Chapter 159

The call rang and Benjamin picked it up from the other end, his voice teasing but with frustration and mocking. “Oh, madam slapper is calling. Finally.” He chuckled low but cold.

Georgina frowned. “Please, stop, Benjamin. This isn't the time for this,” she said, “what happened last night wasn't intentional.”

Benjamin chuckled bitterly. “Really? You slapped me so hard on the face that it left my face burning so severely, just to be calling me now to tell me it wasn't deliberate?”

Georgina swallowed hard, her face pale. “Okay, fine, fine,” she interjected. “I deliberately did it.” She clearly accepted it with a nod. “I made it look real so everything would look real. Didn't you see how he was looking at us as if being suspicious of us, did you?”

She paused briefly, taking in a deep breath before riding on. “If I didn't do what I did, he would have known that we have something to do together, and you know what that means? Our plans would've been destroyed.”
