The sales associate’s smile of desperation to sell earlier slowly faltered, replaced with something else that was unreadable.

There were so many others, way affordable than she had expected Anthony to choose from.

Looking at Anthony, the sales associate smiled faintly, “Sir, are you sure you really want to purchase this? There are less expensive ones you can opt for.” She said, “I'll do the favor of showing them to you one after the other.”

Hearing that, Anthony knew she was looking down on him. However, he shook his head, standing firm on his word as he repeated, “No, not opting for another. I want to purchase the NQi GT Pro. How much is it worth?”

Seeing how firm Anthony's words were, the sales associate gave a short shrug and swallowed hard. If he insists, then there's no problem.

Maybe if he hears the price, he'll have no other option but to opt for an affordable one. The sales associate thought in her mind.

With that, she cleared her throat and answered, still skeptical about Anthony's decision. She observed Anthony's reaction while she replied, “It's worth $6,000.”

Anthony blinked at the price, not that it was too expensive, but because it was even cheaper than he had expected it to be.

He'd thought it would be something that cost up to $20,000 or so, however, it wasn't even up to $10,000.

The sales associate mistook the winking of Anthony's eyes as if he was startled. Giving a faint smile, she said, “I told you, sir, that it's quite expensive, but like I said earlier, you can make a different choice. It's all left over to you to decide.”

Anthony, however, left her belittling words in the cold but said politely, “Bring it out from the showroom, and let's proceed with the payment.”

The sales associate raised a brow, “Uh, sir. Are you sure you want to do this?” She asked.

Anthony nodded, firmly, “Yes, I'm serious. I'm buying it now.”

The sales associate was hesitant at first, skepticism creeping onto her face. Although she wanted to sell the scooter, she doubted whether Anthony was the right client for it.

After much hesitation, the sales associate finally brought out the scooter, and Anthony touched it, carefully scrutinizing it. He nodded, pleased with his choice, “Cool.”

“For the payment…” the sales associate announced, ignoring how Anthony was admiring the scooter. “We accept bank transfers, checks, and even card swiping. Whichever best suits you, you can proceed with it.” She politely said, although she did not have full trust in Anthony.

Realizing he hadn't transferred it to his bank account, nor did he have a Venom MasterCard for withdrawal. It wasn't something he would do right, so Anthony replied, “Let's go with the transfer.”

“Alright. A minute,” the sales associate nodded and provided the account details that Anthony should transfer into.

Seeing the account details, Anthony opened his Venmo app right off the bat, and it loaded within a minute. A broadened smile appeared on Anthony's face as he saw the money in his account again. It was fully loaded.

Without much care about it, Anthony began to punch in the account number while the sales associate watched him closely, waiting to see the disappointment on his face.

Soon, a name showed on his screen, and Anthony looked up and enquired before proceeding, “Scooters Co. is the name, right?”

“Yes.” The sales associate tipped her head in response. Then Anthony proceeded and in the next minute, he said, “Done….I have transferred the money.”

There was a hint of doubt that laced the sales associate's face. However, she looked down at the system’s screen.

Immediately, a message popped up. It was a credit alert notification from the money that Anthony just transferred.

Credit: “$6,500.”

Her heart skipped for an instant, glancing at the transfer alert on the computer. Her jaw dropped to the ground, and her skeptical expression was suddenly replaced with surprise.

“I…..I have seen it.” The sales associate stammered, wiping her eyes to get a clear sense of what she was seeing. It still felt surreal to her.

Quickly, she said, “But, sir, I think you made a mistake. It was supposed to be $6,000, not $6,500.” She was ready to refund Anthony the extra $500.

But Anthony shook his head, smiling, “No, it's actually not a mistake.” He replied. “It's just me appreciating your professional approach. That's just a ‘thank you' tip. Manage it.”

“Ah!” The sales associate screamed, on cloud nine. “This is a rare kind of gesture. Thank you so much. I appreciate it.” She said with a genuine thanks.

In her mind, something said: *Have you seen why it's not good to judge people at first sight? If you had shown him disrespect at first, would you have gotten this free $500?* She shook her head to her inner thoughts.

