I took a bath to wash himself off me and also calm the fuck down.

This shouldn’t have happened…

I loved the sex…I loved the way he took me but at the same time,I wished it didn’t happen.

I walked back into my bedroom and a glistening object beside my pillow caught my attention…I walked up to it and my eyes widened to see that it was the brooch…

The brooch from the auction?

Mrs Luca’s brooch!

My heart pounded heavily and I had to sit down and I held it shakily.

Was it for me?

But he didn’t say so.

Since it appears he came here after the party…

Did he accidentally leave it here?

He had said he would give it to the woman he loves most.

That was Vanessa,right?

Was it perhaps me?

What if he left this for me?

I swallowed…

I slowly dropped the brooch on the bed.

I shook my head and started to get ready for work.

I wore a turtleneck to hide the

hickeys on my neck.

After getting dressed,I stood in front of the mirror and I noticed I had an hickey on my cheek as well.

Ugh!

I applied more make up on my face to hide how disheveled I looked.

I stared at the monitor of my computer for the umpteenth time but I still couldn’t concentrate and get things done.

My intercom rang and I picked up.

“Sir,Mr Calvin Hudson is here.”Stella said to me.

I sighed.”Let him in,”

I hung up and leaned against my swivel chair as I watched Calvin strode in.

He had a smile on his face as he placed a small box on my table.

“This is the latest wrist watch…I was told it’s just two of this type in the country.”

I rolled my eyes.”So?”

“I go it for you.”He grinned and sat opposite to me.

“A peace offering,huh?”

Calvin laughed.”You could say that.”

“What are you doing here?”

“Well,I guessed you might still be angry over Tessa and I and I came to explain things to you.There’s absolutely nothing between us.”

“I know and I won’t blame you entirely because you didn’t know I was married to her.But now you know,so stay far away from her.”

I knew very well that he was attracted to her.

“Declan,you two are divorced but I can tell you still love her.No wonder you’re yet to make a move on Vanessa.”

“Stop saying nonsense.”

I didn’t want him to see me as a weak man.

It was bad enough that I knew I was too weak when it comes to that woman.

I’m practically at her mercy.

“Okay,”

“I’m aware your relationship with Kayla is quite rocky at the moment and if you want someone else…it’s fine but it can’t be Tessa,understand?”

He ran a hand through his hand.

“I get it.I won’t make a move on her.”

I sighed,relieved.”Do not go back on your words.”

“I won’t.”He assured.”I should get back to work now.”

“Do you have time to hang out tonight?”

He grinned.”I suppose I do.You seem to be in a very good mood today.”

I tried not to smile.

How can I not when I just spent a sizzling night with the woman I love?

“Hmm…are you coming tonight or what?”

He laughed.”I will.Text me the address.”And then he left.

I leaned against the swivel chair again and brought out my cellphone.

I slid into my gallery and smiled.

There were pictures of a woman sleeping so peacefully.

My woman.

I had taken pictures of Tessa before I left her apartment this morning.
