The air in the VIP lounge of the Grand Hanhai was thick with the scent of ozone and the heavy, suffocating pressure of a dying empire. Su Qinghe stood before me, her silver hair shimmering like frost under the dim LEDs. She was the "Ice Queen," a woman who had never known the meaning of the word "subordinate."

"You’re bluffing, Qin Ming," she hissed, though her eyes were darting toward the digital ticker tape scrolling across the wall-mounted monitors. "The Su Group is the foundation of this city. You can't just 'liquidate' a fifty-year legacy because of a yellowed piece of paper."

"Bluffing?" I sat back in the leather armchair, spinning my phone on the mahogany table. "Secretary Su, you’re still thinking in terms of paper and bank loans. My System doesn't negotiate with banks. It consumes them."

I tapped the screen and slid the phone toward her.

[System: Liquidating 'Su Family' Debt...]

[Su Group Stock: -14%... -28%... -45%...]

[Status: Hostile Takeover in Progress.]

"Look at the numbers, Qinghe," I said, my voice cold. "That’s not a market crash. That’s me erasing you. Every second you spend arguing with me, another thousand employees lose their pensions. Every breath you take in defiance costs your father another ten percent of his holdings."

"Stop it!" she screamed, lunging for the phone. I didn't even move. A golden pulse of energy threw her back, her heels skidding on the carpet. "You’re a monster! You were a househusband! A nobody! Where did this power come from?"

"The bottom of the ocean is a great place to find yourself," I replied. "Now, are we going to talk about your grandfather, or should I wait for the 'Critical Failure' notification on his life support?"

Su Qinghe froze. Her face went from pale to translucent. "How do you know about his medical suite? That’s a private facility. It’s off-grid!"

I flicked a finger, and the giant screen in the lounge changed. It showed a high-tech hospital room. A frail old man lay hooked to a glowing machine. A red light on the monitor was blinking.

[System: Remote Override Active. Life Support Battery: 12%. Shall I initiate 'Debt Collection' on the Heart Rate?]

"No!" Su Qinghe collapsed to her knees, her pride finally shattering like the ice she was named for. "Qin Ming, please! He has nothing to do with this! He’s ninety years old!"

"He signed the contract, Qinghe. He bought the Su family’s glory with Qin blood. I’m just balancing the ledger." I leaned forward, my golden eyes boring into hers. "You have sixty seconds. You can be the Ice Queen of a graveyard, or you can be my secretary. Which is it?"

"You want to humiliate me," she whispered, tears of pure rage spilling over. "You want to turn the most powerful woman in Hanhai into your errand girl."

"Humiliate you? No. I want to use you. You’re efficient, you’re ruthless, and you know where every body is buried in this city. You’re the perfect tool for what comes next."

"And if I say yes? The debt is cleared? My grandfather lives?"

"The debt is managed," I corrected. "As long as you’re useful, the Su Group stays afloat. The moment you fail a task, I sell another floor of your headquarters. The moment you lie to me, I pull the plug on the old man."

Su Qinghe looked at the screen—the battery was at 8%. She looked at me—the man who was supposed to be dead. She saw the 100 Trillion Spirit Coin aura radiating off me, a wealth so vast it made the world look like a toy store.

"I’ll do it," she choked out, her forehead touching the floor. "I’ll be your shadow. I’ll be your secretary. Just... give him back his life."

[System: Life Support Restored. Debt Status: Deferred.]

I stood up, the pressure in the room vanishing instantly. I reached into my jacket and pulled out a thick, black file. I tossed it onto her back as she knelt there.

"Good choice, Secretary Su. Stand up. Dry your eyes. Your first day starts now."

She rose slowly, her legs shaking, clutching the file like a liferaft. "What is this? A list of your favorite coffees? My work schedule?"

I smiled, and it was the most terrifying thing she had ever seen.

"That’s the Chu Group’s payroll," I said. "Go to their headquarters. Use the Hanhai authority I just gave you. I want a complete purge. Every executive, every manager, every janitor with the last name 'Chu' is to be fired by noon. No severance. No references. If they resist, call the police—I bought them this morning too."

Su Qinghe opened the file, her eyes widening as she saw the names. "This will trigger a total collapse of the Chu Corporation. Thousands of people—"

"I didn't ask for a consultation, Secretary," I cut her off, walking toward the door. "I asked for a result. Do it, or I’ll find someone who will. And remember... the old man is watching the clock."

[: As Su Qinghe rushed out to execute the order, my phone vibrated with a text from an unknown number: "The Chu family was just the appetizer, Qin Ming. The 'God-Body' belongs to the Sect. We are outside the hotel. Come out and die, or we bring the building down."]

[System: Warning! 12 'Heaven-Realm' Assassins have surrounded the Grand Hanhai. Survival Probability: 14%. Would you like to spend 100 Billion on 'System Guard' summons?]

I looked at the elevator doors. My "secretary" was gone to destroy my enemies' business. Now, I had to deal with their gods. "100 Billion?" I whispered, a dark thrill running through me. "Make it 200 Billion. I want them to suffer."