Indeed, it's bad to judge a book by its cover!

Right off the bat, she started to prepare paperwork for the scooter purchased, and within thirty minutes, she was done. Handing it to Anthony, she offered, genuinely, “Let me help you get the scooter outside.”

Nevertheless, Anthony shook his head, declining, “Don't worry, I'll do it. Go ahead with other things. Have a nice day.” He grabbed the scooter with his hand to leave.

The sales associate stood there and watched him until he was out of sight. Then, she took a deep breath and turned around, energized to face the next task for the day.

Stepping outside, onlookers began to look at Anthony with both admiration and envy at the scooter he was grabbing.

Anthony's gaze met theirs, but he didn't pay much attention to it. He sat on the scooter’s seat comfortably, and a surge of renewal washed over him.

He glanced down at the sleek display of the scooter’s dashboard, carefully studying and taking note of each button.

When he was done studying it, he carefully pressed the ‘power button,’ and in a few seconds, the scooter was turned on,, and the dashboard screen lit up, showing battery status, speed settings, and other relevant information.

Seeing everything coming to life seamlessly without much effort, Anthony nodded, impressed. “Isn't bad.” Following, he carefully pressed the throttle located on the right side of the handlebars, and the scooter activated, ready to move.

“Alright, it's time to go get our first car,” Anthony mumbled to himself, beaming, and with that, he fired down onto the road.

Liam smiled and nodded, “Yes. There are still a whole lot of things I need to show you.” He said, “Please, come with me.” Anthony hesitated, still looking around the whole room, before he nodded and followed him. Liam took him around the room and began to show him everything he needed to know. Anthony only nodded and remained silent, taking in everything as Liam explained professionally. When Liam was finally done, Anthony thanked him, “It was a plain explanation, easy to understand. Thanks for your explanation.” Liam beamed, happy he got everything, “It's my pleasure, Mr. Lawrence.” He observed his faint expression and asked, “Would you like to have something for lunch? I'll have it brought to you.” Remembering he said he wanted to purchase his first and new ride today, Anthony shook his head, “Thanks, but I've got something to attend to. Maybe that will be for another day.” Liam felt disappointed when he declined his request, but he nodded, “No problem, sir. Let me

Liam's hand trembled uncontrollably on his phone, finding it difficult to believe Mrs Samantha was actually calling. He glanced at Anthony. Was this young man telling the truth? Astonishment kicked in. Anthony looked at him and gave him a heads-up, urging him to pick up, “Go ahead, it's your boss calling.” He said with a brief smile that vanished almost immediately. Liam nodded, hit the answer button, and pressed the phone to his ear. “What took you so long to pick up?” Samantha's voice came out abruptly. Liam was quick to apologize, his voice slightly shaking, “I'm sorry, ma….” He still occasionally glanced at Anthony. “Hmm…alright. Hope you have seen that young man with you there, that's my son I told you about. He's the heir from now on; make sure to guide him through everything, alright?” “....alright. I'll do absolutely everything within my knowledge and experience to ensure he's perfectly trained.” Liam nodded, reassuring. “I trust you on that. Now, have a nic

Soon, Anthony arrived at the place. Almighty Anthony's Empire! Dipping his hand into his pocket, he paid the driver before stepping out. He froze as he stared at the towering height of the building; his heart skipped nervously. The driver who hadn't driven off after being paid said with concern, “Be careful as you go in, young man. Heard a lot about how people who go in there without a purpose get beaten up.” Then he drove away. Anthony watched him drive off and nodded. Taking in a confident breath to eradicate the nervousness, Anthony approached the large gate and knocked on it. “Who's that?” A voice came out, and the gate was opened, and a gate guard stepped out. His eyes trailed Anthony from his head down to his toes with disgust. “Are you the garbage man my boss told me would be coming in today?” He further asked. Anthony didn't want to start explaining himself to the gate guard, so he nodded, and the gate was opened wide for him. “Make sure you don't lean or touch

