Jace slowly turned to him..

“I can help you though,” the guy continued, standing up. “Just—” he stepped closer, lowering his voice, “let’s tell everyone you’re my stepbrother.”

He grinned. A nasty fucking grin.

“People love plot twists. I want to make a name for myself before your fame flickers out,” he added. “We let them soak it all in, then boom—tell them it’s a joke. And since you’re already a joke to the world, you might as well make money off it.”

He pulled out his phone.

“How much do you need? Fifty grand?”

Jace stared at him.

The guy leaned in even closer. “Don’t overthink it. Just say yes. And maybe—maybe—I’ll consider helping you go up against Maya.”

Jace exhaled through his nose, slow and sharp.

“You should’ve learned something in the last couple of minutes,” he said quietly. “Hell, Robert’s downfall should’ve taught you all some basic fucking sense.”

The guy chuckled, unbothered. “So you’ve grown some guts now.”

He stepped back, smoothing his jacket. “Let’s see how long that lasts. I’m one of Robert’s main guys. I’ll send you an address. Come meet me. You’ll see the rest of the team.”

He turned to leave—then stopped. Spun back dramatically.

“Oh—and you really are a joke to all of us,” he said lazily. “Funny thing? Maya’s parents have never stepped in for her before.”

A slow smile spread across his face.

“Guess you’re special.”

And, of course, the damn guy was already walking away, and this was supposed to be the end of this basic shit. Because some fools are worth your time, and some—bothering yourself to give a fuck about them—is only going to wreck your mental health in the most spectacular ways.

But, of course, life’s never simple. Two students had been lurking nearby, probably just trying to catch some fucking video. And because the white‑haired guy thought this was his moment to shine on social media, like hell, he wanted to be that guy in a video with Jace, mouthing off like he had a clue.

He spun around, smirk plastered on his face, straight at Jace.

“We could hang out though,” he said, cocky as fuck, “you were just some days away from getting your ‘baby’s’ tattoos on your back.”

Fucking Jace. The bastard he was, he should’ve kept walking, kept ignoring the idiot. But some fools don’t get the hint—they keep talking shit until it’s going to cost them.

He stepped closer, his voice dripping venom. “I’m still fucking sore about that baby shit. You shouldn’t have come up with it. Now I think I’m going to fucking cry.”

The white‑haired guy froze, confused. Typical response would’ve been for Jace to lose it, maybe kick him in the balls and turn it into a demonstration of his martial arts skills.

“How about some drinks tonight?” Jace said casually, like he wasn’t dismantling a man in real time. “I’ve got no friends, you know. And all those folks in the basketball team—bring them along. Bills on me. We’ll meet at H. Jay’s by 8 p.m.”

Then—just to really fuck with the idiot’s head—he patted him lightly on the back.

“No girls,” Jace added over his shoulder, already walking off in the opposite direction to deal with the bullshit score. Like the guy wasn’t even worth a backward glance.

The white‑haired guy stood there for half a second too long before panic slammed into him.

He rushed at the two students.

“Hey—hey, wait,” he said, breath uneven. “Please don’t upload that. How much do you need? No—wait—” He fumbled, dragged out his wallet, shoved two cards forward. “You can dye your hair for free. Anytime. In my store.”

The two of them exchanged a look.

Then, right in front of him, they tapped their screens and deleted the videos.

The relief nearly dropped him to his knees.

He stormed off immediately, dialing furiously, already plotting how the rest of the team was going to deal with Jace. The disrespect was unbearable. The humiliation tasted metallic in his mouth. He could fucking die from it.

But back with the two students—

They paused.

Free hair dye…

or

a once‑in‑a‑lifetime video of Jace psychologically skinning a man alive?

They smiled.

Seconds later, the video was uploaded everywhere.

Caption:

“A discreet meeting btw Jace and some dude. You won’t believe this!!!”

Within minutes, the views started climbing.

Fast.

It was like some people were fucking living just to get the next update about Jace.

The second the video dropped, the comments section detonated.

“Fucking insane!”

“So he’s dealing with the BIG boys now??”

“Robert’s basketball team???”

“Why is no one talking about H. Jay’s???”

“Last time I checked, soft drinks cost THIRTY GRAND there!!”

“Pls like and comment so this reaches more people. someone HAS to go!!”

“MORE VIDEOS!!!”

“The suspense is killing meeeee ”

“No movie has ever done this.”

Five minutes.

Eighteen million views.

The algorithm didn’t just pick it up—it grabbed it by the throat.

****

Out in the parking lot, the white‑haired guy was storming toward his car when his phone started vibrating.

It didn’t stop.

Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.

Annoyed, he yanked it out of his pocket.

999+ messages.

His chest tightened.

Someone had sent him the video.

He clicked it.

His eyes widened in pure fucking horror.

He looked up—

And froze.

Idiots were already rushing toward him, phones raised, Livestreams running, mouths open like vultures smelling blood.

“Yo! Is that you in the video—”

“Say something for the camera!”

“Are you really meeting Jace tonight??”

“Are you scared??”

“Is this beef real??”

“Bro—bro—BRO—”

“MOVE,” he barked, shoving past them.

He barely made it into the car.

“Drive!” he snapped at his driver. “NOW!”

The door slammed. The car jerked forward.

Inside, his hands were shaking as he dialed.

