The hall fell into a dead, suffocating silence, the kind that made it impossible to breathe.
Everyone, the whole hall was shocked to their very core, their eyes dilated and their jaws were hanging so low it felt like they would snap off their hinges.
It was impossible to believe. It was a joke, it had to be a sick, twisted joke of the heavens.
The talentless and auraless trash of the city, the boy who had been kicked out like a stray dog, had awakened an SSS class dragon beast!
Above Patrick's head, the dragon flew with a majestic dominance, its golden scales glittering like the morning sun rays.
The sheer pressure from the beast snapped the crowd off from their breaths.
And then, their eyes slowly shifted towards Prince.
At his feet, sat a tiny, pathetic looking F-Class cat. It just sat there, licking its paws without a single ounce of majestic aura or power that was expected from him.
"That's, that's impossible!" Helena Spec escaped rushing forward towards her son.
Her heels clicked aggressively against the floor, and her face flushed red with a mixture of absolute denial and burning rage. She pointed a trembling finger right at Patrick's face.
"He cheated!" She screamed, her voice echoing off the high ceilings. "There is no way that someone who had no aura, not even a single drop of it, could awaken such a powerful beast! It's impossible!"
She glared at the golden dragon, and then looked down at the pathetic cat by her son's feet with pure disgust.
"My son was born with an overflow of aura! He is a genius! He is supposed to awaken a legendary beast, not a low class beast like this! This trash must have used some dirty trick to take what rightfully belongs to him!"
Her words broke the spell of silence that had captured the hall.
Suddenly, the crowd erupted. Everyone immediately agreed to this, as it could be the only explanation, their voices overlapping in a chaotic storm of accusations and sneers.
"She is absolutely right! How could a trash without aura awaken a dragon?"
"He must be a sorcerer! Definitely employed one if you ask me!"
However, Patrick stood there, his face as calm, almost unreadable.
He didn't flinch, he didn't stutter, and he didn't cower like the old Patrick would have.
He knew the truth, but he kept it to himself.
As Patrick Hue, the founder of the taming society, the first beast tamer the world had ever seen, he knew exactly how this worked. These fools had spent a hundred years twisting his teachings into garbage.
He knew that beasts were contracted by aura, yes, but the beast a person awakened was destined right from birth.
Aura was nothing but a sign. It was just a bodily reaction and a signal that one would awaken a powerful beast. It didn't create the beast, it only welcomed it.
His step brother had stolen his aura pool at birth using forbidden sorcery, but he couldn't steal his destiny. The SSS class dragon was always meant for this body.
But Patrick just looked at them, watching them bark like clueless dogs.
"Arrest him! He is using dark arts!"
Everyone attacks Patrick, pointing their fingers and shouting at the top of their lungs, accusing him of being a sorcerer, and stealing what rightfully belongs to his brother.
"He stole Prince's fate! He stole his beast!"
"Trash will always be trash, resorting to stealing!"
"Enough!" A booming voice cut through the chaos, heavy and filled with authority.
Henry, his grandfather, stepped forward. His face churned with a deep, dark scowl, his hands gripping his walking cane so tightly his knuckles turned white.
He looked at Patrick with eyes full of disgust, like he was looking at a cockroach that had crawled onto his dining table.
"I am embarrassed," Henry spat, his voice laced with pure venom. "And I am irritated."
He shook his head, sneering at Patrick. "No wonder he walked into the hall with such confidence today. I should have known that a talentless fool wouldn't dare show his face unless he had a trick up his sleeves."
He turned to the crowd, validating their anger. "You always been dubious even as a child, that's why I didn't think twice before tossing you out. This is just another one of his dirty schemes isn't it!"
Patrick's eyes turned cold, a chilling smirk playing on his lips.
"Not as shady as your family," Patrick responded.
He didn't even look at the old man anymore. Instead, he turns to the crowd, his eyes sweeping over their angry, pathetic faces.
"Do you really believe any sorcery could change one's fate?"