“Miss Charlotte, I saw Anthony, your husband, tore this before leaving the compound, and when I had a close look, it was a cheque, so I decided to come show it to you.” One of the clueless maidservants said, bowing her head as she handed the four pieces of paper to Charlotte. Smack! Smack! A tight slap went across her face twice. And her face went downcast, wincing in pain with her hand on the spot. It was Aria who slapped her before Charlotte could even react. “Don't you dare refer to that worthless orphan as my daughter's husband ever again! They're divorced, do you understand?!” The maidservant gave a knee-jerk reaction, “Yes, Ma. I'm sorry.” “Now get lost!” Aria gave her a quick gesture towards the exit door. And she nodded and wanted to hurry away, but Aria called back to her. “Go to his room, gather all his rag belongings, and set them on fire.” The maid-servant then nodded and hurried away with an “Okay, ma.” Aria then sighed annoyedly and looked at Charlott

Just as the call ended, Anthony stared at his phone in disbelief. He didn't know whether to scream or not—a very popular and rich family claiming that he was their son.Who is he to decline when he had always dreamed of this kind of life, but had never imagined it was coming too quickly? As he pondered above everything again and again, he buzzed up and began to ring again; it was the same number. So, he didn't hesitate to pick it up.“Hello, Anthony; I've contacted him, and they are eagerly waiting to have you so the operation can begin,” Samantha said right after the call connected.Anthony was still skeptical. “How am I sure you aren't lying here?” He asked. “Almighty Anthony's Empire is a powerful company, and you know how they can just kick me out if I go there.”“Don't fear anything. Nothing will happen to you; take my word!” Samantha said with so much firmness. However, Anthony shook his head unbeknownst to her, mumbling, “I'm not going. You want them to kill me.” Samantha pre

Anthony was taken aback by the mention of his name. How did this man get to know his name? And who is he? His mind was a whirlwind of thoughts. But he found himself nodding slowly, even though the man couldn't see him. “Yes, I'm Anthony,” he accepted and added, “and please, if you don't mind, may I know how you know my name and who you are?” He asked. The man from the other end chuckled softly, barely audible as he spoke with deep emotions, “Just like the way his mother talks—calm and respectful. Ah, my dear, Anthony! I can't believe I'm talking to you right now. I wish I could see your child-like face and touch it.” Anthony wasn't moved by the emotional words. Instead, a deep frown etched on his face. What was this man talking about—calling him dear? And why was he also talking about his mother? His eyebrows furrowed with surprise, yet a slight annoyance. He was pretty sure he had no parents. He was trained and brought up in the orphanage until Harold Westley, Charlotte'

Just after Anthony left, Charlotte, who had been watching as he exited, finally let out a relieved sigh. A wide grin parted her lips. Now, she was happy that Anthony was out of her life for good! Aria also exhaled, feeling at ease. They were about to experience a new phase of life, especially now that Anthony had left them for good. She thought with a lingering smile. Charlotte, all of a sudden, stood up on her feet, seeming to remember something. Aria raised an eyebrow at her. “Charlotte, what is it?” She asked. “His belongings,” Charlotte responded, “Anthony forgot to take his properties with him.” Her voice was laced with a little bit of concern. Aria frowned, “Why do you act like you care? Besides, those things of his are rags!” She then waved her hand in dismissal, “I'll instruct the servant to set them on fire after now.” Charlotte paused, looking at her mother before finally settling down in her seat. Meanwhile, as Anthony got outside, the servants’ gaze locke

“I'm done with this marriage of a thing—It’s over between the both of us, Anthony.” Charlotte Harold said icily, seated across with her arms crossed on her chest. Anthony’s eyes rose with surprise. But he found himself chuckling softly, disbelieving what Charlotte had just said. His hand flew to his chest as if it skipped at Charlotte's words. “Come on, Charlotte. Stop it. Stop joking about something as serious as this. Do you have any idea how my heart almost left my soul?” He casually said with a small smile, thinking she was just joking. However, Charlotte repeated, “Do I look like I'm joking?” She frowned. “I'm deadly serious about it, Anthony. It's over between us.” Not a single sign of a smile escaped her face. “I'm now the CEO of a big company that is held in high regard. This same company is worth over $30 million, qualifying it for the list of the top 20 richest companies in town. And someone like you shouldn't be seen around me.” “What’s that supposed to mean,
