The threat wasn’t poetic. It wasn’t exaggerated.

It was serious. Dead serious.

Every hair on Calista’s body stood at attention. Her lips trembled, and her knees nearly buckled under her. She had never, not once in her life, felt fear like this in a luxury boutique.

This was supposed to be her territory, she was the queen here, but now, the kingdom was gone, and the sword was pointed at her neck.

She could feel it this wasn’t the man she was used to seeing in press conferences and public meetings. This wasn’t the calm and diplomatic director she always thought she could one day see, and have a conversation with him.

This man… this version of him… was dangerous.

And she knew instantly that if she pushed one more step forward, she wouldn’t just lose her reputation.

She’d lose everything.

For a brief second, she glanced at Tyler, still standing quietly beside his mother. No words, no expressions. Just calm… too calm.
