, her perfect figure, and her innocent, youthful features made her look ten times more attractive and stunning than Julia could ever dream of being. His mouth almost fell open in surprise: where on earth did this joker manage to get a girl like that on her arm?!

Julia noticed Derek’s staring eyes and felt a stroke of jealousy burning in her chest. She shouted, pointing at Nancy.

"You! Better be careful with this loser! Don't let his fake looks and borrowed clothes fool you. He'll scam you out of your hard-earned money and your body, and by the time you finally realize he’s a penniless fraud, it'll be far too late!"

Derek quickly snapped out of his daze, wanting to impress Julia and cover up for getting distracted by this heavenly beauty.

"That's right, beautiful! You are young and naive, don't let this clown trick you. He still owes the city hospital over a million dollars in advanced surgical fees for his dying mother. His only real specialty in life is being a lazy, live-in son-in-law who begs women for grocery money!"

She cleared her throat quickly, her hand shaking as she raised her microphone. "Ladies and gentlemen... after a detailed digital inspection through our main terminal, I hereby officially announce that this gentleman's assets have successfully passed our verification process with flying colors! His capital is completely valid!"Julia felt like someone had just poured a bucket of water directly over her head. Her mind reeled. She absolutely did not believe it! Julia was completely overtaken by jealousy while she looked at Nancy’s stunning beauty, while also being confused why she was vouching for a loser like Harry. She let out a loud, mocking sneer that echoed through the front rows. “Don't think you're all that just because you showed up in a fancy, expensive car! Do you even have a clue how much this idiot just bid? Thirty million dollars! That’s more money than a successful company makes in a whole fiscal year. What on earth makes you think you have the right to vouch for a street rat?"Derek joined in, stepping forward to question Nancy with a smirk. "Exactly. Who do you think you are, his new mommy? You're going to bankrupt yourself trying to protect a fraudster."The crowd began to whisper uncomfortably, wondering who this mysterious woman was. But before the murmurs could spread, Kirk Beckham stood up from the front-row VIP section. He was a well-known billionaire from a major tech conglomerate. He looked at Julia and Derek w

Harry let out a soft chuckle from the front row, shaking his head, which made Derek’s blood boil even hotter. Three million going once..."An absolute silence fell over the grand room.Derek smirked, shouting out proudly, "Just call it, host! No one else here has the guts or the money!"Julia turned around, confident that the ring was already going to be theirs now. After all, her loser husband turned out to be exactly that– a sore loser. "You came all the way to a luxury auction, and haven't bid a single cent on a single thing all night! And you still try to claim you're not here looking for a minor job to fill your stomach? What a joke!"Harry shot a cold glance back at her. Then, his eyes focused on the antique ring sitting inside the glass case. He glared at Harry, letting out a loud sneer. "Look at the pathetic scum! He can't even afford his own mother's emergency surgery fees, yet actually shows up to a high-class auction just to window-shop and pretend he belongs here!"Harry raised an eyebrow, completely unbothered. Julia and Derek burst into a mocking laughter, enjoying Harry's humiliation while expecting Nancy to thank them and run away. After all, they were doing this naive girl a huge favour. But on the contrary, her face turned serious. She stepped in front of Harry, “I trust Mr. Kipling completely.” Nancy was going to say more, Harry didn't want to waste another second on them. He gave her a nod, and they walked right past the stunned couple, entering the grand venue. The auction hall was filled with hundreds of velvet seats. Harry and Nancy took their seats in the front-row central VIP area, a section reserved exclusively for the most powerful titans of the nation. “Boss, the event is about to begin. I need to go backstage right now to coordinate with the grand organizers regarding your upcoming keynote speech. Please excuse me for a moment." Harry nodded calmly. "Go ahead." Meanwhile, Julia and Derek had been guided by the ushers to the cheap, lower-tier left rear section of the
