Chapter 29: Zone Boss – “Devourer Tyrant” (Level 55) Part 1

The Southern District now belonged to the Nexus.

Four days after the territorial expansion, the new domain pulsed with frenetic activity. Nearly 400 loyalists worked day and night to integrate the new areas—fortifying secondary walls, converting buildings into Safe Zones, and training in the multiple Basic Training Rooms Xander had created. The title "Lord of the Southern Dominion" granted him a steady increase in Authority Points, and the territory responded to his will like a living organism.

But not everything was peaceful.

In the heart of the old Southern Industrial Park, a dimensional anomaly had manifested two days after the conquest. A gigantic black-and-purple vortex swirled slowly above an abandoned factory, releasing an oppressive aura that drove even common monsters to flee the region.

Xander Voss stood in the makeshift command center—the former city hall building—surrounded by his three closest vassals and his general.

He wore only black tactical trousers; his bare torso openly displayed the results of his multiple evolutions. Dense muscles, bulging veins traced with golden energy, and a presence so oppressive that the air around him seemed heavier. Level 39. The ethereal crown above his head spun faster than usual.

"It’s a Zone Boss," said Elena Kurogami, projecting a hologram above the table. Her brown eyes gleamed with dangerous fascination. "Official name: Devourer Tyrant. Level 55. Type: Dimensional Devourer. It has taken up residence beneath the Central Factory and is consuming all the zone's dimensional energy. If we don't eliminate it, the entire Southern District will become a wasteland in less than two weeks."

Lira Voss crossed her arms, her athletic body tense within her light armor. Her red hair was tied back in a high braid. — Level 55... We barely managed to kill a Level 45 Void General. Going in unprepared is suicide.

Sylas “Ghost” lingered in the shadows of the room’s corner, his gray eyes as cold as blades.

"I can infiltrate and weaken it beforehand. Poisons. Traps. I can sever its dimensional tendons."

Marcus Reed, now Level 26, snapped a salute.

"My men are ready to die for the Sovereign. But against something of that level... we’ll need every buff possible."

Xander remained silent for nearly a minute, analyzing the hologram with Omniscient Analysis pushed to the limit. The Devourer Tyrant was a colossal abomination—a being of pulsating black flesh, dimensional tentacles, a circular maw filled with rotating teeth, and a core that devoured the very reality around it.

Finally, he spoke. His deep voice resonated with absolute authority:

"We’re going to kill it. Today. This is the first Zone Boss in our territory. If we defeat it, the South District will be completely stabilized. And I’ll gain something I don’t have yet."

He looked at the three women, then at Marcus.

"Ready all elite combatants. Lira, Elena, and Sylas are coming with me. Marcus, you command the external support force. No one enters the lair without my order."

Elena bit her lower lip, clearly both excited and worried.

"You’re going to use Administrator Privilege, aren’t you?"

Xander smiled. A cold, predatory, and utterly dominant smile.

"Only if necessary."

The Devourer Tyrant’s lair was a nightmare made flesh.

The abandoned factory had been completely consumed. The walls were now thick, pulsating veins; the floor, a black organic mass that clung to their feet like raw flesh. The air reeked of sour blood and the void of the dimension. The further they descended through the organic tunnels, the more distorted the world seemed—gravity fluctuating, sounds echoing in reverse, shadows moving on their own.

Xander led the elite group: Lira, Elena, Sylas, Marcus, and twelve of the best fighters (all above Level 18, thanks to previous Quests).

When they reached the central chamber, the air seemed to be sucked right out of their lungs.

The Devourer Tyrant was colossal.

Nearly 25 meters tall. An amorphous body of black flesh and dimensional tentacles that tore through space-time. A gigantic circular mouth in the center of its torso, spinning with thousands of serrated teeth. Its eyes—twelve in total—gleamed with cruel intelligence and insatiable hunger.

Floating above it was a colossal red display:

[Zone Boss: Devourer Tyrant – Level 55 (Legendary)]

Abilities: Devour Reality, Dimensional Tear, Infinite Regeneration, Soul Consumption, Tyrant’s Dominion.

The Tyrant opened its circular mouth and spoke in a voice that seemed to come from a thousand dimensions at once:

"Sovereign... little sovereign... do you dare enter my domain? I will devour your soul and broadcast your suffering for the Harvesters to watch."

Xander raised his sword. His crown glowed intensely.

"Begin."

The battle exploded into action.

Lira unleashed a barrage of arrows imbued with max-level Parasitic Threads. Sylas vanished into dimensional shadows, reappearing to sever tendons and inject potent poisons. Elena hurled chemical grenades that ate away at the monster's flesh. Marcus and the soldiers formed a defensive line, using Tactical Command to maintain cohesion.

Xander stood at the vanguard.