“Guys,” he growled into the phone, pacing between rage and panic, “we have to put this nigga in his place. Tonight. This evening.”

His jaw clenched so hard it hurt.

“This shit can’t go on.”

Darryl had the fucking necklace in his hand. He’d spent the past hour checking every corner of the place, trying to figure out where Iris was before he finally spotted her. His mood was still sour from what Maya had pulled—announcing to the whole world that she was still dating Jace. But Darryl chose to believe it was damage control. For his name. For the mess that party had caused. It had to make sense. It had to add up.He stepped out of the car after his driver parked in the lot.And because rotten luck had a personal vendetta against him, he saw Iris almost immediately—just a few feet away.“Right…” he muttered under his breath, already moving toward her.He didn’t make it far.Security—faces he didn’t recognize—closed in from nowhere, stopping him cold. Their height, their build, the way they formed a wall in front of him… it shrank him. Instantly.“You can’t go closer to her,” one of them said. His voice was thick, heavy—like the dog that had bitten Darryl back in middle school.

Jace dropped the tablet. No—he let it fall, like the thing had suddenly grown teeth and burned him. He stood there for half a second, then laughed once, sharp and disbelieving, before walking straight to the mirror. He stared at his reflection.Hard.Like he was expecting Maya to be staring back at him from inside his own face.He leaned closer, eyes narrowing, checking every angle, every expression, as if she might have somehow swapped his soul into another body.Because, honestly—there wasn’t any shit that girl couldn’t do.He was still doubting his own fucking existence when the doorbell rang.Once.Then again. He turned slowly.Of course. He walked over and swung the door open without hesitation. If he didn’t answer, she’d either wait there all day or keep blasting the doorbell like a lunatic. Either way, he needed to make things very clear—clear enough that she’d never even think of coming back again. And there she was.Another fucking devil. The one he went to the party with.He

Her hand scrambled to the door. She tried to open it, fingers slipping, heart racing—but because of her nervousness, she couldn’t.“If I count to three and you don’t open the door—” Jace said.“I can’t open it. Please, just be patient,” she said in panic. Her fingers shook harder, nails scraping uselessly against the handle. Then finally—it clicked. The door opened. She paused. Looked back at him. Her voice came out small.“I’m sorry… for the kiss… earlier.”“I was about to remind you,” Jace said coldly. “Fucking brush your teeth or something. You had a horrible smell earlier.”Her chest dropped. It was like something inside her collapsed inward. She managed to look away from him, face burning, ears ringing. With wobbly feet, she got out of the car. Closed the door. Started walking toward her room, tears already pooling in her eyes. What?Mouth odour? She rushed to her suite, slammed the door behind her, and immediately called her mother.“Mom,” she said, breath uneven, “do I have mou

Iris didn’t know why a blush crept across her face. Everything she’d been taught—every moral lesson drilled into her as a kid—screamed that Jace was a walking red flag. The exact type her parents and elder brothers warned her about. And yet… how do you avoid a guy this sharp? This untouchable?“You own eighty percent of the shares now. We should talk,” the VC said, frustration leaking through.“Eighty percent means I’ve got shit to do too,” Jace shot back, “and courtesy says you respect my fucking time.”“The reason I couldn’t tell you anything and just had to watch was because Maya’s parents—”“Control your fucking brain?” Jace exploded. “That’s why you went to the press and told them she was using me to conduct some bullshit experiment about how humans behave socially? And then kept me in the fucking dark?”“You’re getting it all mixed up, son—”“I’m not your fucking son,” Jace snapped, voice lethal. “Even my drug-addict father wouldn’t pull this kind of shit just to fund his damn h

Jace had managed to escape the stupid party unhurt. He didn’t know if Iris was hurt—really, he didn’t give a damn if she had lost her head and it was a headless body that had followed him into the car. Well… maybe that wasn’t the case, because he could still hear her panting faintly beside him.And because he wasn’t about to fucking ask her if she was okay, he turned on the music and cranked the volume higher. Louder. Enough to drown out everything. No girl was ever getting close to his heart again. Ever. The fucking damn party—he would’ve regretted the whole shit if not for the fact that he had put fucking Daryl in his place. A bunch of kids organizing parties when they couldn’t even clean up their own mess. Pathetic. His phone vibrated against the fucking console. He picked it up, half-expecting it to be James. That bastard would definitely have jokes lined up already, ready to laugh his lungs out.But it was a strange number. He didn’t bother turning the music down before answering

Maya stood up from the sofa. Five of them were in the room, including Daryl. He was looking down, shoulders slumped, filled with shame—but not a single ounce of remorse for what he had done. The only thing that truly hurt him was the fact that he had broken down in front of the camera. Not the chaos. Not the danger. The exposure.“It’s all fucked,” Daryl muttered, still not daring to raise his head. “Wasn’t thinking. Should have…” He let out a ragged breath. “Should have waited until we met outside the school, with no cameras or something. But… we can work out something else, right? We should be able to.”He risked a glance at Maya.“You messed up. Do you know what everyone on the socials are screaming about right now?” one of them asked, voice tight with anger.“I’m sorry, guys,” Daryl said, then looked back at Maya. “Do you have any idea of what we can do? I’m really—” He swallowed hard, throat dry.“I don’t need your help again. Violence and my name are not something you find side
