“I can't afford to let him live again, I have to end this here and now, I don't care what he was made of or the coincidence that had changed his faith from death. This time, he's dying for sure,” Laura mumbled to herself, her hands trembling, as she stepped forward.
Laura reached into her bag and pulled out a syringe filled with a deadly poison. Once injected, survival was impossible—unless a specific antidote was administered to its victim within two hours. And the only person who was in possession of the antidote was Leonard himself. Clutching the syringe tightly, Laura walked toward Nathan’s hospital bed, her hands still trembling. Nathan's survival was a mystery to her, so she sees him like something that's impossible. Just as she was about to plunge the needle into him, Nathan’s hand shot up and gripped her wrist. “What the hell do you think you’re doing, you demon in human form?” Nathan growled through gritted teeth, his eyes darkened in anger. Laura’s heart slammed in her chest, her heart beat heat above usual as if she was having a cardiac attack. That voice—bold, firm and alive—confirmed every rumor she’d heard and what she was seeing to be true. Nathan was completely healed, and his strength was beyond, his grip on her wrist was already crushing her bone. The syringe slipped from Laura's hands and clattered to the floor, rolling on the ground before it came to a stop. “How… How can you talk? The bullet passed through your head, even though you were supposed to be Alife, the bullet it self would have uttered your speech,” Laura stammered, her hands shaking uncontrollably, the sharp pain from her wrist shooting into her nerves. “You bastards… you guys would pay, all that your family had done to me, I would never let it slide, I must make sure I lay my revenge, especially you bitch.” Nathan’s voice was low and venomous as he spoke through gritted teeth. “And I swear—I’ll get to the bottom of this,” he added. Laura dropped to her knees, scrambling for the syringe. But before her fingers could reach it, Nathan pushed his hands more quicker and picked it first. In a swift motion, he rose from the bed and pinned her against the wall, her chest pressed onto the wall, and the needle’s sharp tip just an inch away from her neck. Nathan's eyes burned with pure fury, his hands gripping strong on the syringe. “Please… don’t inject me. I’m begging you,” Laura pleaded, though half of her face was pressed against the wall. Her pulse raced beneath the pressure of the syringe. “I won’t hesitate stabbing you with this needle multiple times, you wish me death, and me returning the favour is a pleasure,” Nathan sneered watching as Laura's heart raced. “But before that, I want you to answer a few questions. Your answer will decide if I drive this needle into you or not,” Nathan added, his breath warm onto Laura's neck. Laura swallowed hard, her throat dry. “What’s in this syringe?” Nathan demanded. Laura’s body trembled even more. “It’s… it’s a chemical… harmful to the body,” she blurted out a reply with trembling lips. Nathan smirked coldly. “Hmm. What if I test it on you first… and see exactly how harmful it is?” “No! Please don’t!” Laura cried. If the chemical entered her bloodstream and she didn’t receive the antidote within two hours, her body would begin shutting down—organ by organ—until death took over. At that moment, same blue translucent screen flickered into Nathan’s view. Words scrolled across it in glowing letters: “Chemical content detected. If administered to the human body, subject will die within two hours. Immediate effect: cardiac arrest.” Nathan stared at the message, realization dawning on him. The chemical was far deadlier than he’d imagined. “You bastards, so this was another of your plans, hehehe luckily I saw everything through,” Nathan scoffed. Nathan didn’t fully understand the floating screen which was only visible to him, but somehow, it felt like a part of him was embedded with whatever the thing in his front was. “Well then… Let’s see what happens when you take a dose,” Nathan said darkly. This time, he meant every word. Without hesitation, Nathan mercilessly plunged the syringe into Laura’s neck and pressed the plunger. Laura shrieked in pain as the liquid entered her veins. She collapsed to the floor, clutching her neck. “F-Fuck… Fuck…” she shouted, her voice cracking as her throat tightened. At that exact moment, the nurse returned—this time with the doctor. The two froze in shock at the sight before them: Nathan standing tall and the room was completely disarray, and Laura crumpled on the ground. “H-Hold on… He was supposed to be in a coma! How the hell is he standing?” the doctor stammered, his eyes wide in disbelief. He was the attending physician, and he knew Nathan’s condition had been so critical that even a year-long coma couldn't fix him. “Even if he survived… there was a high risk of brain damage,” the doctor murmured. “But here he is—completely fine. And… who is this woman?” The nurse stood speechless, her heart pounding in confusion. Nathan muttered under his breath, “I have to get out of here.” With that, he stormed out of the room. Outside, Laura staggered toward a waiting car. Jessica—her mother—was inside waiting for Laura to execute the mission and return back to the car, but it was a failure, and the moment Jessica saw her daughter stumbling, she rushed out and helped her into the vehicle. “What happened?” Jessica asked curiously, cupping Laura’s face with gentle hands. “Did you inject him? Was the mission successfully done?” Laura hesitated for a while, her breath shallow. “No… Mother… He injected me with it.” “What?” Jessica’s voice pitched in shock. “Are you kidding me? He was supposed to be in a coma! You were supposed to kill him while been asleep, how in the fucking hell was he able to inject you with it, what are you even saying,” Jessica barked Angrily, trying hard to believe what laura had said. “I know… He was supposed to be helpless. But he wasn’t. He was stronger than ever,” Laura rasped, coughing violently. Tears welled in her eyes. “I swear, Mother… I killed him before. I saw his heart stop. I saw the blood… I confirmed he was dead.” “That doesn’t matter now,” Jessica cut in firmly. “What matters is how we get the antidote before two hours are up.” Laura’s voice broke. “Will Father even give me the medicine? I failed him… again.” Jessica forced a calm she didn’t feel. “Of course he will. But we have to try—now.” Jessica snatched her phone from her purse quickly, intending to call Leonard. But before she could dial the number, her phone vibrated in her hand. “It's your dad, his calling,” Jessica mumbled, then quickly answered the call, pressing the phone to her ear. “Did you idiots finally get the job done?” Leonard’s voice thundered through the speaker, his voice cold and menacing. “Or did your stupid daughter screw it up again, letting love mess with family business?”Latest Chapter
