“Grandfather, did you adopt him?

Have we not been taking good care of you” Mrs. Darius asked as adoption was the only way for Mr. Xavier to suddenly have a grandchild that they weren't aware of until he grew this big.

“And from what Abigail and James have been saying, this young man just graduated from college. If this young man is actually his grandson without adoption, then it only means one thing-peter Xavier had a son before leaving. Then Mr. Xavier had been keeping her and her family in the dark all these years” Mrs. Darius boiled in anger in her heart.

Mr. Xavier Smiled as though he had trained himself to answer this particular question “if I adopted him, he wouldn't have been my grandson Rose. Alex is Peter’s son and the only heir of Xavier’s wealth “

Abigail felt her heart beat at a quick pace.

This wasn’t happening.

Grandpa can't be serious! Of course, he is joking. Alex, the poorest student in school, can’t suddenly become Xavier’s heir! No.

“Grandpa Alex is a nobody. A common sweep and the poorest student in Rift Valley, so this can’t be true” James said.

He was going to make Mr. Xavier believe him and chase the filthy thing out of the mansion.

“Grandfather, how possible is this “ Mrs. Darius asked calmly

“If I am going to get to the root of how he suddenly got a grandson, I need to appear calm,” she said in her heart.

“He is Peter's son, my Peter Xavier, “ Mr. Xavier responded, taking a deep breath.

Abigail boils in anger.

“Grandfather, are you joking? Alex, here is a sweeper, so how can he suddenly become your grandson?” she flares up.

“Rose, keep your daughter calm!” Mr. Xavier barked.

“My princess, please sit down.

Grandpa will explain everything to us, so calm down” Mr. Darius said and Abigail sat down grumbling.

Even though he had millions of unanswered questions he wanted the old man to answer, he just decided to keep quiet for two reasons.

Firstly, he wasn't the one related to Him, It was his wife Rose that was related to Mr. Xavier.

Secondly, Mr. Xavier is a strict and no-nonsense man.

“Mother who is Peter” James stared at his mother.

James had always known Mr. Xavier was without a child, and he had even made Mr. Xavier love him so much that he was very sure he will be the next heir to the Xavier’s wealth. But if Alex suddenly becomes his grandson then all the wealth will be automatically his, and he wasn’t going to allow that!

Alex is a poor and filthy thing and cannot be the Xavier heir!

“He is grandpa’s only son” Mrs. Darius answered, “ but he left so many years ago and hasn’t shown up because he didn’t want to have anything to do with grandpa and the Xavier’s wealth

“Then if he didn’t want to have anything to do with grandpa’s wealth, then none of his offspring should be given a dime from the Xavier’s wealth,” Abigail said.

“Get up and get out of this house because you are poor and poor you shall remain” James yells, standing to his feet.

He needed to do something.

He can’t just watch someone he has bullied to suddenly be an heir to such wealth. That would be a mud rub on his face.

Mark and Andrea will mock him,

everyone who has seen him bully Alex will mock him.

Yes, his father was Darius, but without the Xavier’s money and connection, the Darius

is nothing! so, he wasn’t going to allow Alex to make a mockery of his family.

“James and Abigail, you both are heartless and mannerless! How dare you speak to Alex that way” Mr. Xavier scolded in anger.

“Abigail, James” Mr. Xavier called after taking a deep breath. James, Abigail, Rose, and Darius had been there for him all those years Peter left, so he wasn’t going to make them think he was ungrateful.

“Alex here is the only son of Peter Xavier and peter Xavier is my only son, which made Alex to automatically be the only heir to all Xavier's wealth.

including landed properties and including this house you are in right now,” he explained calmly.

He pauses to look at everyone in the room before continuing, “so all the respect you give to me, you should also give to him is that understood.”

Abigail stared at her parents and James expecting them to at least say something, but they kept quiet and that infuriated her so much.

“I am going to make grandpa see that Alex is a liar. Not just a liar, but a manipulator!

Because I'm very sure he manipulated grandpa to think he was his grandson.” She stomped her feet on the floor in annoyance then nodded her head “ that is exactly what I will do” standing to her feet, she paces around.

After some time, rush towards Alex in anger.

Before Alex saw it coming, Abigail pulled him from the couch, pushing him to the ground.

“You are not just a poor sweeper, but you are also a liar!” Abigail gave Alex a reverberating smack on his cheek.

“Alex has lied to grandpa, and he seems to believe him”

Mr. Kim watched as Abigail tried to make grandpa see that Alex was lying and that annoyed him. He tried to keep calm, but when Abigail rushed towards Alex to hit him again, he lost control. “Stop it, Abigail.

what is wrong with you?” he yelled, standing to his feet

“you think because you are privileged to come from a rich home you can treat a human like you as trash?

for your information, Alex here is Xavier’s grandson and his name is Alexander Xavier you can go run a D.N.A if you have doubts”

Mr. Kim has been working for Mr. Xavier even before Rose delivered of her twins -Abigail and James.

Peter Xavier was still in high school when he was employed as his personal bodyguard, and he never for once, treated him like a common guard. People who weren’t members of the family took them as best friends, just as Alex has thought.

If only he didn’t command him to stop coming around when his wife died, just if only maybe he wouldn’t have died.

As he had been with the family for years, he knew the family more than anyone, and he could swear with his life that Rose, Darius, James, and Abigail were all behaving sweetly towards Mr. Xavier all because of his wealth.

Abigail staggered backward, not expecting such an outburst from Mr. Kim, Mr. Xavier’s driver.

“You are just a common driver so don’t speak when I am talking” she grits her teeth.

“He is part of this family” Mr. Xavier frowned

“so watch how you speak to him”

Mr. Kim sat down, bowing his head to Mr. Xavier to show how grateful he was that he stood up for him.

Alex stood to his feet on recalling something.

His eyes bloodshot and he stares at Abigail with so much disgust.

He was going to put Abigail in her place

and make her know he is actually Alexander Xavier, the only heir of the Xavier family.
