Berminting Hotel,

After a little deliberation, we decided not to go back home in case we were followed or the doctor tried something funny although he seemed like the polite type, definitely not to feel good.

That's how we ended up in the Berminting Hotel, a medium-sized Hotel known for its 'wonderful' services here in Downtown Vale. It was my first time staying in a hotel in this world, so I have no reference to compare but at least it beats whatever I experienced on Earth.

Presently, I and Noah are chilling by a pool lounge while discussing in low voices, we were the only ones at the lounge because no one really uses the pool at this time, "There are three gangs splitting Downtown Vale amongst themselves, Electric Badger Crew, Jackal Company and Women of Limbo.

If I am to rate them in the same manner as the system? Although, I am assuming. The Women of Limbo happened to be the strongest, being a 3-stars gang with the largest share of territory in downtown Vale. The other two are 2-stars but the Electric Badger Crew is slightly weaker.

When his final words came out, I couldn't help squinting at Noah with a "what the H**l" face.

"Chill, That's not what I want to talk about ", He added.

"Is there something else to talk about?" I asked calmly but he simply said..." yes, I'll explain later, for now, could you chill and listen to me? Hahaha," to which I deadpanned...

"Ok"

"What I want to talk about is the issue of recruitment."

"Yeah I was thinking about that, it is going to be hard to get good people right now unless..."

"Are you sure though? There is something we haven't tried "

"..." I stared at him for a good second before I thought about it carefully, 'what are the odds that we could get summons as rewards '

After a little thinking, I said, "Let's try it"

The following morning, I casually put on my hoodie while thinking, 'Everything we bought yesterday should have been delivered to the house, won't that be a problem?'.

I smacked Noah on the face to wake the sleepyhead while taking a big bite of the processed steak on the side table. Noah grunts in response but soon wakes up quickly enough to avoid the second slap that I just sent out.

"What time is it?" he asks groggily.

"08:22 am my brother, we have a big day ahead of us ya know". He struggles to make it to the bathroom, obviously hungover, so I graciously ordered some supplements with a call.

Not long after there was a knock at the door and I got my order.

About 20 minutes later, we were out of the hotel.

We began walking around Downtown Vale in order to find a good, cheap, and easily disposal property for a safe house and maybe one for a bar or something.

Didn't take long to find an old warehouse for 17000 star credits, we paid for the place in a round about manner. We had someone stand in for us while buying it under the name of the Crows.

Immediately the transaction was over, we both got a system notification.

Huh? I barely had time to worry about the notification when a sudden jabbing pain erupted at the nape of his neck.

The fiery pain shot through the nerves, spine, and bones like crackling lightning, causing me to double over terribly, and my head smashed into a nearby pallet.

I gritted my teeth, trying to bear the pain but it was unlike anything I had ever experienced in my two lifetimes. It was like stubbing my toe but all over my being.

My arms felt the prick of a thousand needles inside every vein, capillary, and pore, while my abdomen cramped up. I bent over as I rolled around on the ground, my back began to sweat profusely, my head thumping with the sound of my accelerating heartbeat.

It was simply painful to even breathe, it made me take short, measured breaths to withstand whatever was happening to my body. My hands gripping anything I could reach in sheer tension.

It felt like my body began to swell and contract in a grotesque fashion, as though something alien within was remodeling my body from within. It felt like a hot iron branding me from within, resulting in me nearly crying out in pain.

Too many effects and processes were happening internally, making it hard for me to focus on what was exactly happening, not to mention the mind-numbing pain.

I had no idea how much time had passed until the pain finally subsided, allowing me to finally take a breather. My body felt exhausted, as though it had burnt all the energy I had in a single instant. I looked around in confusion as I noticed Noah wasn't any better.

"MOTHAF*CKA!!!" He yelled in frustration.

I suddenly didn't feel like standing anymore but I turned around with a groan before saying "it wasn't like this during the installation before ugh!"

I didn't check the skills in-depth but immediately checked the time. It was night-time already – the class integration had taken most of the day. Our bodies were covered in sweat and blood, prompting me to order a cab service back home.

It didn't take long for a self-driving cab to come pick us up, none of us spoke on the way home.

The comfort grade black taxi started driving slowly, heading towards our home.

"Hello, dear guests, the temperature of Spark City is on the milder side today, so try taking a refreshing bath and cool off.  it is also advised to avoid Maximus driveway due to the attack of some Cyber terrorists in that area, do you mind me taking the old district?."

"Sure, do what is best... Are there any other hot news?"

"If you are referring to recent hot news, then what everyone is talking about recently is the explosion at Daydream Main Hospital."

"The officer in charge has tagged it as gas leak... But there are a lot of rumors." the car's synthetic voice kept going on as my mind slowly drifted off.

Soon a simple thought came up, 'This World is dangerous, I'll just have to be worse?!'.
