chapter 29

After chasing Evelyn from his apartment Sullivan was so angry that he buried his face in his work.

He went through all the files John sent about the people who were neglected by the five great families.

He ordered John to schedule meetings with some selected few. Even though Evelyn was resourceful, she was unstable and he had the feeling that the alliance was not going to hold up for long.

He stared at the window and realized it was dark. He went to the bathroom allowing the warm water to run over his body easing his tension.

He was beginning to feel uneasy when he remembered the words Evenly said to him concerning his wife. He stationed more men at Erica's residence and also planned to move her to a new apartment by the end of the week but still, he didn't like the idea that Evenly knew the location of Erica.

She was a dangerous woman and he knew it but for now, she was useful.

Sullivan turned off the water and stepped into his bathrobe.