"Do you really think a mortal trick can steal a destiny given by the heavens?" Patrick's voice echoed loudly through the halls.
The angry shouts died in their throats. Their mouths hung open, but nobody could speak, still stunned.
Because if sorcery could truly steal fate, then all their prestigious bloodlines, all their pride, meant absolutely nothing. It meant anyone could just steal their power. The very thought terrified them to their bones.
"Don't give us that bull crap!" Prince stepped in, his face squeezed inwards with pure fury and humiliation.
He couldn't stand the silence. He couldn't stand the fact that Patrick was the one controlling the room.
"You are nothing but street trash!" Prince roared, pointing at the golden dragon floating in the air. "That dragon beast belongs to me! You stole it, and I am taking it back!"
As if understanding the situation, the SSS class dragon beast let out a low, rumbling growl.
It looked down at Patrick, its golden eyes filled with absolute disdain. Even the dragon hates Patrick seeing how weak his current body is.
"You are weak," The dragon's voice echoed in their minds, a telepathic projection of its pride. "You have no aura. You do not deserve me." The beast rejected Patrick just like everyone else without even a second thought.
The dragon turned its massive head towards Prince, sensing the stolen, overflowing aura pool inside the golden child.
"I belong to the strong, not someone weak and pathetic. You deserve the cat instead," the dragon stated, hovering closer to Prince making a smile to cut through his face.
Down on the floor, the little F-Class cat looked up. Its ears drooped slightly, and it let out a soft, pathetic meow like they had drawn a stab into its heart.
Prince's chest puffed out, a wide, arrogant smile returning to his face. The dragon itself had chosen him and that reestablished his status.
"Listen here, trash I will give you a chance to give up the beast for an exchange of anything you want."
He crossed his arms, looking at Patrick like a generous god giving alms to a beggar.
"Besides, you could never take care of such a powerful beast with your current statues. An SSS class beast requires mountains of resources, pure aura crystals, and top tier training. Only the Spec resources could provide that which sadly you're not."
The crowd immediately broke out into murmurs.
"Prince is right! That trash would just starve the dragon to death!"
"He is being too generous! He should just take it by force!"
"The Spec family is the only one worthy of an SSS class beast anyway."
They spoke like they didn't even come from the same bloodline and Patrick didn't care. In fact, it was better.
Prince reached into his spatial ring with a smug look on his face. He pulled out a glowing, spatial pouch and tossed it onto the stage between them.
"I offer you 1000 beast evolvers," Prince announced proudly.
The hall gasped. 1000 beast evolvers was a massive fortune! It was enough to make a poor man rich for three lifetimes.
But Prince offered 1000 beast revolvers but everyone knew that this wouldn't help if the class of the beast was already weak. Beast evolvers could help a beast grow, but if the beast was an F-Class cat, no amount of evolvers could change its fundamental trash tier.
They all looked at Patrick, expecting him to cry tears of gratitude for this charity.
Instead, Patrick smirks.
He didn't look at the pouch of evolvers. He didn't look at the arrogant dragon that was practically begging to be with Prince.
He stares at the calm cat, and then at the arrogant dragon, and points to the cat.
"I want that," Patrick said, his voice calm and steady. "And the beast evolver, but 2000 instead."
The hall went dead silent again.
Did he just ask for the F-Class cat? Did he just willingly trade an SSS class dragon for a useless furball and some evolvers?
Prince burst into laughter, thinking the trash had finally lost his mind from the shock.
But Patrick just kept his eyes on the little gray cat.
Only he could see what others couldn't.
They saw an F-Class cat which in this world was nothing but trash.
But Patrick saw something else entirely.
The cat was the first beast and the King of taming, the most powerful beast in the world.
Only that this one was still young. It hadn't awakened its true form yet.
It was the beast he had when he was still on earth, the very first companion that had helped him conquer the beast realm a hundred years ago.
And The spec of the cat was its ability to control other beasts.