Project sky Prototype
The room was built with technology far more advanced than anything Nathan had ever imagined, its walls glows with light, reacting with the temperature of the room as if coming to life. The room looked more like a vast research chamber, lined with massive computer screens. Each screen seemed to hold footage of different parts of the city, as if the entire world was under its surveillance. This place or more like a living tech was known as the God Eye—an artificial intelligence so sophisticated it could track almost anyone inside the parameters of the city.As Nathan was pacing forward inside the room admiring the stunning view of the tech, his hands mistakenly brushed against one of the metallic panels, and just in that instant the entire equipment in the room activated, and a voice resonated in that instant. “Computers is now life, welcome to the God eye, project sky prototype. Tell me your target, and I will locate them. I can be used for almost any research or information you desir
Call To Room 667
Nathan lay on his bed, staring at the white ceiling made of transparent glass with a show glass of light display above it. He couldn’t understand how he had been so foolish—how he had let his guard down enough for Laura to install a tracker on him without even knowing, and thanks to Henry for figuring out a way to fix his mistakes, which probably prevented the disaster. For a moment, Nathan had thought Laura was someone different, probably a changed person, or perhaps he had felt something genuine within her emotions that connected his heart with hers. But as it seems now, it all feels like it's faked from the very start, something that's not supposed to be.“Damn that bitch,” Nathan muttered, jaw tightening as his eyes stayed fixed upward staring at the beautiful display of the ceiling hovering above him. But above all, one thing kept Nathan unsettled within him, something that needed answers. Henry had explained certain fragments about his abilities, but he had never shared anythi
Something Out From Wickedness
Jessica could only stare at Laura, powerless against the decision her father had made. If she had any alternative to help, she would have stepped in, but at the moment, silence as Leonard had instructed is the best for Jessica to remain on. “You have to understand,” Leonard said, his tone sharp, “I’m only being harsh with you so you’ll take the family business seriously.”“But… but—” Laura tried to speak, but her father immediately cut her off.“This conversation is over. My punishment is final, and it takes immediate effect, park your things and get ready to leave,” he instructed sharply, his frown curving with his brows.Laura rose from the sofa she had been sitting on, tears streaming down her cheeks, then she stormed straight to her room. She collapsed onto her bed, and so more tears kept falling as it wet her bed. “Damn that man, can't believe my father would ever choose to treat me this way,” she muttered through gritted teeth. “He doesn’t even care about my feelings anymore.”
Leonard Predatory Instinct
Laura was certain of what she had done. She didn’t know if Nathan must have already discovered that she had planted a tracker on him the day she made an encounter with him. “I hate that bastard, playing smart on me isn't the best thing to do, but too sorry that I would be the one facing the brutal consequences,” Laura gritted her teeth. After some hours, Laura sat in her room, going through files that contained the Sinclair family asset, searching for any clue about Nathan and how he had gained such an ability to survive a gun shot to his head. But just then… a knock broke the silence as it echoed from the door.“Ma’am, your father wants to see you,” a security guard's voice sounded from outside the door before walking away. The moment Laura heard the word from the security guard, her heart sinked, tightened with weight and pressure, as if the blood flowing into it had been suddenly blocked before it could spread through her body.“He’s back already…” she muttered inwardly, eyes wid
Leading Them To Their Doom!
Henry shifted his gaze to Nathan, who was sitting beside him, he then took a deep breath, laced with panic before speaking. . “The day you saw Sophia, did anything unusual happen? Did she know you were the one?”Nathan was too ashamed to answer the question straight. He couldn’t just admit that he had slept with Sophia, so he found it difficult to speak, not because he can't but because he doesn't want to. Nathan only sat there, staring, unable to form words in his mouth. “Shit…” Henry cursed inwardly, he knew Nathan had fucked things up again. He then reached for the drawer and brought out an object. It looked like a glove—mechanical in design. He slipped it onto his hands, then used it to scan Nathan’s body. That was when he noticed something stuck to Nathan’s chest. It was so small, the human eye would barely be able to detect it, and thanks to the artificial blue light from the glove, which could see micro objects.“This object… It's a tracker. When attached to the body, even
She's Stuck In My Head
Any time Nathan closed his eyes, it felt like Laura was right beside him, breathing softly on his lips, and this sensation was already getting him to lose his mind. “Fuck…”Nathan shouted, gritting his teeth as he bolted upright. “I can’t believe that witch is getting into my head again. After all she’s done to me, I can’t be that foolish to love her again.”Nathan struggled inwardly with the choice, but nevertheless he can't fight it. Moments later, Nathan was seated, and beside Henry stood a tall table with some medical tools and equipment arranged in role. “Why do you need all this?” Nathan asked, staring at Henry, but Henry only grinned faintly. “It’s all for you,” Henry replied calmly. “I want to check a few things about you. I think it’s the right time to show you what you’re really capable of. With these tools here, we can get a deeper insight on what you are actually made for, and this would answer the question you have long waited for.”Nathan only stared, uncertain of H