The Testing Plaza of the Hidden Dragon Academy was a vast, amphitheater-like space paved with cold, spirit-conductive obsidian. At its center sat the "Aptitude Stone"—a five-ton monolith of dense, pulsating granite. This wasn't just a rock; it was a spiritual barometer. To move it required a Rank-1 cultivation at minimum. To move it with your mind? That was the mark of the elite."Next! Lin Hao of the Lin Family!" the Proctor shouted, his voice amplified by a silver-trimmed megaphone.A young man in a pristine silk robe stepped forward, his face a mirror image of Lin Xinyi’s—sharp, arrogant, and filled with a sense of inherited divinity. He looked at the crowd, then caught sight of me standing at the edge of the circle with Su Qinghe."Well, well," Lin Hao sneered, stopping just inches from the stone. "The 'Trash' has followed the scent of his own humiliation all the way to the Academy. I heard my sister kicked you to the curb, Qin Ming. I didn't realize you’d come here to beg for a j

The smoke from the front gates of the Han Estate hadn't even cleared before Elder Han turned to me, his newly restored aura flickering like a dying star. He looked at the devastation, then at the black card I’d forced into his hand."You’ve turned my life into a debt, Qin Ming," Han rumbled, his voice still vibrating with the power of the Divine Needle. "But a shield is only as strong as the man behind it. The Eternal Spring Sect isn't just a group of monks; they’re the shadow masters of the province. They’ll be back. And next time, they won’t send an envoy. They’ll send an army.""Let them come," I said, my golden eyes scanning the horizon. "I have 100 trillion reasons why they’ll fail. But I’m not interested in playing defense forever, Elder. I want the source. Who gave the Lin family the formula for the 'Longevity Pill'? Who taught Xinyi how to poison my specific bloodline?"Elder Han’s expression darkened. He reached into his robes and pulled out a heavy, obsidian token carved wit

The atmosphere inside the Han Estate wasn't just tense; it was refrigerated. As I stepped through the heavy vermilion doors, a blast of unnatural, bone-chilling mist rolled over my shoes. This wasn't a weather phenomenon. This was the "Mysterious Cold"—a lethal, spiritual frost devouring the life force of the most powerful man in the province: Elder Han."State your business or get out," a guard barked, his hand on a pulse-rifle. "The Elder is in seclusion. No visitors.""I’m not a visitor," I said, my voice cutting through the fog with the resonance of the God-Body. "I’m the only reason he’ll see sunrise.""Another one?" A man in a white lab coat stepped forward from the hallway, flanked by two other 'experts.' This was Dr. Zuo, the top-rated surgeon in the country. He looked at my casual attire with pure vitriol. "We have the finest medical minds in the world in that room, kid. We have life-support tech worth billions. What do you have? A high-school diploma and a delusional ego?""

  • Chapter 9: The Poison in the Blood

The penthouse air still tasted of iron and pulverized masonry. Iron Fist Lu lay in a heap of broken pride, his mangled hand leaking a mixture of blood and spent spirit energy onto my floor. He looked up at me, his eyes wide with the realization that he had tried to assassinate a natural disaster."I told you everything I know," Lu wheezed, his voice bubbling with a punctured lung. "Warehouse 47... your sister... just let me crawl out of here.""I’m not done with you, Lu," I said, my voice vibrating with the 'God-Body' resonance. I grabbed a chair from the wreckage and sat directly in front of him. "The sister thing was a lie to lure me out. Tell me the real reason the Lin family kept me alive for three years. Why the monthly 'donations'? Why didn't they just kill me the moment they got the first drop?"Lu coughed, spitting a glob of dark red onto the marble. "You don't get it, do you? You weren't a husband, Qin Ming. You were a cultivation furnace. They weren't just using your blood f

  • Chapter 8: The Iron Fist Enforcer

The floor-to-ceiling glass of my new penthouse offered a panoramic view of Hanhai, a city I now partially owned but didn't yet trust. The silence was expensive, broken only by the hum of the climate control and the rhythmic tapping of Su Qinghe’s fingers on her tablet."The Chu family assets are completely frozen, Chairman," she said, her voice regained a bit of its professional edge, though she still wouldn't meet my eyes. "But there was a leak. A hidden offshore account in the Caymans—untouchable by the local banks—was emptied ten minutes ago. Twelve million dollars, vanished.""Twelve million?" I stood by the window, watching my reflection. My eyes still had that faint golden shimmer. "That’s a lot of money for a family that can’t afford a taxi.""It’s a bounty, sir," she whispered. "In the underground world, twelve million is the price for a Rank-2 hit."Suddenly, the air in the room didn't just vibrate; it groaned. The reinforced glass of the penthouse windows shattered inward, n

The cold weight of the night hadn't even settled before the world I had known for three years began to disintegrate for the Chu family.Chu Haoran woke up on the floor of the Grand Hanhai ballroom, his face a purple ruin, his breath hitching in a throat that felt like it was filled with glass. The first thing he reached for wasn't a bandage; it was his phone."Xinyi..." he wheezed, looking at her as she sat shivering on a nearby chair, her designer dress torn. "Call the private doctor. Now."Xinyi’s hands were shaking so hard she dropped her gold-plated iPhone three times. "I—I tried, Haoran. I tried calling the clinic. They said... they said our membership was terminated five minutes ago for non-payment.""Non-payment? I have a pre-paid retainer of five million!" Haoran roared, then winced as his shattered jaw protested. "Use the Black Card. Just get them here!"Xinyi swiped her screen, her eyes widening. "Haoran... I just got a notification. The card is declined. All of them. The pl