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND ELEVEN “I think we are even, Kael. I hope you are going to let us go now.” Patrick said with a deadpan face, looking at Kael who nodded without letting go of his frown. He looked at some of the savage men by his left who started to make hooting sounds, but he quickly looked away from them and returned his gaze to Kael who suddenly started to smile. Patrick looked at him for a few seconds, waiting for him to speak, but he soon started to chuckle without taking his eyes away from him. “Is he going crazy?” Patrick thought to himself but refused to speak in order not to arouse any form of lingering antagonism between the two of them. He already knew that they were outnumbered, and worst still, Sierra and her brother were greatly injured, leaving them almost without any form of defense not to talk of an attack strength. “You want to leave?” Kael asked calmly, and Patrick nodded in response, looking at Kael who chuckled softly without taking his eyes away from him.

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TEN From the look of things, everyone was waiting for Rico to kill Patrick with a single strike, especially Rico himself who was eager to cut his head with his axe. “You are going to regret ever being companions with those elves! How can Humans be moving together with those long-eared creatures of deception?” Rico’s voice had no other intention but to mock Patrick who ignored him and stood still, waiting for the right time to strike. “Can’t you hear me? Huh?” Rico started to move toward Patrick who made no move while he waited for him to get closer. ALERT! NEW MISSION ACTION: KILL RICO WITH A SINGLE STRIKE REWARD: NEW WEAPONS! The moment Patrick saw the notification that popped up on the screen, he nodded in satisfaction, chuckling softly at the fact that the notification that popped up on the blue screen just gave him a more valid reason to kill Rico whom he considered a noisemaker. While he stared at the blue screen with a bright smile on his face, Patric

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND NINE “He has promised to regain that which he has lost! He shall be given one last chance!” Kael declared with a loud voice, and the men hooted almost immediately, cheering Rico who lifted his ace above his head, and glared at the five adventurers who were a distance away from them. The bloodshot look on his face showed that he was ready to destroy whoever it was that was going to be the next person to face him. “Let’s see who is up next to challenge our champion,” Kael said in a low tone, and then he marched toward the adventurers who already knew the reason why he was walking toward them. A few seconds later, while Kael was still a few meters away from them, Jarden stood up immediately and looked at Kael who gave him an inquisitive stare. “I wish to replace her! Let me face your champion!” Dwyane said courageously, looking at Kael who closely observed him the moment he stopped a few inches away from him, and sighed softly. “I wish to replace her! Let me face

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND EIGHT “You bitch!” Rico whimpered in pain while he grabbed his member and almost staggered to the ground while he was faced with the intense pain that engulfed him. Sierra lay on the ground coughing profusely while she attempted to get a grip on herself, gasping and panting at the same time with her hands spread across the ground. She had left everyone dumbfounded with her show of resilience as no one imagined that she still had a little fight left in her. “That’s the third strike! That’s the third strike!” Lucy said excitedly, looking at Patrick whom he invited to follow her in her attempt to remind the leader of the Forsaken about his words earlier. Kael grunted angrily at Rico who had disappointed them just when they thought that he was going to kill Sierra whom they thought was no match for him. “That’s the third strike!” Patrick said to Kael who looked at him angrily and grunted again before he turned to look at Rico who had managed to get a grip on himse

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND SEVEN “You are wasting so much time for me!” Rico lifted Sierra with both hands, causing her legs to dangle in the air while her eyes completely rolled backward, and her breath ceased, causing her heart to almost stop functioning. Sierra tried to free herself from Rico’s tight grasp with her right hand, but because she was almost breathless, her efforts were nothing compared to the enormous strength of the savage beast who had known nothing else in his life apart from killing anyone who gave him a reason to end their lives. “It’s such a pity that you are going to die by my hands, and not by my axe. I was hoping that my axe was going to have a taste of your lovely skin, but it appears your skin yearns for my hands more than it yearns for my axe.” Rico sniggered at Sierra who could barely hear him as everything suddenly became unclear to her, and the only thing she could feel was her life trying to escape from her. “Sierra…” Borius panicked intensely at the sight

CHAPTER HUNDRED AND SIX The entire place was silent as everyone waited eagerly to see what was going to happen. It was obvious that one of the fighters had gotten a spark, and it was definitely not Rico who was growling as he slowly moved toward Sierra, wary that she had found a new courage. “I hope she wins,” Lucy said in a whisper, looking at Sierra who was waiting for Rico to get closer while she made several calculations on how she was going to fight him. Without saying a word, Rico lifted his axe angrily and made another attempt to behead Sierra who lifted the spear with both hands instantly and wedged the axe with her whole strength, pushing up while Rico pushed down. They both grunted loudly, but because Sierra was unable to withstand the force of Rico’s strength, she almost lost balance and was forced to get down on one knee while she continued holding onto her spear, straining as she attempted to keep the axe up and prevent it from getting down to hit her. “Stop fighting
